IKYFL about the size vs price
Ebony C.

First time visiting one of these establishments and it was a little off putting. The waitresses while nice and helpful, kinda argued about seating customers because they were short staffed. The booths could use a good upgrade and upholstering (a lot of tape and torn seats). My main reason for even writing a review was for the very skimp, overpriced piece of pie I received. For almost $7 (after taxes), the slice of pie I got was so small. It actually pissed me off because of how small it was . I should have just waited and brought a pie out of the freezer section from the nearby grocery store.

We have visited this location on numerous occasions, after our Sunday mornings church services. The waitress and waiters are always great helpful and very friendly. The restaurant is always pretty bustling with diners. Our waitress today was Sheryl, I have seen her before but we are not usually in her service area. Today we had her pleasure and she is a absolute doll. Joyful friendly and helpful. Sheryl made went thr extra step to provide me with French vanilla coffee flavor, I really appreciate her for this. Sheryl delivered our meals and checked on us frequently to see of we were good and we were. The 3 stars are for Sheryls service and the food. I didn't rate 4 stars because the window had soooo many flies fighting to get out , bouncing against it, the table and my seat. ugghhh I didn't fuss about it because I just wanted to eat and leave. I emplore the restaurant to please get control of this pest problem. I am sure the new Bridgeport area just 1 mile down offers great restaurants that serve breakfast. I honestly will check the window next time for flies before we sit to dine.

Chicken green Chicken Fried Steak

Chicken Fried Steak was great, my eggs were supposed to be scrambled hard with cheese the chef just threw cheese on top of my eggs (HORRIBLE). I asked could they melt the cheese and he literally put it in the microwave and sent it back. French toast cold and not tasty. All in all a 3/10. Waitress was blah

We arrived and the parking lot seemed crowded but since it was just the two of us we were seated right away. Our server was very friendly and timely, and my wife and I both got the same thing: chicken fried steak with hash browns and scrambled eggs. Except she took the pancakes that came with it while I swapped those out for an English muffin. The food was really good, like comfort food. Decor as others have said is set back in time. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner all day so if you want dinner food at breakfast it's available. A welcome addition to Northern Suffolk!

Grown Up Grilled Cheese Sandwich and Fries!

My daughter and I went here for lunch after a day of Fall Festival Shopping and we were happy we did! She said she loved her Cobb Salad - it was fresh and the chicken was warm and tasty! We both loved the fries - hot and just the right amount of crispness! My Grown Up Grilled Cheese was amazing - I really loved the Parmesan crusted bread! Delicious! Our waiter was awesome - very attentive, funny, and engaging! We were both bummed our teams (Penn State for me, Norte Dame for him) weren't playing! Great location, too , so more shopping done!

Men's Bathroom

Bathroom floor sticky and trash can over flowing and only 1030 in the morning. Over all smell of restaurant is not conducive to wanting to eat.

First time here for dinner and it did Not disappoint, didn't think dinner could to lunch but it did. It was busier too and service was excellent and food still amazing and didn't take forever either. Can you say WINNING!! I had their fettuccine chicken Alfredo for the first time and it was rather tasty. Typically I add broccoli, but I didn't and it was still yummy. My daughter actually got my usual the baked ziti which she enjoyed and I ordered a to go one to take home to my bottomless pit son and youngest daughter too. We opted for no desserts because we were just too full but think I'll have to make a return trip just for dessert one day because those looked yummy as well!! It wasn't too noisy at night, but definitely a tad louder than during the day but to be expected on a busy holiday weekend. Parking is ample in this shopping center so no worries here on that. Come check them out you will leave satisfied.

Typical high prices, way too expensive…read more Food was good though, I have to be honest. It seemed like one those places where they want to present it as fancy, but it's not. If you have TV's in the dining area or you serve pizza or beer? It's not fancy. The cake was really good. The pasta wasn't bad. Bread could've been better. Salad was fine. I'd go back if I had some money to spend and was in the area.

Today I ordered the make your own bowl and selected chicken kabob and falafel. The chicken was tasteless and the falafel, which I love, was spicy hot. I have never eaten spicy hot falafel before. EVER! I have eaten a lot of falafel but never spicy. I didn't like it. I don't want my falafel to be hot. Also there were many protein choices that were labeled spicy. Why? This area is not on the eat spicy hot food until your head sweats list. I ordered the lemon garlic dressing hoping it would be like the garlic dressing at Cava (their sister company) but it wasn't even close. In fact, it wasn't even good. The balance was way off. All I could taste was the oil. Not a hint of lemon. The mouth feel was totally oily. The balance between the oil and the acid of the lemon was truly off. Maybe someone forgot to put the lemon in it? I hated it. I wish I hadn't put it all over my food before I tasted it. The service was very poor. I had an important question prior to arriving and called the restaurant twice but no one EVER answered the phone. Who doesn't answer a ringing business phone? What kind of terrible business practice is that? Remember when a business phone had to be answered prior to the third ring? I do. Last but by no means least, the staff spoke very broken English. Very, very broken. In fact, I think that some of the staff didn't actually speak any English at all. I am the last person to complain about Spanish speakers trying to make their way here. I was engaged to a Mexican National for six years and spent about 70% of my time on that side of the border. Consequently, I am much better at understanding English spoken with a heavy Hispanic accent than most Americans, unless they actually live on the border. Here in Virginia I find that most people hear a thick Hispanic accent and just give up and stop listening immediately. Well, today even I struggled to understand and the staff person had trouble reading my name on the order and needed help identifying it. So, I'm sorry to say this is my last visit. I have always preferred Cava to Mezeh and now I actually dislike Mezeh. Too bad because there isn't a Cava close to my home.

I tip above 20% 95% of the time. The food was average at best. Temperature was off on both entries. Taste was nothing special. We only had 2 mixed drinks, and 2 glasses of wine. The 1st dirty martini was made with vermouth after I specifically said no vermouth. I was billed for both. Neither martini was topped off. Both were 1-1.5 inches from the top. Wine was fine. The service was ok. Not great. The table settings are bland, and could be found in a Dennys restaurant. After a below average dining experience; I was a bit surprised with a $375 bill. Suppose I should have paid more attention to the prices for side dishes and deserts. Adding insult to injury: I somehow left my Amex behind at the table. First time in my life. Then the fun began. My wife and I called the restaurant and had to leave messages 5 times between us, to confirm they had the card and to arrange a pickup. Not one call back: in 5 calls!!! Finally ordered a new card. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Stay away from these lazy people.

Love it here!…read more Yesterday my husband and I dined at this restaurant for the prime rib special. Today Monday the day after is National prime rib day so the restaurant decided to feature a special on prime rib for Sunday dinner. My husband made reservations online for 5:00 p.m. we arrived on time with no wait and because the restaurant was fairly empty we decided to dine at the bar instead of a table in the actual dining room. Our bartender/waitress, Lizzie, she was on point held the whole bar area down punctual assertive and had everything under control. I ordered a margarita I did ask her is it a fresh Margarita and she said yes and my husband ordered his normal crown with a splash of Sprite. My margarita in my opinion it didn't taste as fresh as I would like it to be and then I don't care to have a margarita in a tall glass that just screams mix not fresh to me. Nevertheless I just know not to order that again going forward but my husband's cocktail... Crown Royal with Sprite he enjoyed it! I wasn't super hungry so I decided to order a salad and add a piece of blackened salmon to it it was very good finished it all up... ordered it my way. My husband ordered the prime rib I believe medium his was a little bit more than medium but nevertheless he said it was good and he ate every last Fork full. We decided to make room for dessert so we share the creme bruelle which was pretty good ...not the best ever tho. Our dining experience took about 90 minutes we were able again to sit at the bar and catch some of the NBA Playoffs that were featured on TV. Overall the dining experience was a 10 out of a 10 five stars as usual of course a few bumps, but nothing to take away from this experience. The Ambiance is always lovely very inviting love the low lighting that it gives as well as the natural light that comes through the windows. The service always on point! I highly recommend you give this place a try if you haven't dined here before...solid restaurant. Have fun and enjoy life :)
