First of all, the pulled pork was good but didn't have a lot of taste I had to dump my entire sauce thing on them 3/5. Second the Apple sauce and mashed potatoes were 5/5 that's why I'm giving them a 3 stars. The service was great and our waiter was very nice.

The food and service were good, but the music! [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we go to eat out I'd like to be able to hear the people I'm out to eat with, we could barely hear our waitress and had to keep asking her to repeat herself.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We did the online reservation sitting and it worked excellent, was able to walk right in and sit down. I had the fish and it was more than o could eat, took a piece home, my son had the Bbq dinner and had plenty as well, took some home. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It'll be awhile before we come back again, hate leaving after eating with a headache.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We got there right at 11 am hardly anybody in the restaurant. They sat us right next to another group of people instead of alternating booths. Not sure what has happened to the food here but everything was heavily salted. The potato was dipped in salt and out on the plate??? The steak was over salted as was the rice. I understand the need to season but season with other spices not over season with salt. A lot of people are salt sensitive or can't have salt in their diet. Why over salt? It was just overwhelming of salt to enjoy the meal Plus, a steak was asked for medium well and they brought out medium rare. They have dropped in status on the food preparation from the last time I was there.

We came in on a Saturday and were seated immediately. Our server was a slow in getting to us but then service was good. Loved the hot rolls and butter. My husband ordered the ribs and loved them. Perfectly cooked! I ordered the steak and shrimp. Steak was cooked perfect medium rare and the shrimp were very good as well. The loaded baked potatoes were great. Also cooked and loaded well. The food was all outstanding and we will go back. However, we will ask for a booth or table for 4 even though we are 2. The tables for 2 are very small and made eating a bit awkward. We asked the waitress to move the bucket of peanuts just to have room for drinks and our salads.

I love TRH, but this location is just poorly managed. Ordered a t-bone to go. In all honesty, food was decent enough. At walk-up pick up window, girl bagged order in front of me. I asked if the silverware had salt and pepper packets. She said, no. I then asked her if I could get some salt and pepper. She replied, "sorry we're all out". I guess she was too lazy to go to the back and check or to put some bulk salt and pepper in the little 2oz side container. Got back to hotel and "silverware" was the cheapest that money could buy. See photo of white fork and knife. I basically had to eat steak with hands. (Compare to black utensils from Mexican restaurant the following night.) Obviously franchisee is super cheap, doesn't properly train staff, and doesn't care about repeat customers. Wonts go there again.

We got the shrimp skewers and citrus mussels with the curry sauce to die for! We kept slurping up the sauce after the bread was gone! The garlic mayo complemented the shrimp perfectly. We also ordered the forager pizza. With the crispy crust, sweet fennel sausage and the mushrooms - I am in pizza heaven! Hubby ordered a few summer beer and I had the pineapple cider. Both were light and refreshing. Our server provided great recommendations and checked on us frequently throughout our meal. Overall verdict - highly recommend it for causal dining, happy hour or a special meal. Way to support local farms and businesses. Love the outdoor seating which is great in the summer!

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE -- DO NOT GO TO WAUSAU MINE…read more We were visiting Wausau for the weekend and decided to check out Wausau Mine because it looked like a fun place on the website. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER. We were a group of 16 people, including 9 kids. Around 1:30 that afternoon, we called to see if they took reservations. The woman we spoke with was great and told us they could accommodate us. Awesome! A few hours later, someone from the restaurant actually called US and asked if we wanted their private room upstairs because they were getting several other smaller-party reservations. With 9 kids in our group, we were thrilled and obviously said YES. We arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation and were seated immediately -- but not in the private room. My sister-in-law and I went back to the staff member who seated us and explained that someone from the restaurant had specifically called us about the private room and that we had accepted it. Their response? There was another party upstairs and they didn't want to "ruffle any feathers." Ummm... what about OUR feathers? We didn't ask for this room. Your restaurant called us and offered it to us. We simply accepted what you offered. Mistakes happen. We understand that. So we asked for a manager. The first manager came over, and honestly, she was great. We explained what happened, and she said she would get her boss. Enter Cindy. We explained the entire situation AGAIN. Instead of an apology or even acknowledging that this was frustrating, Cindy asked if we had filled out the online form. We explained AGAIN that we didn't request the private room through an online form. Someone from the restaurant called US and offered it to us. After going back and forth, Cindy threw her hands up and walked away saying: "I don't know what you want me to do about this." Well, Cindy... honestly? AN APOLOGY. That's it. We weren't demanding free food. We weren't demanding money. We weren't screaming. We weren't asking for anything unreasonable. We wanted someone to acknowledge that the restaurant had called us, offered us the room, we accepted it, and then the restaurant failed to honor what it had promised. Apparently, that was too much to ask. So we asked the first manager if there was another manager on duty. She offered to get the GM, Dan. Dan eventually came over -- after we had already eaten and paid our bill, definitely a coincidence because I noticed him peeking over at us multiple times. We explained everything AGAIN, including how Cindy had treated us and that we were simply looking for an apology. His response? "I'll talk to her." That's it. Someone in our group actually had to ask: "So you can't even apologize to us?" Only THEN did Dan apologize. At that point, we were completely over it and walked out. Unfortunately, the food didn't exactly redeem the experience. It was mediocre at best, and several people in our group couldn't even eat their meals. To be fair, our server was amazing, and the first manager we spoke with was also great. Unfortunately, their good customer service was completely overshadowed by the way Cindy and Dan handled the situation. Here's the thing: Mistakes happen. We get it. But when a restaurant makes a mistake, the appropriate response is: "We're so sorry. We made a mistake. Let's see what we can do." Because here's a wild concept: Sometimes customers just want an apology. We came in with 16 people ready to spend our money and enjoy our evening. Instead, we left frustrated and incredibly disappointed. 0/10 customer service. 0/10 management. Mediocre food. Would not recommend. And we will absolutely NOT be returning. If you're considering Wausau Mine, save yourself the headache and spend your money somewhere that actually values its customers. And Cindy... if a customer is asking you for an apology, the answer really shouldn't be that difficult.
