The best inexpensive breakfast in Chesapeake. Been frequenting Nix for over 20 years. Such a cozy, down home country feel. The food portions are always just right, food comes out hot everytime, the taste is perfect and the price can't be beat!

Mediocre... had chicken fried steak that I'm 90% sure came from the grocer frozen section. The hash browns were definitely microwaved, the toast came 10 minutes after everything so my eggs were already cold. The service was very friendly and everyone else's meals looked good (it was packed). Willing to give it another shot but wouldn't go out of my way for it.

I went up to Virginia to see a couple of my friends. The day we were leaving we decided to eat brunch but they canceled due from being sick so me and my good friend decided to come here to eat brunch. We knew it was going to be packed by the parking outside. We walked in and the waitress told us to sit anywhere. There was no seats available but this kind man David (Daily customer) gave us his table since he was about to leave. The waitress came over and cleaned it up and asked what we would like to drink then we ordered food. The place was extremely packed because of this it was definitely a long wait! The menu items were amazing and good price. When I got my check everything you see in the pictures were under $20 for all. I do agree this place is a gem. If I lived closer I would come here weekly! Come try it out!

Had an excellent and very filling breakfast skillet. It was a ton of food and very yummy !

It's annoying that some folks cannot go to places without causing issues. As a result, many of these places have made rules that also punish folks who know how to properly conduct themselves while out in public. Ok, I'll get off of my soapbox. The staff at this location was super friendly, and the location was really clean. I went off script and ordered something besides the All Stars combo meal for the 1st time in about 20 years. During my visit, I went with the cheesesteak bowl. I thought the bowl was well made, I just wish there was little more meat in the bowl. But, I just think I was really hungry and greedy for more meat. Meat aside, the bowl came with a HUGE helping of hashbrowns and any other fixings that you might add to the bowl. Random thought: I wish Waffle House would provide other cheeses besides American cheese, because I think this bowl would have been AMAZING with cheddar or Swiss cheese. Hopefully, this Waffle House will keep it's 24/7 dine-in option, but I have a feeling that this location might switch to only to-go orders from 11pm to 6 am like the other locations in the area.

My sister mentioned that her drink was very weak, which was disappointing. For food, I ordered the boneless buffalo wings, and my sister had the bang bang shrimp and loaded fries. Everything was decent, but nothing really stood out or made us want to come back for more. It wasn't a bad experience, but it also wasn't anything to brag about. Honestly, I'd be perfectly fine not going back.

The waiter was quick and attentive on putting in our drinks and appetizers/food to be made as soon as we sat down. Noticed that the menus for food and drinks looked different since my last time visiting, which was interesting. I started with their Honey barbecue boneless wings (10/10), they were cooked with a little crisp to the skin and the flavor was actually really good. Also had the Bacon cheese fries (7/10), I love when food comes out fresh and melty, but these came out as if they sat for a minute with the cheese already congealed and stuck to the paper. For drinks, I tried their Strawberry passion daiquirita and Life's a peach, both fell short on flavor (as far as what the menu stated what they were made compared to how they came out tasting) for me (5/10). I was def disappointed in my drinks for the night. I do see myself going back, but I just hope the next time the drinks are better. My overall rate of experience : 7.3/10

However, this is not the case with Lin's. I ordered the Chicken Fried Rice and my fiance' ordered another chicken dish on last Thursday. We were both disappointed. The "fried rice" was not like ANY fried rice I have ever had. It seemed like Uncle Ben's rice except it was yellow. There was no flavor and definitely it was not fried. The chicken tasted like what you would think broiled chicken would taste like. I even asked for "additional" vegetables which involved a surcharge. It seemed that maybe I received some extra broccoli. However, the other veggies were few. There was only a couple peas and a few carrots and mushrooms. I can pass on a compliment for the broccoli, as it was good. Spring rolls are small and cost more than they should. We do not recommend this restaurant. We may give it some time for improvement and try again at a later date but will not be returning any time soon,

The given wait time was 18 minutes, it only took 12 minutes. My meal was very tasty and satisfying. The ambience of the Texas roadhouse is exactly what it says. It's a Texas style Resturant. The Take-Out service window is covered with a screen graphic, so you really can't see in unless you look between the screen edge and the uncovered window pane. I mentioned this because I gave them my credit card to pay for the food and it took them quite a while to bring my credit card back to the window so I was just wondering what was going on so I did peep between the edge of the screen and the window pane to see what was going on, and one young lady was holding the card and another young lady came in and looked at the card and I'm assuming that they had already put it in the machine, but it took so long I had to knock on the window to find out what was taking so long for them to return my card and that was a concern for me.

It was well-seasoned maybe a little too seasoned for my personal taste but he loved every bite. His sweet potato was also good as usual. And let's be honest, those rolls and honey butter!!! They deserve their own review. The service was fast and friendly. I've never experienced any issue with the service or the time it takes to receive our meals. There was nobody to greet us at the door; nobody to seat us...nobody even dining in the store. The lights were turned down low, as if they were closed to the public, but still open to the cleaning staff. We saw what we thought were a couple of diners sitting at a far table, when one looked over at us, stood up, went into the kitchen (probably to inform a cook on his cellphone, "We have customers, and these look like they're staying"), then greeted us. When he approached us, we found him difficult to hear. He seemed very shy, and I got the strange feeling that we were putting him out, for deciding to dine in that restaurant. He led us to our table. There was nobody else in the entire place. I ordered the salmon (well done), broccoli (cooked well), and mashed potatoes. My order took longer to cook, but i had specific high demands that took longer to cook, so I didn't mind. They brought out my husband's order first, then mine came about 5 minutes later. The broccoli was really good. I think they put it on the grill and cooked it with the salmon. My husband's broccoli was not well cooked, but it was hot. He was fine with his broccoli, but I was very grateful for the way it was cooked. It tasted good and the salmon was delicious, as well. But the pile of salt, flavored with mashed potatoes was not so appealing. All I could taste was salt. They were obviously boxed mashed potatoes. I decided to have one of my husband's French fries, and they were so salty that I had to brush all the grains of salt off of my hands after handling one. Maybe they are happier when customers don't come around? Maybe their salt supply was getting ready to expire, so they took advantage of using it up on the two diners who forgot to check reviews before entering the restaurant. I don't know. I could let the worst case suspicions run through my head, as to why they salt-dumped the potatoes, but there are just as many innocent reasons. I think the cook was just as inexperienced as the waiter. Perhaps the cook WAS the waiter. If ihop is saving money on electricity, maybe they have a one-man restaurant running everything. We went to pay the bill, and of course, nobody was at the register. The waiter took my card in the back, instead of the register, where I expected him to ring it up. The entire meal - salmon with broccoli and potato-flavored salt and beef tips with broccoli and fries cost $44 and some change with an $8 tip. This is a very sad restaurant. They need to try to do better, or pull the plug and let it slip into eternity to serve angels with Howard Johnson's and Chi-Chi's.

It was a stale smell that could easily be remedied by a carpet washing if somebody cared enough to make an effort. It's not like they don't have time to freshen up the place; nobody is eating there. I ordered the Cajun blackened salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli. I asked for no seasoning. The salmon came out fine. The potatoes were too salty and had too much butter. I did like that they mixed peels with the potato's, but the over seasoning ruined it. The broccoli was horrible. It tasted like it had been in the freezer for a year and recooked. The broccoli was also over buttered, and I have to wonder if they were trying to hide the freezer burn taste. It makes perfect sense that the broccoli would be old. They haven't had customers in a while, so the broccoli spent a lot of time in the freezer. But here's the thing: for what we paid, we deserved a fresh bag of broccoli. If I wanted food like this, I could've grabbed food from the back of my freezer and cooked it myself. It bothers me that it would've taken just a few extra steps to make the establishment an enjoyable dining experience. Maybe they foul it up because they don't enjoy serving large crowds.
