Hidden Gem in Churchland Nix is the kind of place you stumble upon once and never forget. Tucked away in a nostalgic 1970s strip mall in the Churchland area, it's a true hidden gem that locals quietly cherish. From the moment you walk in, the staff makes you feel like family--warm, welcoming, and always attentive. One of the things I love most is how seamless the service is. After placing my order, drinks and condiments just appear without needing to ask. It's that kind of thoughtful touch that sets Nix apart. The wait time for food is impressively short, which is perfect when you're craving a hearty breakfast. My go-to is the soft scrambled eggs with cheese paired with their legendary fried potatoes--crispy, golden, with green peppers and onions and full of flavor. But this time, I decided to switch things up and try something new: eggs, cheese grits, and fried flounder. And wow--what a combo! The flounder was perfectly seasoned and fried to a delicate crisp, while the cheese grits added a creamy, comforting balance. Whether you're a regular or a first-timer, Nix delivers consistently delicious food with a side of genuine hospitality. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cozy breakfast spot that feels like home cooked food Tip: The flounder is pre-breaded and frozen. $19.26 with two sides All credit cards 4% is charged

The best inexpensive breakfast in Chesapeake. Been frequenting Nix for over 20 years. Such a cozy, down home country feel. The food portions are always just right, food comes out hot everytime, the taste is perfect and the price can't be beat!

Mediocre... had chicken fried steak that I'm 90% sure came from the grocer frozen section. The hash browns were definitely microwaved, the toast came 10 minutes after everything so my eggs were already cold. The service was very friendly and everyone else's meals looked good (it was packed). Willing to give it another shot but wouldn't go out of my way for it.

    The country skillet !

Had an excellent and very filling breakfast skillet. It was a ton of food and very yummy !

I didn't know the sauce would be drizzled on the slider. But it was ok! I'm not a sauce girly but it gave the tender flavor! I got not hot for my spice level! I also typically get no salt on fries, but wanted to try the full experience. They weren't too salty. If you're going during a not busy time, still prepare to wait about 10 mins after your food is ordered. Which is ok for fresh food, My sandwich wasn't hot. I also liked the kale salad. It's like a cousin of cole slaw! I was also surprised at how big the tender was for the slider.

The wind from an incoming rainstorm knocked over the giant inflatable chicken outside. I made up my mind right then and there to stop by for a visit one day. When I finally got around to giving it a try, I dined in and was only semi-pleased. The staff were very nice, as the district manager was there at the time. The chicken itself can get quite chewy and hard to bite. The sauce is OK at best. The fries leave a little to be desired. The spiciness levels are very noticeable when requested at high volumes. I like that they offer slices of pickles with everything you order. The bread isn't too bad, as long as it's not soggy. When you order one of the Mozzarella Cheese Planks, they give it to you in a little box with a cup of sauce, a slice of bread, and a couple of pickles. I was not expecting it to have such a presentation and I have to admit, the charming nature of it almost brought a tear to my eye. It was just about the cutest damn thing I've seen in a long time. I mean, who thinks enough to do that!? Just pure thoughtfulness, that's what it was! It is VERY loud inside and the music choices aren't great. The interior is very flashy and riddled with graffiti-styled "Art". The one on Battlefield is a little better food-wise, I have to say. Which is disappointing. Maybe I'll give this one another try in the future. I still feel bad for the giant inflatable chicken that fell over in the parking lot that night. A force of nature shouldn't hinder the efforts of plastic poultry that's just trying to get the word out about Hot Dave and his line of spicy offerings.

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon after church and ordered the chicken salad sandwich (Freemason). Fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was craving. When the weather's nice, I always try to grab a seat on the patio. It's such a relaxing spot to enjoy a good meal and soak up a little sunshine. Also, I have to shout out their potato salad is one of the best around. Creamy, just the right amount of seasoning, and always hits the spot. TASTE is the kind of place that makes you proud to support a growing local chain. Great food, great atmosphere, and always a solid experience.

Based on visits over the past 5 years, which have been spaced further and further apart, I was hesitant. And my hesitancy proved to have been warranted. Husband's Northender on Multi grain My Princess Anne also on multi grain. Bread was so dry and stale that I simply struggled to eat the filling. The tomatoes were that hard, white inner core that most people would not feature on a sandwich. Finally in frustration I walked up and asked for a slice of baguette, which was the main meal's only redemption. Let's not even talk about what has become barely a step up from snack pack desserts. Both my (Bakehouse--oh my gosh, are they kidding?) gold brownie and my husband's blueberry mishmash had one bite from them before they too went straight into the trash. (Both tasted more of chemical, than of food) Sadly, what used to be one of our favorite weekly visits pre-Covid, has become less than lackluster, and far from its name. Rather it should be renamed yet again, from the original, Taste Unlimited, to Taste and now should be called, Tasteless. For the price of $50, one would think the meal would at least be edible. Hopefully this review will help me remember why we stopped going. Definitely do not recommend.

I been here to this location last week but unfortunately I forgot to check in, but I made sure that was the first thing I did this time. As soon I walked in I was greeted immediately by the staff on duty, meanwhile I was checking in so I didn't forget on this trip!. This was the first time I walked in any type of business and I was the only customer in there, my last visit was kind of chaotic because the store was jam packed with customers. Lucky I knew exactly what I wanted so I was quick on the draw when they asked what they could get started for me. It felt like I was the very first customer when they first opened up for the day because all the customer service was given to me, probably because I was the only one in there at the time, but nevertheless I enjoyed the brief moment of customer care!. I ordered a giant # 16 which consists of grilled onions and peppers and white american cheese!. I asked if they could put extra onions on my #16 giant sub. No grilled peppers on my sub but I would like to have them on the side. They obliged me and started to make my sub. As soon as the sub making began I was given a slip yo take to the register so the cashier could ring up my order correctly. After a short while they said could they make another sub because one of the employees made a mistake and put grilled peppers on my sub. I said no big deal we all make mistakes from time to time but all you have to do is make it right with the customer and they made it right. I started to leave off a star because of it but I said to myself. " why would I do that because they made a slight error between them when preparing my sub "?... so five stars the the employees at Jersey Mike's subs!!!.. they also was kind enough to give me two tickets for a free chips and drink when ordering a sub, so again kudos to them for making the right sub wrong but in the same breath they made it right times 2!!!.. I will also add the fact that I was the only customer in the store gave off a very relaxed vibe which you hardly ever experience when there are other customers in the store! I will definitely be back here again because I really enjoyed the experience they gave me. Outstanding customer service, hands down!!!.. You know since leaving Brooklyn NY it has been hard to find a good sandwich and I will say this place has the next best thing! Here in the south they call them subs, when I first moved down here I was like 'what is a sub'? Because in Brooklyn it was called a "Hero"!!!.. so let's say Jersey Mike's has the best hero in the south!!!..

I love the #9 my favorite sandwich soooooo GOOOOD next time I might get extra cheese next timeread more

This business is connected to Westside burger. Unfortunately they were closed this evening. But The Silos were open for business. They have an inside bar on both sides of the establishment, they have a seating area outside on both sides as well.. and believe it or not there is a rooftop seating area upstairs as well... The waitress was on her job as soon as we walked in making it easy to order food and drinks. There was even a game area to your left when you walk in. The yard area is for the whole family to enjoy. But in order to enjoy rooftop dining you have to be 21 years old or older to enjoy rooftop dining!. The bars offered a full experience of beer, liquor and other alcoholic beverages! I will recommend and definitely return for another great experience!. Another 5 star experience!.

On coming in the place is beautiful, I appreciate industrial design and loved the look. We were I'd say half ass greeted by a young lady in the front. She told us to sit anywhere but since it being our first time there we had no clue where we wanted to sit. She also told us to grab our menus and walked away.. we thought that was rather odd but shrugged it off. The inside doesn't have much seating to accommodate a family. We had four people in our party but a four year old. The outside seating accommodates children more but it was rather hot outside today, the inside wasn't too cold either, but it was okay. We sat down, we didn't realize this is a scan a barcode and order type thing but that was no biggie, the only thing that sucked was we couldn't find anyone to ask about our food. We placed our order for our appetizers first, got a text saying our food was ready and Twenty minutes went by and we still didn't receive it. I had to go ask the bartender if we were supposed to walk up somewhere, she was a black woman with short hair, this woman was beyond amazing. She helped and figured out why we didn't receive our food. The young lady that brought it to us was rude. She brought our appetizers, and our meals at the same time. Our appetizers were stone cold. When we told her that the food was cold she got an attitude, and pretty much walked off. The bartender came back, took our appetizers and apologized.. which isn't her job then came back with our new food, I'd like to come back and try again. But the lady that helped us needs the recognition she deserves. Your wait staff need better training.
