Some good quality pizza at Ike's. What really impressed me is how fresh everything seems--everything came out steaming hot. The pizza crust is tasty and the toppings are plentiful. Also, the potato slices are pretty awesome. A little on the expensive side for what you get (when compared to other pizzerias in Springfield and Eugene). They make a pretty good pizza at this place. I thought, when I moved into the area several years ago, I would wind up being a fairly regular cusotmer since I like pizza occasionally, and my girlfriend likes their chicken. (NOTE: I retired out of the restaurant supply business so I am not unfamiliar with restaurant kitchens.) There are very few places to eat between McKenzie Bridge and Vida on the highway here, so Ike's had that going for it. Sadly, though, it has all kinds of problems: It's dark and always appears in need of a really good cleaning. The outside, particularly the exterior facing the highway is uninviting. There's also a video poker room which brings in people who like to gamble, I suppose. As I said the pizza is fine. The chicken is bought from a frozen distributor and I'm guessing "finished" in a deep fat fryer. It's a good product, but it is a "product" nonetheless. Same with the poppers. The Jo-Jo's are also fried and usually soggy by the time they're plated. The prices they get are amazing. On the other hand, I rarely see more than a couple of cars parked out in front. Their hours seem to be somewhat irregular. I haven't been there in months, simply because I just don't want to pay their prices. (It's a pizza place, for godssakes! It's not Tavern on the Green.) The shame is that this place could be made into a real successful establishment with some attention to the basics. Light the place up, inside and out. Price your your offerings to suit the local clientele. (Other locals have complained about prices here, too. ) read more

Stood in a one person deep line for over 10 minutes. Placed a carryout order and was told 25 minutes. It ended up taking well over 45 minutes before one staff asked me what I had ordered. I'm updating my review because I want to give some advice to the owners. I come here often because I live nearby and there aren't many options. I feel like I'm speaking on the behalf of a lot of peoples opinions. Please please please make your dough a little thinner OR cook your pizza longer. Every pizza (besides your cheese and pepperoni) every time is severely undercooked. And I don't know of anyone who likes a doughy pizza. In addition to that, the toppings seem undercooked. I know you guys will cook it longer if requested, but in the instance that I forget to say that it's a real bummer. I know this has turned many people off from becoming a return customer. I've always been curious about this place since I go east a few times a year. I finally had the opportunity to stop by a couple of weeks ago and I was super excited. Can't speak for the pizza since I didn't order pizza, but I did get their famous broasted chicken and potato slices. The chicken was freshly fried and was pretty crunchy; flavor and batter was okay. The potato slices were also very fresh and piping hot, but not really crunchy so it wasn't my favorite. The food did take a while to get ready but it is broasted chicken so that's expected. The staff was working really hard (short staffed), but were still very nice and helpful. I didn't get a receipt so I can't confirm, but I *think* they charge a fee for using a credit card and for to go orders. I'm always game for good broasted chicken! If that's what you're looking for, this is THE best place to get it. Think deep fried chicken, crispy skin, moist meat, fried up to delicious perfection. The drive and scenery is beautiful. They have outdoor seating that is relaxing and amazing. It's one of my favorite places in the spring to visit and eat outside. Sitting in the sun, enjoying the breeze and blooming flowers around me. The restaurant is fairly large, being a pizza parlor primarily. They have large tables, for families and groups. There's an arcade on one side, with games and claw machines, and video lottery on the other side, for adult entertainment. So there is something for everyone here. The pizza is pretty good. I always enjoy a good pepperoni pizza, and so does my husband. We typically get a large order (I forget how many pieces) of broasted chicken and then a medium pizza, and for three of us there are leftovers, but we all get what we want and are full. I think the price is relatively expensive, especially after factoring in the almost 50 mile round trip to get there and back. But, I also think it's absolutely worth it. The food, service, scenery, and relaxation factored in there, I love it. The staff seems fine. I mean, they stand at a counter and you tell them what you want. It's not exactly a fine dining restaurant. There's nothing wrong with it, but there's also nothing special about it either. But I have no complaints in the staff department. I do love the fact it's a local, family owned business. I've been eating here for many, many years, and absolutely plan to keep returning. I've been coming to this place since I was little and its changed owners many times since then. Each owner puts their own twist on the place and this one's is a frozen yogurt station. It's pretty good, but there's only three favors. The pizza was good, I actually really liked how little sauce it had on it. I felt that just the slight glaze of tomato sauce brought out the flavor of the cheese and the crust and other toppings without overpowering the whole dish. The pizza is absolutely worth the wait. One of the best pizza's we have ever had and my husbands dad owned as many as 9 pizza shops at one point. It looked a little bit hodgepodge inside, rustic decor with a large bloodthirsty Sasquatch, saws, Simpson's memorabilia, and Oregon Ducks stuff. Don't let the decor fool you though. The Caesar salad was good as were the mozzarella sticks. Servers were disorganized but again, I can forgive the servers, decor and wait because the food, and especially pizza, were spot on. 1. Literally every table not taken was dirty. Went to the counter to ask for a wet towel to clean one so I could eat inside to avoid the 96 degree temperature outside. I thought by bringing the issue to the staff at the counter they would clean my table for me. Nope. The guy hands me the towel so I had to clean it myself. 2. The chicken and potatoes arrived almost 20 minutes after the pizza, but she did apologize. 3. We decided to try and Ike's pizza for a to go order during the coronavirus situation. We got the giant one loaded with all the meat, Called the big foot. Not only is it big it feels like it weighs 5 pounds!This is without doubt the best pizza in the area and one of the best I've ever had! I make my own pizza dough and I am a connoisseur of fine gourmet pizzas and this one was at the top. Besides it is a very high-quality Italian sausage which I really enjoyed as was the pepperoni and other meats it was loaded with quality cheese and the crust was crispy and excellent I don't think I've had one this good before.When I called the person that answered the phone and actually made the pizza ,Tina, was extremely friendly and a true asset to Ike's. When we picked up the pizza you could tell she took a lot of pride in her creation. We have had the pizza for one dinner two breakfasts and one lunch but gives you an indication how big it is and I'm not a small guy. It's more expensive than a Papa Murphy's but it goes a lot further and has a lot more to it! There are a lot of great restaurants in the McKenzie area if you want a great pizza make sure to stop at Ike's. We stopped here on our way from Eugene to Sisters Oregon. The pizza was really good, we ordered half Hawaiian half mushroom, olive and pepperoni! And a root beer from the self serve soda fountain. They had a dinning room for The Simpsons full life size character family, really cool and kids shows playing on the TV. Women's restroom has a very awkward restroom entrance, and I wouldn't recommend trying to use the disabled restroom to anyone who isn't at least in a manual wheelchair and very experienced. read more

The pizza was ok, and a bit pricey for it being small. The jalapeño poppers were amazing! But I'm not sure if it's worth $3.95. Chicken wings, definitely worth it. The spice was added in with the flour mix and gave it a good kick without any sauce. The dipping sauces it came with were great! Chicken and potatoes slices were good too. It's a little over 30 mins to drive there from my house but to try such a highly rated place I figured it was worth the trip. Pizza was good...surely not great and I'd say coburg pizza is far better. I don't like leaving bad reviews, but unfortunately, for the price that was paid for this substantially sub-par pizza warrants it; let's just say they are definitely capitalizing off of being the only pizza place for miles... For a whopping $47 dollars we got TWO pizzas: one medium 12" Hawaiian pizza and one 14" veggie pizza. And by pizza, I mean something that tastes like something you'd get out of the frozen aisle at a grocery store that was heated up in the microwave (not even in a stove and not even as good as DiGiorno's) that was then topped with the cold canned olives and pre-sliced peppers and tomatoes that I'm assuming are kept in aluminum toppings bins used to make their sandwiches. The crust had that freeze-dried, airy preserved dough taste, devoid of any flavor, and the cheese had to have been the pre-shredded grocery store brand on sale. Apparently, they also have a touted homemade sauce, that we would have loved to have tasted, but there was only about a dollop of sauce on the entire pizza. PIzza is pretty much like the pizza you get at Papa's pizza or roaring rapids. That is to say, it's not very good. If you are up that way then it might make sense to stop there. Ok. Fine. I've been asked before, "Ely, what IS your favorite pizza?" I'm usually asked this when I'm chowing down on a pizza that's really really good. Well, the answer is Ike's (lakeside?) Pizza. My dad and I found this place together when we'd make the drive to my alma mater. (go ducks!) A good white pizza is so damned hard to find. My dad is a purist--peperoni and olives or smoked oyster and olives only. Is smoked oyster pizza an old Oregon thing? I swear to god I've never heard of it anywhere else. The pizzas: Pepperoni and olive pizza? My pops isn't one for superlatives, but the way he put it, if I'm remembering correctly, "yeah. It's really good. It might be the best pizza I've ever had." I ordered the Mediterranean white pizza with a pesto sauce. I declared it best freaking pizza of my life. My dad wouldn't try it. Around the 3rd time we went to Ike's I finally made him submit to trying it. Even in his old codger self he proclaimed, "ok, it's pretty damned good--erhm--for not having any meat." Dear Parker, Yes, sir, Pegasus pizza is also very good. But if you, my friend, cannot tell the difference between Papa's and Ike's, then you sir, are an idiot. Or a 5-pack-a-day chain smoker. Hey I just went to Ike's pizza and it was really great! First let's talk about the food, I would've the calzone and it was amazing I was freaking out. My date ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich which came with a huge salad and we did some bite trades which was a good idea because I got to taste how good the buffalo chicken sandwich was. Then the table next to us ordered the broasted chicken which was so huge they couldn't finish it!! So when they left I totally tried an untouched breast of chicken because that's what this place is famous for and it was phenomenal. Outdoor seating area was great. There was a nice size fence and we knocked one out of the park behind it which was a great part of the day. Lastly, the servers were so great! They let us use a cell phone charger and looked up the marinara sauce with some ranch super happily. Food was amazing price was alright and will come back sometime probably. read more

Whenever we go floating we always make a stop at Ike's. They've got great homemade pizza and the best broasted chicken around. The owner is nice as can be, and chances are he may be sitting next to you at the bar.
