We opted for the wine tour with Bruna and set menu. Bruna is wonderful. The wine was incredible. The gnocchi with clams in light lemon sauce absolutely fantastic. I'm not a fan of octopus and the deep fried assorted seafood was light but quite salty. Overall a great experience.

My husband and I found this place quite unexpectedly and are so glad we did! We were driving back to our hotel from a day trip to Amalfi and this place looked like a nice place to stop for dinner. The place is gorgeous inside and has fabulous patio dining with the best views around. The food was freshly made and delicious. They prepared a vegetarian option for me while my husband had a seafood pasta from the menu. They even gave us a small after dinner dessert free of charge! Everything is really top-notch! While we were leaving the restaurant, we inquired at the desk about their hotel rates - they seem like a good price for the region. If we ever return for another vacation to the south of Italy, we'll be sure to stay here! Wonderful experience!

Best meal we had during our two weeks in Italy and even had an incredible view. The presentation was excellent. Staff was great! Parking was a little tight but it worked.

Risotto with raw and cooked shrimp, one of the best risottos I've ever had!

Bus tickets can be purchased at the front desk of the hotel for 1.30 euro per person. It is the perfect location for those who want to visit both Pastiano and Amalfi. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous! We could see Pastiano on the Amalfi Coast from the balcony. If you are a brave soul and climb down all the stairs, you can also swim in the water near the cliffs. All in all, the view was simply stunning. Living 3 nights at La Locanda in itself was already an experience. The owner here is extremely friendly. When we ordered the bus tickets, he didn't even ask for our money upfront and instead insisted that we give it to him later. I have never met an owner who placed so much faith in the honor system before. He was also kind enough to let our friend stay for three nights despite the fact we booked the hotel for 3 at first. In terms of the food, breakfast is very standard with croissant, different coffee that the staff can make, and a variety of pastries. They do need more fruits. However they make it up with their omelettes, so take advantage of the proteins if you are busy hikers like us. For dinner, they have a variety of seafood. I ordered the grilled squid. It was delicious but I wished the portion size could be a bit larger. But that's Europe for you! The only complaint I have is the shower. Our shower was broken for the most of our stay. The water would turn either burning hot or freezing cold. Maybe it was just our room, but the shower was personally a little frustrating. However for the most part, I loved La Locanda. I highly recommend you to stay at this place if you are visiting the Amalfi Coast.

The other desserts won't blow you away but they're super cheap. We never spent more than €40 for dinner including wine (which was on tap). The service here is incredible and very accommodating. Stomach growling as I was walking down Viale Pasitea (the main thoroughfare in town), multiple good options caught my eye. After some Gmaps searching (sorry Yelp, again limited and some outdated data in Europe!) their beautiful IG-able interior + stellar reviews cinched the decision for me. It's both a restaurant and retail store--the latter carries local ceramics, kitchenware and home decor, many with botanical designs--capturing that quintessential coastal vibe--colors back to white. The former takes up the remaining three-quarters of the white-washed space with about two dozen tables seating about 40-50 people. Live vines hang from parts of the ceiling, pendant lighting fixtures printed with leaf patterns echo the botanical theme from the retail displays. The aesthetic rounds out with tiled floors, light wood furniture, and pillowed banquette seating mixed with individual tables, tying in designs from the home goods store. Food is new Italian--they do carry some traditional dishes though they also have a modern Mediterranean section of the menu that adds non-traditional ingredients or techniques. They also serve a variety of cocktails, fresh-squeezed or blended juices and smoothies, and coffee drinks. Lunch with an entree and drink will run you about €35-40, which is on the higher side though par for the course compared to other similar restaurants along the Amalfi Coast. I ordered the traditional fagioli cannellini, scarola, capperi, olive e calamari gratinati €26 (cannellini beans, escarole, capers, olives and gratinated calamari). This was creamy and tasty even though it had no cheese or cream, the calamari was cooked well, just tender enough, and coated with light breadcrumbs, which I appreciated as it was baked and not deep-fried. Having minimal familiarity with dish, I can only say I thought it was outstanding, good textural contrast, not too salty. Staff was the right amount of attentive without being overbearing, and though their English was limited, they strove to answer my questions on ingredients in a few of the dishes. The restaurant was pretty busy during lunch, but I never felt rushed. Loved the atmosphere and food here, would certainly recommend!

We hadn't, and after that, everything seemed to change. If you do decide to eat here, maybe say yes to the boat question. I'm thinking maybe they charge a table fee for the people who take their water taxi, and that's why they didn't want us there. Who knows. Overall, I wish we had gone somewhere else. I can't remember ever eating at a restaurant that felt so dismissive. It wasn't just passive-aggressive--it felt like they were put off by us being there, which was really weird. We spent a lot of money there. I'm at a loss. They were getting on very well with the tables near us. I loved Italy so much; this was by far the worst experience we had on our trip.
