Mozzarella triangles. If you like mozzarella, these are for you!

Disclaimer: the first two times I came here would merit 5 stars, the third time alone cost my rating the three stars due to service. The pizza here is to die for. I consider myself a pizza connoisseur, with a sweet spot for brick oven pizza like this. The crust is perfect: crisp then soft. The toppings, cheese and sausage are balanced so that one does not overpower the others. You can even watch them toss your dough and cook your pizza while you wait! Back to the service. Two times were lovely. The waitress was friendly, attentive and fixed an order error no problem. The third time, we had a male waiter who spent probably half an hour in the back. Not only was our service crappy, but he completely missed a table that came in and left after 20 minutes of not being greeted at all. Even worse, one of the cooks was blatantly staring at my date almost the entire time we were there. I would have had a serious problem with him, but for his age (looked like could not have been 16). We changed seats and it subsided, and about 40 minutes into our visit the usual waitress started her shift and the service got better.

    Tenderloin

I totally stumbled upon this place. What a awesome mistake. I was in somewhat of a hurry so when the server discussed the different specialties, I went for the one that took less time to prepare. I ended up trying the tenderloin. It was delicious and the special sauce was very tasty as well. This is somewhat of a dive joint BUT the inside is well done and clean. There are a lot of nice touches to make it look impressive. I will definitely come back when I have more time as I am excited to try a pizza and heard the wings are excellent as well.

Waited an hour for this and I was the first order of the day.

I was the first customer of the day. Ordered my pizza at 11:10am and finally got my pizza around 12:05pm. While I waited I watched the guy do everything but make my pizza. Then when he finally started it was 30mins before it was on the table. When it arrived the ingredients were fresh but there was no seasonings to bring it all together. Bland. Nothing special about this pizza to make me want to come back. Sorry, Ikey's. Fail. No bueno.

The 4 Seasons- Mushroom, olive, prosciutto and artichoke.

Excellent thin crust pizza, cooked in a wood burning brick oven. Great selection of toppings, I did the Four Seasons with Artichoke hearts, olives, mushrooms, and prosciutto. Sauce is non invasive. Also had a great side salad with house made blue cheese dressing. It's very hidden so hopefully people will find it by word of mouth. I've driven past it regularly for 4 months and didn't know it was even there. The waitress was very attentive, clean and open dining area and you can watch the cook throw and spin your crust. A great addition for the northland.

This is definitely our favorite pizzeria in town! The Mikey is piled here th with pepperoni, pancetta, etc. We also came on Tuesday and really enjoyed the taco special. We'll be back again and again!

Ordered carry out. I did not pick-up, so I can't write to the overall atmosphere. We ordered two pizzas: 1) Cheese 2) Chicken Bacon Alfredo. At first glance of the chicken bacon alfredo, it didn't really appear to have much for chicken or bacon; however, it had both and overall good flavor. There were chicken chunks. So large chunks spread around. The cheese was also tasty.

Our family checked this place out on a Friday night for dinner and we were impressed. Great food, warm atmosphere, great service and decent prices. We had the Greek and Hawaiian pizzas...both were awesome. Highly recommend!

    Delicious cheeseless Californo.

Best pizza I've had in Kansas City. Don't let the exterior fool you. Inside is warm and cozy with an open pizza oven and prep area. It is fun to watch them hand toss the dough. The ending result is a thin, east-coast style flavorful crust with the perfect amount of chewiness. I get my pies without cheese, so a good sauce makes or breaks my meal. Theirs is balanced yet robust with no bitterness. I can't wait to go back.

    Elvis loves this place.

The pizza is amazing, but I would come just for the salads! I hear the wings are great and I know the beer is COLD! Nice owner and staff.

    Half cheese half Northlander! Delish!

The ambience is stylish and lively -- a little on the loud side when it gets busy, but still totally tolerable and honestly part of the energetic vibe that makes the place feel like a real KC social spot. Now let's talk food. We ordered the shrimp and grits, Korean beef tacos, and fries with aïoli -- and every single thing was delicious. The shrimp and grits were fantastic, rich and flavorful, and the creole garlic shrimp paired perfectly with the warm baguette they serve alongside it. That baguette was perfect for soaking up every last bite. The Korean beef tacos were packed with flavor -- a great balance of savory, a little sweet, and just the right amount of kick. And the fries with the aïoli? Crispy, addictive, and the perfect shareable starter for the table. Everything tasted fresh, well seasoned, and thoughtfully prepared. Add in great service and a buzzing atmosphere, and you've got a spot that's definitely worth putting into your Kansas City dining rotation. Four stars from this KC foodie -- I'll absolutely be back to explore more of the menu especially that oatmeal cream pie for dessert!!!

You can tell a lot of thought went into creating the space. What really sets this place apart is the wood-fired cooking. Everything is prepared over Missouri hickory and oak, and you can truly taste the difference. The food has this incredible smoky depth that makes every bite feel elevated and intentional. I also love that they source ingredients from local farmers, which really comes through in how fresh and vibrant everything tastes. The menu feels seasonal, thoughtful, and well-executed. The food itself is not only beautifully presented, but packed with flavor. Every dish I tried was cooked perfectly and left a lasting impression. They're open for lunch, and they also offer catering from casual office lunches to full events. I've heard amazing things about their charcuterie boards as well. It was a full, nicely cooked piece with great flavor, not a small portion tossed in as an afterthought. The salad had fresh greens, avocado, egg, and plenty of nuts and toppings that made it feel filling and well put together. My only issue was the packaging. The salad container was left fully open inside the bag, and the bag was stapled shut. I did not realize there were staples and cut my hand opening it. Because I was in a hotel and had put a few small items in the bag, they ended up falling right onto the exposed salad when I opened it. For delivery orders, a closed container and a safer seal would make a big difference. Food quality was excellent though, and I would order again, just hoping for better delivery packaging next time.

Recently, I tried their mac and cheese, burnt ends, potato salad, and beans. It's good. ...Just not amazing. The food seems fresh, the place always seems clean. The younger man that owns/runs the place is very nice. The parking can sometimes be an issue because they're located in a small trip mall connected to an apartment complex. Their prices are also just a little expensive in my humble opinion. The BBQ sauce isn't really anything to write home about. I would say that Off The Hook provides a very solid choice for BBQ in the northland. I like it better than F325 BBQ, Scott's Kitchen, and Wolfpack BBQ. It's similar in level to Char Bar, and maybe Oklahoma Joe's, but falls short to Q39. And I think it still has a way to go to beat Jack Stack BBQ.
