The worst. Period. Will not be back again. How long does it really take to cook some eggs?

If I could give this IHOP zero stars, I would. I've been here about five times since moving to Suffolk and each time it's terrible. I went in last night around 10, and there were filthy tables that hadn't been bused for what appeared to be hours. Only one employee was present. We sat for a good 15-20 minutes before the waitress showed up, and when I went to give my order, was informed I was given the wrong menu. After being given the correct menu for late night orders, I tried ordering again and was told they ran out of what I wanted. Not sure how a place that specializes in breakfast runs out of breakfast food. When we finally got our food, the steak and eggs I got was severely undercooked, my eggs had hair in them, and the pancakes weren't cooked in the center. I didn't want to complain, but one of my friend did and we were given a card for a free meal. While that's nice, I don't plan on returning to this location. Looking at some of the other reviews, it's probably in managements best interest to take a good, long look at how this store is run. I will be following up with the regional management. read more

So disgusted right now!! Food took forever to get to the table only to arrive hard and cold!!! Pancakes were so over cooked they crumbled! Waitress was ditzy. Kept saying "oh I forgot". Grandbaby spilled her drink that wasn't tightly sealed and she(waitress) kept trying to take the order instead of helping with the mess. Manager didn't even come to address after complaints.First and last time at that location! read more

This IHOP is the worst I have ever been to. We were seated in 5 minutes and the waiter took our order right away. After 40 minutes waiting patiently the manager said it would be two to three more minutes. After 20 the meal for the couple across from us that came in 30 minutes after us was served. We walked out. Everyone in the area was excited for this location to open, however the very unprofessional staff and lack of organization takes away from the experience. I've never seen a staff that acted like they were being forced into labor like some third world country. Fussing at each other (in front of customers) and threatening to walk out the door if any more people were seated in their area. Very unprofessional! This is my third and last attempt to eat here...hopefully management is aware of this atmosphere and will correct it before this place becomes a ghost town due to poor customer service and bad food! read more

I would like to say that this experience started off well. I asked to be seated near a plug and I was, that's the only positive thing I have to say. I was a bit indecisive at first on what I wanted but once I decided I noticed that my server was a bit busy. After awhile she came over and took my order, a pancake combo (2 pancakes, 2 eggs, bacon, and hash browns)... Simple you'd think. When it arrived at least 30 mins later, I told the server this really took a long time to come out and she said I know, smiled and walked away after she asked if I needed anything else. I attempt to eat the food only to first find something black in my eggs (no idea what) and it was lukewarm. That was it for me because after waiting so long you'd at least think the food would be fresh. Nope! I proceed to tell the server that I'm unhappy and going to leave and she says ok and takes the plates. No apology or attempt to reconcile. I was disappointed because she never checked in to say I apologize about the delay or your food should be up shortly. She just kept walking past me, avoiding eye contact. Given the option, drive another few miles to the next one. This is the worse IHOP in Hampton Roads. The wait time is ridiculous whether you call in or dine in. While there were 6-7 unoccupied booths, they weren't available for seating because they hadn't been cleaned. ALL middle tables were empty so it wasn't extremely busy. I witnessed a gentleman who had waited 20-30 min for his food after calling in, just to realize his food had been sitting on the counter the entire time. After checking it, there were no utensils or condiments in the bag and his food was basically cold. I waited 10-15 min for someone to take my drink order and was served coffee with no utensils to add the cream and sugar. 5-10 minutes later, when she reappeared, I had to remind the waitress there were no utensils on the table. I asked for warm syrup. It was brought to me in half full little cups but with noticeably little to no heat..... After eating a portion of the room temperature pancakes, I asked for the check - there was no more cold syrup to add to the already cold pancakes.... There was a 10 min wait to pay the check. They suck!!!!! I didn't think anybody could be worse than Main Street. But I was wrong. This waitress was terrible. She never refilled drinks, my eggs supposed to been boiled but came to me as rough as plastic Easter eggs, couldn't find her to get a box, she gave us no napkins only the 1 that came with the silverware. We couldn't find her to pay so we gave it to the lady at the door who claims she couldn't find take the money. What the heck....so we said it's 28cents we don't care keep it. Just horrible. I should've cooked at home, or ate cereal. Never again. Luckily I took a picture of the receipt. read more

Waited to be seated. Two servers on the floor. Neither welcomed us or even gave a gesture to seat ourselves, since there was no one at the front greeting desk. Finally we were told to find a seat. The table was wiped down, but sticky. We left. If the tables weren't cleaned, what else isn't clean? Never again. read more

LORD FIX IT! I am usually a very positive person and try to give places the benefit of the doubt such as slow service due to a large crowd or short staff. I will even give a place a second chance in some cases...but this place? It's as if they grabbed people from outside, gave them an apron, no training... then forced them to work there and just "figure it out". I even thought to myself, it's new, give it time, but based on other reviews time has not helped them. one positive...the place did seem pretty clean but again the location is not that old. 1st time I went with my cousin, hardly anyone was in there yet the service was very slow. silverware wasn't clean. food came out incomplete and we were almost done with our eggs and hashbrowns by the time the pancakes even came out. There was a couple across from us looking angry and it turned out that even though they were there before us, they still hadn't gotten their food! waited a long time for our check and then when it was time to go up and pay the person behind the register couldn't process the ticket. Our server who was nowhere to be found had to. This is not a busy 5 star restaurant, it's a diner, people waiting tables and then running up to the register every time a guest they served leaves? No location in any other state I have been to has done that. The person up front would always run the check and ask how everything was...I found it odd. Second time, was out with my folks. It was late, nothing but IHOP open. remembered my first experience but was hungry. Came in, again not very crowded. Not a lot of staff around either. placed order...order took forever...order came out incomplete again. folks had their food. I waited longer. food was ok but not very hot considering it just came out the kitchen. one waiter kept going back there too.. at one point I wondered if he was also cooking! had to ask another waiter where ours was at one point because she disappeared and we were more than ready to get our check and leave! she gave us check and apologized for wait DISAPPEARED AGAIN which wouldn't have mattered if they didn't have that stupid rule of making your specific waiter process your payment up front. So we looked around for her upfront as did the person who worked there and was behind the cash register yet could do nothing! All I can do is laugh at how ridiculous my experience was. I truly hope they get better, but at this rate the location will close for lack of business eventually. As someone else said, they are not busy, just disorganized... read more

If I could assign negative stars I would. Seated right away then waited 10 minutes for a waitress. She never brought half of our drink order and disappeared for 20 minutes. Food took over 30 minutes to come out. The eggs tasted awful and the crepes had rotten bananas on them. Staff never came by to check on you. We won't be back. read more

I was not impressed. It smelled bad coming into the restaurant, they only had one server, it looked dirty, and the coffee was bitter.

Well at least they're consistent. I gave this location a second chance and again waited 30 minutes for a single, simple order, not including the wait to be seated because no one was watching the front either time. Where should I start, we came in, waited to be seated for a good 25 minutes. No host was there. When we got seated our waitress took about 10 minutes before she approached us. After she took our drink orders and came back to take our food order, she rushed up and snatched the menus from our hands. Also, there have been tables with dirty dishes and trash left on them from probably before we got here, until we left. Worst experience with IHOP. Or IHOB I should say. I didn't know that changing the name would change the experience. 0/10. read more

The service was terrible from the minute we walked in the door. The wait staff was so unorganized and didn't know where to seat us. We sat down and ordered our food. They brought out me and my wife's food but not my daughters. Anyone with kids knows that the kids should get their food first. Ten minutes went by and they brought out her two pancakes. When we cut into them they were raw in the center. The manager came over and said sorry I can remove the cost of the pancakes. Terrible experience and we will never return. read more

Wish I could give a 0! First time, waited over na hour without getting any food. Coldn't find the waiter or mananger. Send in a complaint - no response. Saturday ight they changed my "to go" order. Burnt the hash browns and pancakes but placed upside down so we wouldn't notice. Went up there again - still gave me the wrong order and burnt the hash browns again! Sat at my table for 20 minuets and the server never came. DO NOT come to this location avoid it at all cost.

We had to wait over 15 minutes to even get seated. It wasn't even busy and there were available booths and seats everywhere. There was no one working that should be seating people. Employees walked by and completely ignored us. You would think if you saw guest waiting to be seated you would inform someone..someone eventually came out and said "Sorry, I'll seat you in a moment. I've lost something important." She never came back and another lady came to seat us. Our waitress was completely ditzy. I asked her for their house coffee and she didn't even know what I was referring to so I told her "just a regular coffee" and she came back with decaf. Not once did she come back to ask us how our food was or refill our drinks. There was no silverware on the table or sugar. She acted as if she didn't care. Probably because right when we were finished she was clocking out. The only thing we got out of this was the food. It was decent nothing special. read more

Food took an inordinately long time to get, so much so that our waitress, a bright spot Dani was, brought us some fruit to appease us during the lengthy wait. Breakfast is easy, and there's lots of local competition. Might give it another chance in six months or so, or stick to IHop-ping on Taylor Road.. read more

I was properly greeted 3times before being seated. Afterwards no one came to the table to take my drink order for the entire 15 minutes I was there. Finally a couple came in and was seated beside me. A waitress introduced herself and stated she would return and when she did she took their order. Meanwhile I got the attention of the hostess tell her and she said "someone would be with me in a moment." Well they will have to come and get me from The Bistro! read more

I thought I would give IHOP another chance because this location has some of the worst and slowest service ever. I called at 8:10 am to make a To Go order. I waited for someone to pick up the phone for 2 minutes and after someone did pick up the phone I waited an additional 10 minutes for the lady to return to my phone call. I hung up the phone and tried to call back to speak to the manager and waited another 3 minutes for them to pick up the phone. No answer. Okay then you get a bad review. I'm finished with IHOP. They are consistent with bad service. read more

There is nothing to say other than the fact that this was the absolute worst experience my family has ever had and that is saying a lot. I understand that this restaurant was just opened however I can't understand for the life of me why the IHOP chain would open a new location and throw in a million people who are inexperienced and seem to have absolutely no idea what they are doing. Every coffee urn that was brought out was half empty, every time we asked for anything we had to ask for it 6 times before it was actually brought out to us, and half of the food we ordered was wrong. We had a order of blueberry pancakes that was brought out with the rest of the food, and it was prepared with no blueberries in them. After expressing the issue, they were not corrected and brought out until 20 minutes later. We told the manager that we would like the meal comped because it was not only incorrect but we had all finished our meals before my mothers pancakes were even delivered, and he was unconcerned, did not ask any questions, nor did he really seem to care at all that we were clearly upset and having a problem. When we went to pay, my brother pointed out that the pancakes were not taken off the bill. The manager walked over and my brother said "sir weren't these supposed to be taken off" and he says "I don't know." After explaining the situation to him AGAIN he finally said "ooooooh I didn't know you were part of that table" and he still did not apologize for the inconvenience. Overall, the server seemed nice as could be, but she was clearly new and overwhelmed without help from a decent manager. We did not receive the service expected going into a restaurant, especially with a negligent manager. read more

This is by far the worst I-Hop restaurant I have been to. It took almost an hour to get our food. It normally takes about 15 minutes at any other I-Hop. The sad part is they were supposedly backed up in the kitchen but there were only 3 families waiting. Don't waste yoir time here. Just ridiculous. read more

I was very excited to see an IHop being built close to our neighborhood. We decided to go celebrate a very special birthday. The wait time to be seated was stated to be 20 mins but we were seated within 10 mins. Of course, we thought sure this was a good sign of positive things to come. :) The restaurant was not overly crowded and many table available. We were seated and our drink order was taken and recieved. No problems. The food order was was taken and the wait began! We noticed many others waiting and a table across from us looking very upset. After not recieving our appetizer the first 30 mins, we knew this was a bad idea. We asked for the manager who came to our table and apologized but then started making excuses for the kitchen staff, stating they had a busy lunch rush and had been working since 5am. Not my problem! Staff appropriately for the shifts. Soon after, now an 1.5 hours into our wait time, the food arrives but there's a problem, the appetizer arrives also with the cold meal for the birthday person! Meal along with the appetizer was send back with a major complaint. The birthday meal was recooked and returned within 10 mins. Problem, the pancakes were half done! And oh, the waitress returned at the end of the service. We only saw her 2 times the entire visit. This visit took 5 employees to screw it up! :( read more

Went here on Father's Day. Ignored the reviews. Figured they would be on their A game on this occasion. Restaurant was half filled and hostess said the manager told her not to seat anyone. Drove to the IHOP in Chesapeake 5 miles away and it was perfect. Someone from IHOP corporate needs to conduct an inspection of this location! read more

Always follow first impression! As I entered IHOP this morning a customer was complaining about her takeout order. Charles was my server, very slow and forgetful, he forgot to bring our coffee, and after talking our order we asked for a refill and he returned with not enough coffee in the canter for one cup. The food came my wife eggs were hard and dry, my French Toast was hard without butter and bacon not fully cookrd. I said I asked for crispy bacon and the French Toast has no butter, he apology for the bacon and would put another order in, and said I didn't put butter on it because you didn't want powered sugar. After five minutes he returned with coffee and said I just told them to give me some more bacon, I asked for my check and told Charles I don't have time to keep waiting. I'm not an IHOP person, was trying to support them because they are a neighborhood restaurant but never again. This is a leadership problem, manger need to show their employees how its done.
