Il Lago Trattoria is such a hidden gem in Doral. The lake view is honestly the main attraction - super peaceful and a really nice change of pace from the usual spots around here. That said, the inside is tiny. It gets crowded quickly, and since they don't take reservations, you're kind of at the mercy of timing. We ended up sitting inside, which was a bit disappointing because it definitely takes away from the whole experience. Service was great though - super attentive, and the food came out really fast (almost suspiciously fast, but everything was fresh and good so no complaints). We only ordered appetizers, drinks, and a small plate, but everything hit. I'd definitely go back, but only if I can sit outside next time. Otherwise, it kind of defeats the purpose of going there in the first place. read more

Food is great and come out pretty quick. Our server, Roberto, was a doll and very pleasant. The Alfredo was creamy and covered all the pasta. They don't skimp on portions so what they give is plenty. The tiramisu was definitely a highlight so make room for it. Parking is a bit of mission, but there is valet for 12$ if you don't want to look around. There are no reservations so be prepared for a wait if you want to sit outside for those lakeside pictures. We went to this restaurant by recommendation from a friend. For starters there was no parking in the strip of the establishment. Very limited parking so they offer valet for a reason. That was $12 dollars. Very nice attendants but a bit expensive I thought. Entered the restaurant and were seated right away. This was at 5:00 pm so I want to say an early dinner for us. The place is decorated with lemon trees all over the place which I thought was very nicely done, it is a very small narrow restaurant with seating also on the outside overlooking the lake. The view is beautiful! We decided to sit indoors because it was quite hot outside. Our waiter promptly served us water and took our order quickly. I had a rosé sangria with natural fruits that was very refreshing and then ordered their focaccia bread , Caesar salad, lasagne, spaghetti and meatballs. My lasagne was Devine! Salad also was delicious! Croutons crunchy and perfect amount of dressing! My husband did not like the meatballs (they were not tasty and quite hard). The spaghetti was aldente and the flavor was a bit bland. For dessert we ordered their orange marmalade basque cheesecake which was so creamy and very good! There's a view outside with water but we chose to sit inside due to the heat. Service was quick and very friendly as there were plenty of servers available to help out. We started with a round of white sangria which was delicious and refreshing! Not too sweet which was very appreciated. We ordered the fettuccine al tartufo, gnocchi bolognese with burrata on top, and the lobster ravioli. All the plates were clean by the end of the meal! We started off with the Tavola Italiana which is meats and cheeses with a side of the focaccia bread which was all very delicious, for main I had the pesto pasta with chicken which I felt was not great, the chicken was ok but the pesto was just a miss for me it was very earthy and salty. I also tried the truffle cacio e pepper which again was just Ok , the truffle didn't stand out and felt a little basic and bland. For dessert had the pistachio cake with a scoop of gelato which was delicious, the tiramisu was good and the baba al limoncello was okay. What a gem! This setting is beautiful, we sat outside on the dock under the lemons. The service was excellent. We were waited on quickly and even though it was a busy time, they weren't hurrying us. I had a hard time deciding what to eat, there are some good selections. I chose a basic fettuccini with garlic and EVOO. It did not disappoint, the pasta was delicious. The servers are good, but they tend to let you linger a little (because they expect to enjoy the food (and you will). The antipastas are fresh and flavorful. Saw this place on TikTok and decided to come for lunch and I'm so disappointed because this place is so cute. The view outside is great, the decor and music really add to the ambiance as well BUT the food was not good. Both the pesto and tartrufo pasta had virtually no flavor. The sauce was watery. It felt like we were eating plain noodles, which is so sad because the dishes look delicious. I will say the sangria was tasty and the focaccia bread was great too (a little on the thin side, but nice flavor). The service was also a positive, our server was friendly and attentive. This place is very cute it's sort of small and they have outdoor seating by the water like a canal it's pretty and they also have indoor seating. It's beautiful inside too. We sat outside and got there just in time before it got busy and we would not have had the opportunity to sit outside. It was my girlfriend's birthday they sang happy birthday with some music that was nice. The service was amazing very attentive and nice. Food was really good too! They have heart locks that you can buy that comes with the key and they give you a sharpie marker to write a note and you lock it on there outside patio. My brother found this place on Instagram and the Google reviews made us give them a try - now we've been twice in two months! The appeal for me as someone with celiac disease is the fact that they have gluten free pasta available to substitute for their pasta dishes. I've had the "linguine" nero both times (the gluten free pasta substitute is short) and I can't say enough good things about the quality of the pasta and the wonderful taste of the dish. I also tried the caesar salad without croutons and have had the limoncello sorbet as well as the stracciatella gelato. All of it has been delicious. I did not try the pizza dishes photographed, but my family raved about them through the meals, and after. All plates were cleared. As far as service goes, the first time we were served by Jesus, and the second by Rafael. Both super nice, knowledgeable, with understanding of the gluten component for me and unafraid to make recommendations when asked. Worth noting they do have a pretty established review request system for Google with a QR code they have handy in their pockets, that's how they've managed to amass their hefty review count and you'll see the praises for all of the servers individually. The decor is beautiful and feels straight out of the Amalfi coast. Have sat inside both times, really want to experience the lakeside seats outside after the worst of summer passes. We came to dinner here expecting things to be very tasty & a very cute Italian ambiance. I was so excited for this restaurant ! We were greeted fast and got sat down quickly. The waiter gave us a menu and checked in with us. We were a party of 3 and we were catching up and talking and then 5 mins later the waiter came back and asked if we knew what we wanted. First, he did not ask us if we had been there before or if he had any recommendations. I explained we needed more time as we got distracted and then he said okay take your time and kind of looked annoyed. Another 8 mins came by we ordered the Charcuterie board and it was so good. The fig jelly and the focaccia was really good. Once again the waiter came to check on us for our order and we all agreed that everything felt so rushed. We ordered our food and things came out relatively quickly -- it was very hard to understand the waiter as he spoke Spanish extremely fast. In the time where we were getting our food. The restaurant was so hot. We were all sweating so bad --the combination of wine, hot food and a no air was a terrible combination. I got to wave down another waiter as i couldn't find ours to tell him about the air & he says it was the lowest it could go. Horrible feeling to just sweat as you are eating. i got the truffle pasta and i thought the waiter was confirming my order he said "truffle" and i said yeah truffle. The pasta was good I really think it was the best dish from the table. My boyfriend got the caccio e peppe and i tasted it and it was extremely salty. He did not eat it. My friend ordered the lasagna and it was 90% cheese. There was no pasta in her lasagna. The waiter never came back until 10 mins later and then asked if everything was okay and then he basically rushed out. I was trying to wave at him to tell him that the pasta was too salty. We never saw him again for another what probably felt like 15 mins. When he finally came back he said why didn't I tell him before and I explained he rushed out. He again sorta gave us attitude. Now let me get started on the happy birthday song that got louder each time they played it. The transition from the Italian ambiance music switch to the chucky cheese song was ultimately irritating. Overall i would say i was extremely disappointed in this restaurant and I would not be coming back as when we got the check i noticed when he said "truffle" he was asking if i wanted extra truffle which we got charged and also we didn't notice they charged us for extra burrata which we realized it too late when we left. either way extremely disappointing experience will not recommend this place. read more

It overlooks the waterway there, and with the decor of the restaurant it really did feel like we were in Italy. The music was pleasant. The food was authentic. My wife found this place through Instagram. A ton of people are now coming to take pictures and pretend they are in the Amalfi coast. The restaurant actually did a good job decorating. Although a little restaurant in a shopping center it does take you to Italy. There are lemons everywhere. Food was very good. Good portions too. We split an appetizer and split a pizza. Delicious. We decided to try Il Lago Trattoria while visiting Miami. We were greeted warmly and sat on the outside patio overlooking the water. Our waiter was very attentive and served our drinks and food quickly. The Sangria was very good, as well as the focaccia with olive oil, balsamic vinaigrette and Parmesan we ordered for our appetizer. Our dinner was excellent! The Chicken Supreme with Caesar salad was delicious as well as the Gnocchi with pesto and Alfredo (for my tomato allergy). We managed to leave room for the best part...a slice of decadent Anastasia Italian cake with creamy chocolate gelato. the only issue was the parking (small area in front of restaurant). Upon entering I was fascinated with the beautiful decor of the lemons hanging on the ceiling along with the sparkly chandeliers. The narrow restaurant almost resembles Italy in that sense. For dinner we had the fettuccini Alfredo which was prepared to perfection. we shared the pepperoni pizza with mushrooms, and their Parma pizza which had mozzarella, arugula, prosciutto, parmigiano, balsamic glaze, and burrata. yum!
