Omg! The food was soon good here. This restaurant deserves a solid 5 star experience! The food was perfect in quality and perfectly portioned and balanced. The porcini soufflé was to die for! The beet salad was perfect with hazelnut crumbles. The lamb chops was perfectly medium rare and the scallops were fresh and perfectly seared on mashed potatoes parsnips! The pistachio Baked Alaska was good! It was a first class meal and my favorite Italian restaurant in Waltham. I will come here again! The service was professional and ambience was contemporary chic. I learned that this restaurant was 40 years old but this was a new location.

It's the first time I visited ll Capriccio and was impressed by the quality of their food and service. We booked a table for 8 on a Monday night and were given a private room. The place was clean and the hostess was friendly. Our private room was spacious and inviting. They do have outdoor seating and it looked nice. Food was amazingly good as they used fresh and high quality ingredients. Our waitress Ann recommended the Giannone Chicken 'Schnitzel and it was one of the best chicken dishes we had tried. The chicken breast was crispy outside and moist inside. There was a fried egg on top of the chicken and the smooth buttery flavor of the egg yolk enhanced the taste of the chicken. Veal Scaloppine Valle d'Aosta was a great option for veal lover. It was tender and the Porcini Marsala sauce had a delicate flavor. Also we tried two fish dishes and they were both delicious and fresh. Our server Ann was excellent and knowledgeable about all the items on the menu. She provided good suggestions for us. Having such a great server made our experience more enjoyable. Lastly they had a few options for non alcoholic mixed beverages. So it is a really good place to bring your family and friends here. Who doesn't like having a delicious drink in a cute cocktail glass while eating a delicious dinner? I am highly recommend this place and will definitely go back.

My experience at Il Capriccio was spectacular, from the amazing food to the great service. You could definitely taste that the food was very high quality, making the prices worth it. We started off with two drinks which were refreshing. My friend got the Sangria Rossa (which was very sweet but yummy) and I got the Strawberry Negroni (which was a bit on the stronger end but still great)! The escargot was excellent. We loved the Tarragon Cream as it was very rich and flavorful. The cream sauce paired incredibly well with the escargot and the herbed polenta. The herbed polenta was a bit crispy yet soft in the middle, which was delicious. I also really liked the Gnocchi I got, which was very creative with the apples, pears, and walnuts. I do wish there was a bit more sauce, but the quality and freshness of the gnocchi really stole the show. The pappardelle was also really yummy and the rabbit didn't taste overcooked at all. To end the night, my friend and I shared a Warm Pear and Almond Tart with Prune Armagnac Ice Cream. The liquor was super strong in the ice cream but was delicious nonetheless. I loved how fresh the fruit was and it was clear that the cream was made in-house. Throughout it all, our server would check up on us, provide recommendations, and ask if we wanted more bread. The bread was great as well since it was warm and fluffy! Overall, I'm super excited to come here again. The menu changes every month but there are always a lot of creative dishes that sound delicious!

    Endive salad. Fantastic.

Had the best Carbonara here, including my time in Italy. The Endive salad was sensational. It's pricey, but one of the few restaurants that are worth what you pay. Host was terrific. Came in two minutes to nine and had the kitchen cook for us. Comped me my wine. That is Italian hospitality. Highly recommend.

We went to this restaurant for a birthday celebration. We had a wonderful meal. In terms of ambiance, the room was nicely decorated. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and provided great service. We had the signature soufflé porcini for appetizer. It was a rich and creamy appetizer full of mushroom flavor. We also had squid stuffed sausage and clam, which was also delicious. For entrees, we had mushroom risotto, pan seared scallop, and lamb. The scallops were cooked well but there were only four of them and they were not big, but it was tasty. The lamb was prepared perfectly. Mushroom risotto was a bit too salty to my liking. The cocktail was very good. All in all, although we had minor complaints, we still consider it as a great meal at this restaurant.

Amazing owner and awesome food. The wine is great, too. Highly recommend! I will be back.

Enzina sits in a 19th century brick building that it shares with its sister bakery. It seats about 12 tables so reservations are highly recommended. We were greeted promptly by the manager who was genuinely friendly - warmth is not a trait shared by most Bostonians. We ordered a large sausage pizza. The crust is made fresh daily by Enzina's bakery while the sauce is made in-house. The sausage is the star here - made locally by a high street Italian butcher shop. The final product was a masterpiece of east coast pie - firm crust, properly sauced, and a compelling amount of the delicious Italian sausage. We alo ordered the Tagliatelle Bolognese which was some of the best we have ever enjoyed. The sauce is made from veal, pork, and beef and only served on the day it is made (leftovers is given to a local food bank.) The house-made pasta was perfectly al dente. We would rate this Bolognese in our all-time Top Ten, which is saying a lot. Typical trattoria ambiance, prompt service, and delicious fare! Enzina is a must visit.

The food, which is really why you're reading, was very very good - we had perfect salmon, crispy and tasty chicken parm, and solid salads. BUT the meatballs were the star, they were so close to my mom's meatballs that I would probably lose in a taste test between the two. They are the protype that all meatballs should follow, flavorful, Italian-y, and you kept wanting to take another bite. If you do nothing else, get the meatballs and run. Aside from the 5 star meatballs, there were two misses: the garlic bread was basically just cheese (not my thing), and the marinara was too basic and too close to jar sauce. We had a really good meal here, and would go back again any time. You should go too.

Stazione Di Federal is located in downtown Waltham near the T stop. After a long day in Cambridge we were ready for sustenance but what we discovered at Stazione Di Federal was more than just a refueling stop. Housed in an old residence that has been exquisitely restored, Stazione Di Federal features beautiful interior work including crown molding throughout and stately plaster window casing that creates a warm, comfortable ambiance. It also has a magnificent hardwood floor that shines like a mirror. The high ceiling, brick walls, and nicely spaced tables gave it a Tuscan trattoria feel that complements the menu. We were greeted warmly by the owner, John Brackett, who showed us to our table in the main dining room. Our server, Patty, provided attentive and informative service throughout our two hour excursion. Stazione Di Federal is a scratch kitchen featuring fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and boasts an impressive curated wine list with superb selections from the many regions of Italy. We started with an extra dry Hendricks Gibson up (Finally! A Gibson!) and an Alto Adige Tramin Sauvignon Blanc. Italy's South Tyrol deserves more credit for its exceptional whites and the Tramin more than did justice to the grape. Our appetizer was beef carpaccio composed of paper-thin NY strip, shaved pecorino, arugla, capers, and EVOO. This was served with an exceptional focaccia which, together, was an outstanding way to start our meal. Their menu is broad and enticing; it was rather difficult to decide from so many great choices but we ordered the daily special - lemon risotto with scallops and, at Patty's recommendation, the orecchiette. The risotto was perfectly cheesy with citrus highlights decorated with five seared scallops that were charred on the outside and melt-in-your mouth tender inside. Of note were the peas that dotted to risotto! The orecchiette was al dente and featured a tremendous Italian sausage that had incredible anise notes. We finished with the baklava cheesecake that was topped with a pistachio walnut crumble, crispy phyllo, and a drizzle of warm honey. As always we each paired that with a double shot espresso with a twist. Stazione Di Federal is a tribute to east coast Italian done well. Impeccable service and a warm, inviting interior made this a memorable experience!

There's an old world feel when you walk in, and the decor is elegant without being stuffy. Although we sat at a table in the main dining room, the bar area was pretty sexy. Some of the price points are high to comparable Italian restaurants, but the quality is very much higher than most. Sarah was our server and she was delightful. No imbibing today, but she had the bar tender make me a fruity-ginger mocktail. Just ask, as the non-alcoholic selection amounts to two beers. Food is amazing. The clams casino and fritto misto apps were outstanding! The swordfish special ($49) was amazeballs. I don't even really like swordfish, but they managed to make it buttery soft and very lobsteresque in flavor. The baklava cheesecake is not to be missed--not overly sweet, and I'm on a mission to replicate it at home.
