We left before we even got our food because there were fruit flies on our table, hair in our drinks, the other tables were dirty, there was a worker toying arlund with his cowoerkers hair, and they were killing flies above the pass through window. They saw us watching them and quickly turned away and put the fly swatters away. It was very dissappointing because we went to another Ihop in Wausau about a month ago and they didnt have any fly issues when we were there. We waited over an hour to get our meal. It was busy but that seems like a very long wait. We got our food at different times, and the kitchen was inexplicably out of chicken tenders. I don't have high standards for IHOP as it is but this location is horrible, especially for being in a resort town that relies on tourists. We waited 20 minutes for a table which isn't bad during peak breakfast hours. But the guy at the register didn't seem to know what he was doing. The "hostess" was actually a waitress with her own tables so every once in a while, she'd come back to the hostess stand to see who was next on the list or to take the names of the 4 families who had walked in 7 minutes before. When we finally ordered, our waiter was actually very proficient. He read our orders back to us. It seems as though the kitchen had some issues. It took 30 minutes to get our food. The extra crispy bacon we asked for came out barely cooked at all and avocado on the side was already turning brown/grey when it was served. There was no silverware on the table so it was another five minutes before we got that. There are a ton of other places to go in this area (Mr. Pancake is good but they are only open weekends).so this IHOP should be a last resort. read more

Well, the husband and the daughter received their meals and I had to wait an additional 5 min for mine. Then the waitress brings out an omelet with cheese that was cold! Worst meal ever at an IHOP. Started with the waiter spilling the ice water all over our table. Next came the coffee cup with lip stick still on the brim of the cup. Next cup not much cleaner that had a ring of old coffee caked on the inside. Then came the hash browns seasoned with someone's hair. The table next to us got the same seasoning on their potatoes. Wrong pancakes got blueberry instead of whole wheat. One of the air conditions vents in the ceiling was covered with plastic to catch the condensation and they decided to try and drain it over a table with people eating. If I could give zero stars, I would. I frequent IHOP Restaurants whenever I go out of town and this by far has been the worst location (Wisconsin Dells) that I have visited. We were seated promptly (only good thing to happen), although we were seated in an area where the ceiling tiles were missing , it took 15 minutes for them to figure out who the server was going to be for our table for us to even get our drink orders placed. Since we sat for so damn long, we already had our meals decided so we went ahead and ordered at the same time. Our meals arrived in batches, we asked for salt and pepper...never arrived so I ended up not eating half my meal. Two out of four of our utensils were still dirty, not water spots either...you can clearly see food still stuck on them. We didn't get any drink refill service nor did we get any table check ups on our satisfaction. I finally had to go chase someone down to get our check so we can get the hell out of there. When we mentioned our dissatisfaction to our server, in a very respectful way, she acted without any care in the world nor did she offer to send a manager over to our table...which made it even worse. I will not visit this location again and I do not recommend anyone else do it either. read more

Pretty bad experience here. Came the day after Christmas; the host tossed four adult menus at us even though we were a party of two kids and two adults (no kid menus or crayons). It was a long time before anyone came to offer us drinks. I was craving avocados and ordered one of the two breakfast items that offered avocados; it took almost an hour for our food to come. We saw several other tables who were there after us get their food before us. My kids are both disabled and taking them to a restaurant is always a challenge. My autistic son was just bouncing up and down and throwing a fit by the time the food finally arrived. When our food finally did come, my omelette wasn't topped with avocados as promised in the menu. I pointed this out to the server and he returned a few minutes later to announce that the kitchen's avocados were not ripe. Thanks; that would have been nice to know when I ordered it as I would have ordered something completely different (and maybe then we would have gotten our food a little sooner?). No one offered any kind of a discount on our meal for the long wait time or this error. I get being understaffed for the holidays, but this goes beyond understaffed; they just didn't have it together. Would not eat here again, at least not during the holidays. read more

Service was perfect. Alina was attentive & sweet. The harvest & grain pancakes hit the spot. They were nice & hot. I like the carbonation in their sodas too. My only objection were the flies that were buzzing near our table giving me the feeling that I was eating at a festival instead of an indoor restaurant. However, Lisa P. came to the rescue and salvaged the DAY! Here attention to detail and interest in ensuring that we had a GREAT experience was greatly appreciated. The food was top notch, the restaurant was clean, and the service by Lisa P. was extraordinary. My ONLY complaint was with the young lady who checked us out at the cash register. I asked IF they had any type of discounts - senior, military, etc. At first she appeared to not understand me so I asked specifically about military discounts. She said "YES" but didn't know how much the discount was and proceeded to ring up my ticket without going any further with the query. A training issue has been identified. Please correct. Greeted by our "waitress" 20 minutes after sitting. We were thankful just to be sitting at a table and not in Lobby, so no biggie. 15 minutes later our drinks arrive, we order breakfast. 2 breakfast bowls and a stack of pancakes. Waitress occasionally refilling her tables with coffee, but never us. She's Literally at the table next to us and doesn't offer refill. If you're going to make me wait an hour for our food at least keep us fueled with coffee. Food comes at 12:00 and is an absolute disgrace. Cold, looks like someone threw slop into a bowl and served it. Have to walk over to waitress station and ask for pancake syrup and other condiments not brought. My 9 year old could do better. We stopped in earlier in the week when it was slightly raining not much. They sat us outside at a table that was near a pipe connected to the restaurant and it was draining water. I mean a constant gush of water. You would think common sense would have prevailed. But no and we requested to sit elsewhere only later to see that they sat another family there. Incredible. This place is a lifesaver with my picky children that only feel like eating chocolate chip pancakes in the evening. I was upset to see they removed nutella crepes off their menu but it gave me a chance to try out the Swedish crepes with lingonberries. Very good. Also staff is very friendly. read more
