We were a group of 19 and spent 3 nights renting a villa about 100 ft away from this restaurant. We came here every evening for dinner. The food was great, atmosphere perfect and the owner Luigi was the best. It's family run and operated. Highly recommend, it was a highlight of our time in the area. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. Thanks Luigi and family for making our vacation so memorable.

Surrounded by nature, in a renovated old barn overlooking the Gulf of Salerno: Il Fienile Ristorante is the perfect location for a dining experience full of healthy eating and relaxation. Here you'll find the authentic Italian cuisine made with local fresh products: fruit and vegetables directly from the garden, fresh fish of the sea and local meats cooked with skill and creativity by Chef Luigi, also master of hand-made pasta and desserts. They also produce olive oil, wine and some digestive such as blueberry, fennel and limoncello. Don't miss a dinner at Il Fienile if you're anywhere near Sorrento or the Amalfi Coast!

We came over because it was open on a Sunday evening and walking distance. The proprietor was friendly.

We rented a villa down the street last week and this restaurant was the only one in town and we could walk to it.

Such a yummy meal oh my. I ordered the Pasta di Gragnano and it was a lobster pasta that was…read moreslightly creamy and oh so flavorful, probably the most flavorful lobster dish I've ever had. The chef's starter was not my favorite, very mushy textures for the burrata esque one and the octopus one, but the potato one was fine. The bread basket with an assortment of breads is delicious. The Giglio pasta with salmon comes moving which is cool, but it was also very unique and good. The catch of the day was solid. The gnocco was great, but also my vegetarian family got the dish modified so who knows what it was supposed to taste like actually lol. The tiramisu was very different but good and the tiramisu espresso martini was out of this world tbh

Dish was under seasoned and both the beef filling and tortillas didn't taste that great Broccoli and eel risotto- 6/10. Couldn't taste much flavor from broccoli, eel pieces were tiny, and risotto was undercooked at the top. At the bottom it was better and I'm guessing it's because as the dish cooled, the bottom kept cooking longer. It wasn't served to me hot either. I didn't even end up finishing it. Tagliolini- 8/10. Good flavor, but nothing special. We had better pasta elsewhere that was also much cheaper. Seabass- 8.5/10. At least the cook on the seabass was good. but again nothing special Beef cheeks- 8.5/10. Same- solid but nothing I'd write home about. Overall, this has been the least impressive Michelin starred meal I've experienced in a while. The lack of flavor and unevenly and undercooked risotto was really disappointing. And the prices are way higher than what the meal is worth. Would recommend skipping this spot.

We had a bottle of wine for dinner which was very good. Our appetizers were truly delicious ! We had the bruschetta ( three different kinds: zucchini , eggplant , broccoli rabe). Our favorite was the zucchini. We also had the parmigiana alla chef (I think that's what it was called). It was like eggplant parmigiana to us, very tasty! For dinner we had risotto and steak. Prices were very reasonable. Overall it was a wonderful night and we got to eat outside :)

She said her steak was disappointing. It was "dry and stringy". But for those of us who ordered fish as our main courses, it was perfection. Maybe seafood is their strength. Absolutely LOVED the Medallion of mozzarella in carrozza on tomato coulis and black olive sand. I could have made an entire meal out of that. We then had the pasta linguine with "scapece" zucchini and burrata cheese from Monti Lattari. Highly recommend. Came out beautifully. I was too impatient to eat it that I forgot to take a pic first. It was beautifully plated though. I had the Wood-smoked red snapper fillet. It had a semolina, lemon and saffron crust, and rested upon roasted potato and basil cream. Delicious. Perfectly cooked. I took a bite of the Sea bass fillet with orange sauce and capers. The oranges are grown in the Sorrento garden. I liked the sea bass even more than my own. I've been to Sorrento 4x now and this was easily my favorite meal I've ever had here.

I made a reservation on Google but when I showed up, they didn't have our reservation, apparently they rejected the reservation which is crazy because I'm so used to just making the reservation online and it's automatically confirmed whereas this place indeed sent me a rejection email earlier in the day saying they couldn't confirm the reservation - not something I've ever experienced before since I always just assumed when you make the reservation on Google, it's already confirmed automatically but I will definitely pay closer attention to my emails in the future. Luckily they were able to fit us in but said we had to be done eating in an hour which was fine with me as we weren't trying to have a long dinner. I got the mixed seafood grill and most of it was dry and slightly overcooked, not much flavor. The grilled vegetables were just the cold appetizer grilled vegetables. The homemade pasta with sausage was alright but not amazing. The ambiance was a nice family restaurant with live music. Kind of tucked away down a side street in Sorrento, but close to our hotel. Our waiter was really friendly and funny, that's the only reason I'm giving this four stars as the overall meal was probably closer to 3 or 3.5.
