If we lived locally, I would frequent it for the hospitality alone (even though the burgers/tots were more than enough of a reason). Don was incredibly warm and inviting. I'll make this short and sweet but this was traumatizing honestly. Me and my boyfriend came here last Friday night. He doesnt like Smashburger but I do so he even just came for me. Plenty was wrong with our order but mistakes happen and they aren't a big deal. The HUGE deal was when I noticed my boyfriend looking extremely distraught and disgusted and asked me to just eat fast and refused to keep eating his food. I kept asking him what was wrong but he wouldn't tell me at first until finally he pointed behind me. We were in one of the booths closest to the registers that also have these like "half walls" behind my side of the booth and chairs on the opposite side of the table. Well these have walls have MANY ROACHES CRAWLING IN THEM AND LOOKING LIKE THEY WERE CRAWLING OUT OF THE WALL!! Immediately I got up and started to get my stuff to leave. I quietly went to the cashier (there were a lot of people in the restaurant) and whispered to him that this is a disgusting major problem that they need to be aware of. I left so fast my boyfriend was still in there helping clean up our stuff. I was so distraught I didn't even know I just left all my food on the table. So disgusted we did not ask for a refund immediately, we did call the next day as the food was $45 and we barely got to touch it. I hate to write this but this is so so so bad. The guy working told my boyfriend he's sorry and they've gotten plenty of complaints, when he came in for his refund the GM told him it's so weird and they don't know where they came from. First time at smash burger and I have to say it's fantastic. I'm gluten sensitive and I heard smashburger has gf buns and gf fries. I ordered the burger and smash fries. Both were excellent and I feel fine. The manager was really nice too telling me which items didn't have gluten and he told the cooks to toast my bun on the grille rather than the toaster. Today I ordered a meal from this smash burger location in nanuet. With my meal I ordered one of their new Vanilla cold brew late. As you can see in the picture it's just a regular vanilla shake. My order was placed online and at pick up this is what was given to me. He said "oh you have a shake" and went to take this out of the fridge. I said no... I have a vanilla colde brew late and he said yeah. I'm like is this the cold brew late? He insisted that it was. When I ordered online the drink did not look like a shake. I don't even think there is even any coffee in this. I must have asked him like 3 times and he said yes. This is not the coffee. Other than that burger is good. Everytime I go to smash burger the food is always good and the quality of the burgers always encourages me to come back. However one employee does seem to have an attitude towards customers. I order a cheeseburger with just cheese on it and his reaction makes it seem like he's annoyed with it. That said, this Smashburger has been like every other one I've been to (a whopping 2) The truffle mushroom burger hit the spot and was appropriately juicy and greasy. While Smashburger food is always good, the service at this location is not good. The prices are now much higher, like many burger places. But they now charge over $3 for a medium size fountain drink. They charged for ice tea which they did not have and then they said we could have fountain water for the same price. $3 for a medium cup of tap water? The manager was of no help and was not even apologetic. What has happened to respecting the customer and being hospitable. People, both customer and service workers need to be accommodating and polite. read more

My wife and I get in here maybe once per week or every others. One word...consistent. They simply do a great burger..all the time. Always with a smile and they are always glad to see us. More often than not, we split a burger and they go out of their way to bring us two trays. And those Smash fries??! Yowza, as good as fries get! We thought the Smash-Tots name reminded us too much of "Scott's Tots". Got to laugh out loud We (me) downloaded the app and now we get point for all sorts of stuff. Do it. Just do it if you go there. For a place that prides themselves on using fresh ingredients, especially the beef, it's a good sign that the beef patty isn't in a perfect packed circle! There's rosemary, olive oil and garlic on the fries so it smells really good. It's also really oily, but I don't eat Smashburger very often, so i think it's okay. The chocolate Oreo milkshake was alright. It could be made thicker. They probably blended it too long so it got kinda watery. Took one star off for that! The service is good!
