Came here for the pancakes but ended up enjoying our food even more because of the good music. We had their 3 stack pancakes and their omelets with ham,cheddar and pepperjack cheese, eggs, sausages , toast , and hashbrowns. The food was good, nothing super delicious like a 5 star place butbit got the job done, and its standard food but there was nothing wrong with any of the dishes dont get me wrong, the service was good, the server was super nice and very friendly. What we loved was the music they played a lot of good hits that even the people sitting in the booths behind us were jamming along to the songs from Mario, Mariah etc and some K-Ci & Jojo. I wonder who made their playlist. My props to that person! Will definitely return and enjoying their playlist selection. read more

It's an IHOP. We all know what we go there for. Pancakes. Mmmm......blueberry pancakes. With bacon. Eggs. Hash browns. Multiple flavored syrups. Coffee. Breakfast coma. It was ok when I dropped in here while in the area for client visits. For less than $10 I received a heap load of food, and the mountain of blueberry pancakes I engulfed hit the spot. Okay . So, with all the hoopla surrounding IHOP's little marketing name change stunt to IHOB (B for Burgers), I felt compelled to return to IHOP. So the deal thru mid August is the basic cheeseburger , unlimited fries (or a stack of pancakes ), and unlimited soft drinks all for the insanely cheap price of $6.99 . Before I critique the burger , it should be known IHOP will always be IHOP. Their pancakes are always simple, awesome, light , and fluffy. The restaurants are always pretty busy in the morning and empty at night .Hence, the need for the name change . There never ever seems to be any owners ever present in any of the restaurants . Lastly , the waitstaff always consists of mainly teenagers . But, I have to say their restaurants are comfortable , clean , nice decor , and open 24 hours. The burger actually was really good, surprisingly ! Probably the best hamburger bun I ever tasted and nice and warm . It was shiny , light , and very soft. It actually probably could be used as an emergency napkin on the face . The all fresh ground beef had a very distinct , high quality, steak burger taste . The fries were piping hot and made to order, as I requested no salt on them . The burger was dressed with the basic no frills food distributor produce , which included pickle , tomato , and lettuce . I opted to hold off on the secret sauce , which I was told contained mustard . I decided just to use mayo . The burger tasted great, and at $6.99 it is the deal of the century . Where else can you get all that stuff , in a sit down restaurant, all for $6.99? The boy who was my waiter was very efficient and accommodating of my crazy food requests . So the takeaway , yes I will be going back for the burgers again ! I did find it kind of strange that the $6.99 special price was not advertised or listed anywhere in the restaurant . On a business trip to Totowa, this Ihop was one of the few 24 hour places available to us and we ended up going there for five days straight because of the experience. First of all, I have to rave about Linda, our server. Obviously a very hard worker as she was there all five nights we visited. Wonderful attitude, very efficient and needs to be commended for the level of service. She was the only person working 4 out of the 5 nights there and without a single complaint. Even when we pointed out how she had her hands full on a particular busy night, she just shrugged it off and offered the same great service when most people would have jumped on the chance to complain about their jobs. Management should be aware of the great employee they have on their hands. We never got to meet him/her, but the cook needs to be commended as well. The food was always quick, accurate, and tasted great. I've visited many Ihop locations and usually it's 50/50 on how your food turns out, but at this location it was on the mark every time. Sign to direct customers is tiny stick to the front lawn sign which is blocked by another sign, for we took a wrong turn and ended up in a dealership parking lot, next door. Entrance; there was no server to guide with new customers. Waited approximately 5 minutes after showing off ourselves that we were waiting to be seated. Observation: The floors are clean, ambient light, and low music is relaxing. The tables are high-back 24 hr diner tables where one needs to slide in and out of the long seat with narrow entry to get oneself seated. The server: She is not welcoming, courteous, no smiles, no warm greetings, rather casual buddy conversations. She forgot a side plate for starters. Didn't check our table until she brought the entrees. Food: Buttermilk crispy chicken: It was soft, tasted like reheated chicken. I sent it back. The restaurant didn't have the menu item, server offered a substitute or to take it off from our check. Sirloin Steak tips: Onions and mushroom on the steak tips were burned. We couldn't eat it. BLTA sandwich: It didn't not taste like a chef sandwich, but rather tired teenage girlfriend sandwich with cold bacon, missing mayo/ketchup. My son ate half of the half sandwich. Hot chocolates were sooo sweet in fact it is topped with whipped cream covering the entire hot chocolate making it hurt your cheeks. Issues: Server and kitchen staff have lack of communication which server didn't know whether what menu item had run out. We wasted 10 minutes waiting for a dish that they didn't have The utensils were not clean. Server couldn't pull it off. The supervisor/manager apologized; but didn't assure us on solving the issue, instead only took out my plate off the check and discounted our bill %20. This morning breakfast wasn't as great as my first visit here. My breakfast sampler harsh brown ,Sausage ,eggs and bacon were all cold before hitting the table. I honestly was too hungry to call a server that's wasn't as attentive. My pancakes were probably the only hot and tasty meal from order , because it was the last to arrive at the table. Tropical island twist was really good too * free refills My partner said she had enjoyed her breakfasts. Everything on her plate was really warm enough to eat but not as hot as it should have been. My friend and I came here because it is open 24/7 and we were looking for a place to eat and study for finals. And I love iHop. It really disappointed me that our waitress Alex was rushing us out of there. She dropped the bill on the table after like 15 minutes and asked if we needed boxes. Both of our plates were not even halfway done. I would have understood if it was busy and they needed the table, but there were plenty tables, no one waiting and its supposedly 24/7. I had to leave because my laptop died, but my friend stayed and my fried told me she came up to the table and was grabbing the syrups (which were all FULL) and bumping things into her laptop, which made her uncomfortable to the point of packing her stuff up and leaving, and she was STILL working on her food. My friend and I came to Ihop looking for a small birthday dinner. The food was absolutely amazing, and funny enough the jazz music playing seemed to make the food taste better. Our waitress Jennifer added to our experience . She greeted us with a big smile and warming personality. She was very attentive to our needs and seemed to genuinely enjoy helping. After eating one serving of food she brought me a new plate and set of utensils to eat my pancakes with after the main course of my steak meal, I've never had that done before and definitely enjoyed it. I came in with a group of 5 a little past 1 PM. We waited about 15 minutes before being seated. Before anything else, I wanna give some recognition to our waiter, Matt. On point with everything, very polite and friendly even though it was a busy afternoon. He came out with 5 styrofoam cups of water, instead of plastic cups and said "I hope you don't hold it against me but we're out of plastic cups." To be honest, I probably wouldn't even have noticed if he didn't say anything, but it was nice of him to mention it. I ordered the Quick 2 Egg Breakfast, and everyone else ordered the Chicken Fried Steak. The food took a while to make its way out, I'd say around 40 minutes. But it was kind of understandable because the place was pretty packed. Our food was brought out by 2 other waitresses. When everything came out, I noticed that I was missing my order of toast. Before I even got the chance to tell anyone, Matt walked over, looked at our table, and realized that I was missing my toast. This is as traditional as American breakfast can get. Had a very nice breakfast here this morning with my husband and daughter. Everything came out quickly and the food was good. Plus we had a coupon for 20% off, which is always nice. Two meals, two coffees, a kids meal and juice cost us $25 plus tip. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The decor is updated and they have ample parking. I only have two minor complaints- the first as we weren't offered water. I was dying for some H2O, but then again, I never asked for it either. Second minor complaint is our booth had a HUGE rip. Like, a foot long, an inch wide and the stuffing was falling out. And since my daughter was in a high chair I was forced to sit directly on top of the rip in order to help her eat. We did see the manager changing booth seats while we were eating, so I was happy to see that they were keeping up with the place. I did however change my pants as soon as I got home. read more

Classic ihop! This location moves particular quick, the wait is never long & the food comes quick. I have come here twice with my boyfriend. I got the cheese omelet during our first visit and won't again. It was not an omelet. It was a rolled fries egg with a slice of cheese on top. Don't get me wrong, I still ate it, but it was in no way an omelet. On our second visit, I got pancakes with a side of sausage. It was a classic delicious all american breakfast. We stopped in recently for their $0.79 short stack day the pancakes were good to see your place even better . The waitress that served us was just okay nothing special a little bit distracted. Could've come back faster to ask us about refills. we were disappointed that we could only get one stack each for that price we're pretty sure the last time we went, we were offered several stacks for the same price. Watching our budget we held fast and only got one stack each which was little bit disappointing as I can eat a lot more than one stack that is sitting. I don't think they should be open 24hrs. I went around 3am and there wasn't anyone at the front, very unacceptable. There was a police officer on duty and he told me that there is probably an hour wait. I asked him if there was hostess/waiter and he said no that they only had 3 waiters for the night, unacceptable. Route 46 Ihop. Its the same as any other ihop i've been to but there was one thing that really made me want to rate it. There is this one kid that works there that dresses up as a clown and makes balloon animals and objects for the kids that come into that ihop. And even though i'm nowhere near the age to get a balloon animal or anything I watched him while i was eating because he was so entertaining. He made the kids there happy, made the family happy by joking with them and keeping on a happy smile. While he was making a balloon animal for one child from the corner of his eye he saw that one of the other children he made a balloon animal for got his balloon popped as he was going in the car. He quickly excused himself from the table he was currently at and ran outside to make a replacement for the child. That right there is just a pure human being in my eyes. A good natured person that just loves seeing people happy. Hopefully this review gets seen, and people give this kid a chance to host their kid's parties and helps him become successful. I do have his card in one of my jacket pockets so i will update this post when I am able. read more
