We visited this Famous Dave's in Wisconsin Dells for lunch on a Tuesday in May, 2023. While the restaurant is on the main strip that runs through Wisconsin Dells, it was very quiet. this probably reflected that it was mid-week and also pre-season. We had previously been to the restaurant's location in Oakton, Virginia. We were greeted quickly at the door, and shown to our seats. Upon reviewing the menu, we were quite surprised by how expensive the prices were. Recognizing that meat and grocery prices had increased over the past year and that we were in a touristy area, we proceeded to order. I ordered a Texas Beef Brisket Sandwich ($17.99) which came with one side and spicy Hell-fire pickles. I ordered the Garlic Red-Skin Mashed Potatoes as my side. My husband ordered a Georgia Pulled Pork Sandwich ($15.99), with French Fries. Overall, the food was tasty but a little light on the quantity of meat on the sandwiches and a bit dry. That said, Famous Dave's offers a choice of extra sauces at each table so that was quickly remedied. As mentioned earlier, we found the restaurant to be expensive. Upon reaching home, we compared the Wisconsin Dells prices for our sandwiches with the same items in Oakton, Virginia (a suburb of Washington, DC), and found that EACH sandwich was priced $4 more expensive in the Wisconsin Dells. The restaurant was clean, and inviting. Service was good for in-restaurant dining. They also have a take-out window. Food quality: 4/5 Value for money: 2/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Service: 5/5

What's not to love about Famous Dave's? Great food, good service, clean and tidy, fun atmosphere.

Omg the food was too delicious had to bring some back to Chicago.I can't wait to go back. Most definitely we will be stopping here again next time we're in town.

I've bought the sauce. I've bought the sweet and spicy pickles. However I think this was my first time eating in a Famous Dave's. We got cheese curds which my son chowed down on - they were tasty. I got the beef brisket. While I thought it was a little light on the amount of beef, it was very good as super tender. Wife got rib tips which her and my son ate and enjoyed.

Somewhat surprised to see this location has as high of an average star rating as it does. I've been to a few different Famous Dave's locations. This one is interestingly decorated but screams were just after your tourism dollar. On each of my two most recent visits (yesterday & few months ago) I found the service was very impersonal. I had to ask for a drink refill yesterday and almost could feel the waitress was bothered by having to do so. I used to enjoy a dinner at Famous Dave's but of late the quality just doesn't seem worth the price. My family of four can expect about $100 bill wirh sodas. It's a palatable meal but just doesn't do anymore than fill the stomach. As I write my review I'm questioning how I came to give a three star rating. It's not a bad meal. It's just not anymore than average. If I'm in the Dell's spending my tourism dollars I just want a little more wow factor.

Came here for lunch after a day in the Dells and found ourselves a little disappointed. We both got the 2 meats and 1 side dishes with brisket, boneless wings, and Mac and cheese. The brisket was a really fatty piece and lacked much smoke flavor. The chewiness of it really made it undesirable as well. The boneless wings were very good, fried perfectly and well sauces. The Mac and cheese was lack luster and didn't have much flavor. The restaurant itself is actually a pretty nice looking place, but I wouldn't recommend coming here on a rainy day. The floor was so slippery I thought I would break my neck (and it wasn't even wet) so I can't imagine how bad it truly gets.

Clean location that looks reasonably new. Service was good. The food was so-so. Definitely not worth what we paid.

Consistently good no matter the location. Service was prompt and with a smile. Brisket was just right as usual.

The dining area felt quite crowded, which made it a little uncomfortable and harder to fully enjoy the experience. The donuts, while decent, were a bit too powdery for my taste and could have been better in texture and balance. That said, there were also some strong positives. The variety of different dishes was enjoyable, and many of them tasted really good. One standout was the potatoes--they were especially flavorful and well-prepared. On top of that, the service was excellent. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was taken care of, which really added to the overall experience. In the end, while there are a few areas that could be improved, the combination of good food, great service, and standout items like the potatoes made it a solid dining experience.

What a wonderful breakfast we had here. You walk up to a cashier where you pay for the family style…read morebreakfast. You are offered add ons like fresh fruit and speciality coffees. It is a pretty tight room so you are seated close to others. One side of the table has chairs and the other side is a bench (probably to get more people to fit in?). Our waiter was great (very attentive even though he was quite busy) and explained how the family style worked (if we wanted seconds of anything he would bring it out). He first brought out our drinks of hot tea and milk (which were included) and the fresh & warm buttermilk doughnuts. Great start to our breakfast. Then he brought out bowls of scrambled eggs, home fries, biscuits, gravy, pancakes, sausage, and kielbasa. The restaurant, including the bathroom, was very clean. There is a gift shop as you exit with a lot of unique findings for yourself or gifts.

Food was okay. But the service ? Horrible. It wasn't all that busy but of course, they were short…read morestaffed which I definitely understand but people shouldn't show their frustrations of that on customers, it's disrespectful. We were seated then the waitress Heather comes over. She kinda looked at us and scoffed then continued to wait her two tables . We Waited about 15/20 minutes for her to come over and introduce herself And when she did, she did it a little quickly like she was in a rush then said she would be right back and went to another table . That's fine. But we were ready to at least order water. She didn't give us menus until we got the water. Seemed stressed but she only had a couple tables and there was at least two other waitresses running around with her. So we get our water and I ended up with the rocket pop mimosa which was amazing btw, order it!!! It's not good until the Popsicle melts though. Anyways, we finally get our Order in and wait about 35 minutes for our food, mind you she didn't check on us after we got our drinks. Didn't give us the silverware or napkins we were missing. She checked on the other tables but not us. Didn't ask for a refill on water or offer a pitcher of water for the table of 6 (mind you), just crazy. Food finally comes and still no napkins even after we asked for some. Didn't give the Apple butter we asked for or sour cream so we asked again. By then she seemed annoyed. Some of us got biscuits, some got cornbread and instead of individually putting it on peoples plates, it was on one big plate. Not sure if they are lazy or if that's what they do but didn't seem right. Heather comes back with the rest of our stuff and she asked if everything was good now and we said yes except something with my mom's food, I honestly forgot what it was but I know that Heather corrected her on what she said which I found ridiculous because regardless it was the same thing, just said differently and it's disrespectful to try to correct a customer as though my mom didn't know what she was talking about. So she gets whatever it was and comes back. She then kinda looked around our table and was like "sorry guys we're short staffed, and corporate just came in so I'm in the kitchen giving them my demands since I'm finally heard" and we're like uhm yea good for you, except that not really a reason to abandon your table. SHES then said "I'm fighting for myself because they only pay me $2.32 to do this and I barely make tips.." and I just thought wow. Because it was almost like she wanted us to feel sorry for her and try to coarse us into tipping her, which we did although the service wasn't good. I don't tip people for them doing their job, I tip them for going above and beyond their job that's asked of them. However in this case , she did neither. --- this was three years ago when I last came here, just thought I'd share. Not sure if service has been better since then.
