Garden salad (left), 2 side orders of Swedish meatballs (right), chicken tenders (back left)

My friend and I stopped by the IKEA restaurant before browsing for new couches. Never shop on an empty stomach. I'd never eaten at an IKEA before, but was pleasantly surprised with my experience. It's reminiscent of a school cafeteria where you take a tray, get on line, and let the staff know what you'd like at each station. There are tons of tables, so lack of seating was not a problem. I got two sides orders of the meatballs and a garden salad. The meatballs were delicious and I will likely be ordering them at all future IKEA visits. The food was also incredibly affordable. For the salad, meatballs, and a fountain drink, I paid about $7.50 (as of Jan '26).

KAFFEREP CAKE WITH A RASPBERRY FILLING TOPPED WITH A CREAMY LAYER AND COVERED WITH AN ALMOND PASTE

Real Men Eat Lingonberry Jam ‍ Came to IKEA Brooklyn for a "quick" look at shelving, ended up in a committed relationship with a plate of meatballs. Forget the furniture--the real engineering masterpiece is the Swedish Meatball platter. I'm talking a tactical stack of meatballs, French fries, and peas, all swimming in a lake of gravy with a side of lingonberry jam. Epic doesn't even cover it. It's the kind of meal that makes you feel like you could assemble a 12-piece wardrobe using only a toothpick and sheer willpower. And the views of the NYC harbor? Solid. But the real view was on my tray. Also the customer service was great. Pro Tip: Skip the chocolate cake. Skip the cheesecake. The KAFFEREP cake (the one with the raspberry filling, creamy layer, and almond paste cover) is a total game changer. Life-altering. It's the GOAT of Swedish desserts. I may have forgotten why I came here, and I definitely don't have a cart, but my soul is full and my blood is 15% gravy now. Worth it. Location: 1 Beard St, Brooklyn Order: Meatballs + Kafferep Cake = Peak Performance.

We shopped to buy items for my son's dorm move-in. It was past lunchtime so we decided to get some lunch. We got 24 Swedish meatballs (on two plates) and a salmon lunch for my wife. The food was good, and tasty for three hungry shoppers. While we were in line I saw people with carts that holds several trays. I wanted one but couldn't find on. Then I saw someone struggling to push his carts as the trays clattered from the vibration - and I was glad that I didn't have a cart. The selection of food looks healthy, and it is tasty.

Went to IKEA for a quick lunch and left with... a self-assembly chocolate bunny. Only IKEA would make dessert a DIY project. It's ridiculously cute, comes in pieces you snap together like furniture (but with less swearing), and honestly, it's a fun little surprise for both kids and adults. Taste-wise? Pretty standard milk chocolate. Nothing fancy, but you're not here for the flavor -- you're here for the novelty of "building" a bunny before eating it. And for $2? Totally worth it. A small joy in edible, IKEA form.

Plant based hot dog after shopping

Decided to try the plant based hot dog after shopping today. This is what I got. I told the server, "This doesn't look right." She said, "Well, you ordered plant based hot dog. This is what they look like." It was only $1 so there's that.

Great view of Brooklyn from the cafeteria. Worth the ride from the UWS.

I'm there for the food which is DELICIOUS and AWESOME. (Never mind the cheapo furniture crap; ok but I do love their inexpensive LADDA NiMH AA/AAA rechargeable batteries -- many film production folks use them!). But back to the food: love the Swedish meatballs.. their desserts are good too. Plus, it's so reasonable! Especially if you have an IKEA family card, you get discounts, which include FREE COFFEE! Beat that overpriced Star*ucks!

It's been ages since my sister and I visited Ikea, but recently, we made the trek just for their Swedish Meatballs and Chicken Tenders with Fries. We did happen to meet up with a friend afterward, but trust me, I woke up and left the house that day with only the restaurant in mind. * Swedish Meatballs Ikea is famous for its Swedish Meatballs, and honestly, what's not to like? Eight, 12, or 16-piece meatballs served with mashed potatoes, peas, cream sauce, and lingonberry jam--so yummy and delicious. * Chicken Tenders with Fries I'm not sure if we came on an off day, but holy moly, why was this so salty? The portion was generous though: huge chicken tenders with half a plate of fries. **Don't forget to buy an ice cream cone on your way out from Ikea!

Macaroni and cheese & Swedish meatballs
    Andres A.

Not bad. Variety was kind of lacking, especially since they ran out of some items before dinner time. But what I did end up eating did the job. I was personally surprised with the good flavor on the mac & cheese and the Swedish meatballs were as usual delicious. Can always appreciate the free coffee for being an IKEA family member. Additionally, the fact that a full structured meal costs around $13 when you can easily reconstruct it by just ordering sides of everything for about half of that price feels very representative of IKEA's business model. Want to save some serious cash? Build it yourself!

Garlic Lemon Cod, Garlic Bread, Chocolate Cake, Cheesecake

The restaurant in Ikea has some solid food, and I typically go for the following: Chicken Tenders, Fries, and Chocolate Cake. Sadly, they didn't have any tenders and fries ready, so I decided to try something new. It didn't disappoint. I will admit the wait in line for food was pretty long, but if you're not standing in line alone and have someone to converse with, the wait is worth it in my opinion. I love how there's plenty of families who eat here; it makes the restaurant feel inviting and warm. Garlic Lemon Cod: It's perfectly breaded and crispy. There's not a large portion, but the peas and mashed potatoes fill you up. The potatoes aren't very buttery and don't have any flavor outside of... potatoes. Same thing for the peas; they just taste like peas. I wouldn't say the mashed potatoes and peas taste bad; they just taste clean. Cheesecake: The bottom crust has some sort of cinnamon or spice taste to it and is soft, melting into your mouth with the cheese. Chocolate Cake: This is rich and decadent, and I'm convinced this is the definition of what everyone thinks of when they say they want chocolate cake.

Its almost a love-hate feeling when coming to this Ikea. Prices for food among all things have gone up, but that is life and this warehouse is still standing. You can't help but to feel relaxed as you're sipping free coffee/tea (family members program) at their clean bright cafeteria on their functional furniture. Always check out the grocery store and clearance - you'll never know what you'll find. And getting a free gift for your birthday, you'll at least want to check in once a year... ...wait... where am I? What time is it??

it hurts my heart to rate you this low ikea. but wow my first time in ikea in new york. wow the amount of times i told my friends i wrote all my college essays in ikea and they were like ya same but i did it in a whole foods. LOL but wow we were walking all over brooklyn cuz our reservation wasn't for so much later. but i was like can we please please go to ikea even though it's out of the way and we DID! wow. so much nostalgia. but my friend isn't fun we didn't get to go through the exhibitions. we just went to the restaurant and i got plant balls and garlic toast. it was lowkey bad though im ngl. like it tasted like it was just sitting out there for a while. they were both cold and hard like wtffff. like where was the tlc i was used to in california??? it was actually just fine. i don't think if i go back to new york i will go out of my way to go to ikea LOL. it was such a let down.

    Strawberry Ice cream
    Jake Z.

This review is for the food court only. The dishes here are honestly pretty dang good, surprisingly given that it's a furniture store. The meatball portion is very generous since they give you like 13 meatballs, some mashed potato, and veggies. The veggies didn't taste very fresh but the meatballs with the sauce was very good. You can hard pass on the strawberry ice cream - the texture was so weird that it didn't really resemble traditional ice cream at all. Also, the prices were actually pretty cheap for all the meals you can get here.

Their cold brew has dark and rich notes of chocolate and almond, which couldn't be more fitting for a pastry and bake shop. Whenever I'm in the neighborhood, I try and make a point to grab a cup here. And while I've only been here a couple of times, the staff has been polite, and the coffee has been consistent - the latter being an issue for many shops. Baked doesn't try to be too cool or anything other than what it is. It's an unpretentious bake shop that offers a perfectly chilled cold brew that deserves to be savored with each sip and doesn't break the bank. It's worth making the trip even and I'll be doing so, even if I'm not exactly in the neighborhood.

I would never have guessed that the cake was caramel soaked because it wasn't awfully sweet. Similarly, I had no clue the ganache was also caramel chocolate. Overall, it was a phenomenal slice which made me look up the bakery. Based on their website, they specialize in cakes and brownies. They have about 30 different cake options ranging from citrus passionfruit cake to caramel apple cake. Too bad there are more horrific bad service reviews than I would like to trust to order a cake from here for a big day. But hasn't scared me off from coming in person to try a few of these slices.
