I'm a woman, but I have experience working on construction and plumbing projects. While I always consult with a certified plumber for final approval, I also do the necessary legwork to ensure that plans and materials are ready in order to avoid delays. I couldn't tell whether the salesman was having a bad day, making assumptions based on my gender, or is simply unhelpful by nature. Either way, even if he didn't have all the answers, a respectful conversation, honest feedback, or a recommendation would have gone a long way.
