I need to start this review by telling you that chicken fried steak is one of my guilty pleasures. I try to eat healthy but this chunk of "meat?" battered in delicious crust, deep fried to heart stopping perfection and slathered in artery clogging sinfully delicious gravy is impossible to resist. Not that I have ever had chicken fried steak at IHOP but I have had it many times in the US and I love it. They call it country fried here at IHOP but the principle is the same. I ordered it with three soft poached eggs and sour dough toast which is in my opinion, how you eat this meal. Being at the IHOP i had to order pancakes as well. The steak was really good, the gravy was thick and tasty and the meal was over all pretty good. I have to say, the watered down tasteless maple syrup kind of wrecked the pancakes for me and the eggs were not really done to perfection but this is not really fine dinning is it? My wife and daughter had omelets and said that the hash browns were delicious. I guess the omelets were ok. The service was very friendly and prompt. The real story here is that my wife left here wallet with her credit cards and I-phone on the table when we left and they grabbed it and put it up at the front counter for us. I would have preferred if they answered it when we were trying to find it by calling from miles away but at least they never stole anything. Next week we have to go to wausa. My wife has a gift card so I thought that maybe we would try it again so I went to yelp to see the new menu with burgers. Last time we where there (don't remember the date) maybe a year and a half ago I remember the poor service, waiting almost an hour for food because the waitress forgot to put in the order. I thought this place would be awesome come hungry leave happy. Overpriced, undercooked, small portions. Don't know if we will ever go to an IHOP again. You know what they say about first impressions. Table we got seated at clearly wasn't wiped clean from previous customers and the menus were nasty. I had to wash my hands after handling the menu. Service was below average on a Sunday afternoon. Food was typical IHOP, flavorless and cooked poorly. I couldn't eat the bottom of my hash browns because they resembled a soggy beef jerky. If I never eat at this IHOP again, it will still be too soon. There are multiple restaurants locally that have much fresher food and locally sourced. read more

The place wasn't very busy when I was there but the service was atrocious. I've been to quite a few Ihops across the country and this by far was the worst. Our waitress seemed disinterested and did not check on us during our meal. She just stood over by the counter chatting with another waitress the entire time we were there. Our order took too long for what little food we got. Two tables that ordered after us (that had more food and more complex food) got their orders before us. Their chicken noodle soup tastes like condensed from a can. I do not recommend this place to anyone and from now on I'll be making the trip to Stevens Point to eat at an Ihop. read more

Went to go eat out at this place and the people after us got seated first. We didn't even go at a busy time, and when we did get seated, our server seated us at a very small table that you barely have room to eat. He checked up on us once. Got my boyfriend's drink wrong.When we finally got our food, we only started eating and our server came and dropped off the check and told us it was no rush. I mean if it wasn't a rush then he should have waited a while longer to give us the check. He seemed so nice to all his other customers besides my table. We left without tipping. I really love the food but some of the servers there needs to clean up their act!! read more

I don't know what all these other people are complaining about, I love IHOP! The wife and I went here last week to spend a gift card left over from Christmas. We started out with an order of mozzarella sticks; which were huge, well cooked, perfectly breaded. My wife ordered a Belgian waffle with fruit, I went with some of IHOP's delicious buttermilk pancakes with eggs and hash browns. Everything was delicious! I don't often eat eggs and pancakes for dinner, but this was a really great meal. We'll be back again. read more

Love their over priced food! They need to work on their slow service. If weren't for the stuffed french toast I would not eat here.

Was very excited to see an IHOP in town. I previously had lives in Wausau and moved about 9 years ago. We were on our way through town and stopped because my son has been asking to go. The restaurant was clean and food came out quick. Food was great no complaints. I would give 5 starts but when t was time to leave I took the kids to the bathroom and they needed some work. There was toilet paper all over the place. Considering we were there right at opening this morning I can only assume it was from the night before. very very slow service. if your looking for a quick easy meal this isn't the place. it took an hour to get our food and our server gave us the wrong change. they seemed quite inconsistent because people who arrived after us were getting their food before us. i used to love this place as a kid but it's just not the same. we felt slightly judged by the servers and other costumers for having a simple, average volume conversation. i miss the restaurant i went to as a kid. quite disappointing read more

Never again. I love IHop... just not this one. We were seated and the hostess just stood there at our table staring at us for a little while. Creepy. Our coffee was cold and it took 15 minutes before we could get a hot pot (there were only 6 other people in the restaurant). Our waitress was pleasant but the conversation was awkward. She kept asking about our phones that were sitting on the table. The food wasn't the greatest. Granted, I liked my crepes, but my husbands waffles were cold and my sons pancakes were "off". His bacon was cold and his sausage was still frozen in the middle. The waitress was nice and took off my husbands meal from the ticket since he didn't eat anything. Stopped here passing through Wisconsin on a family vacation. Was looking for a place to get a quick, hearty breakfast and a clean bathroom (especially with a toddler in tow and diaper changes). IHOP delivered! Our waitress brought out drinks quickly, food quickly and everything was delish. Bathrooms were clean and I could change my little one without being grossed out. Only criticism is the tables were packed in.... I kept bumping the guy behind me's table when I moved and my mom had a hard time squeezing in. Overall the table configuration was not ideal but do-able. Would stop again! read more

They have re-opened. Went there 12/23/12 for breakfast. Tables still jammed together six inches from each other. No chance for private conversation. Prices-HIGH. Over 16 dollars for breakfast for 2. Quality of food-POOR. Under done omelet (runny eggs) , burned toast- replaced with cold toast (couldn't spread the butter ). Waitress asked at check out if our meal was "o.k". We said "No". I am VERY dissappointed with our experience with IHOP in Rib Mtn! My husband and I ordered the western omlette sandwich which was supposed to come with sliced ham and cheese in the sandwich, and green peppers, diced ham, and onion in the omlette. Our waitress brought out our food, and then said she was going on break, and another waitress would take over for her. The first thing we noticed was there was NO sliced ham in the sandwich. I checked the omlette...3 little pieces of green pepper, and 3 little pieces of diced ham, and a few onions. My husband's omlette was a little better, but NO sliced ham was on his sandwich either. We waited about 5 minutes, and the "other" waitress never came to check on us. We did eat the sandwich...we were both hungry...it was edible, but very dry. Finally the "other" waitress showed up with our bill. I told her my complaints, and got an "I"m sorry, I will mention it to the cook". She never offered us any compensation. I came home and wrote out a complaint to the company. 3 days later the manager of the Wausau IHOP called apologizing for our negative experience and offering to send us a gift certificate for the mistake. That was 4 weeks ago...I'm still waiting....We will NEVER go back! read more
