Pizza crust is outstanding. I prefer a more flavorful sauce but the overall product is excellent.

The interior was in the same motif, an old school Italian restaurant that's been around for awhile. We had reservations and were sat immediately. Our server came over to our table almost immediately. He was friendly, professional and friendly and explained the menu and his recommendations. Even though the appetizers looked amazing, we opted to just order entrees as they came with a salad and pasta. We ordered 2 Chicken Parm's with a Caeser salad side and their homemade Tagliatelle pasta, Bronzino special and a Pasta (homemade linguine). I was one of the Chicken Parm's. DAMN, it was excellent! Very large portions of chicken and pasta with a tomato sauce that was absolutely one of the best I've ever had in a restaurant! It was thick, tasty and clung to the pasta and Parm. I HATE ordering pasta in a restaurant that isn't drained properly and the plate is a puddle with food sitting in it-and this WAS NOT the case! It was a big ass tasty platter of delicious food. The other plates were as large and delicious! For dessert, I had the Espresso Affogato, again DELICIOUS!!! I WILL be back to try some of the other dishes as, for me, unless they do a really good chicken parm, I won't go on!! Great job by the staff! Our table was constantly bussed, waters refilled and making sure we were satisfied.

Unfortunately, this is a one and done restaurant for me, and not one I would recommend. Sorry no…read morepictures! We were seated right away, and our server was attentive, almost a little too attentive at times that we felt rushed. The atmosphere was nice, but the restaurant is small, difficult to move around, and the lighting was darker than I prefer. We started with the fried calamari and meatballs. The calamari was good, but the meatballs were disappointing. They were about the size of golf balls which is ok but lacked flavor. For our entrees, we ordered the penne alla vodka, chicken parmesan, gnocchi, and I had the spaghetti special that was finished in a cheese wheel tableside. The presentation was fun, but the food itself just didn't live up to it. The marinara sauce across the dishes was bland, the gnocchi was forgettable, and my spaghetti portion was surprisingly small, more like an appetizer than an entrée. I almost always take leftovers home from Italian restaurants because the portions are generous and the food is rich. This time, there was nothing left because there wasn't much there to begin with. The biggest disappointment was the bread. When I go to an Italian restaurant, I expect warm, crusty Italian bread. Instead, it tasted like ordinary sliced sandwich bread. I actually like Publix bread, but that's not what I'm looking for with an Italian meal. Overall, nothing was terrible, but nothing stood out either. For the prices, I expected much more flavor, better portions, and a more authentic Italian experience.

The escargot we consumed before I could snap a photo. The garlic, butter and cheese was just knocking our socks off. The meatballs were tender and flavorful. The sauce was clearly fresh. We highly recommend both!! Our entrees were Penne Ala Vodka, margarita pizza and stuffed grouper. The vodka sauce I added spicy sausage (which I learned is a homemade local recipe) and was chefs kiss. Two of us shared it and still have leftovers . The pizza was HUGE and enough for 4, so we have left overs. The dough was definitely memorable. The grouper I didn't try, but my husband said it was excellent. I definitely recommend trying this spot if you haven't yet.

This was our first visit to Dough Forge Italian Restaurant. Our first impression walking in was…read morethat it felt very much like a small, mom-and-pop neighborhood restaurant, which is perfectly fine when the food and overall atmosphere make up for it. Unfortunately, the prices felt quite high for the experience. For example, the Bolognese was around $25, Chicken Parmigiana around $26, and the pizzas were about $28. Since we were already there, we decided to stay and give it a try. I will say that our waiter was nice, and the woman who seated us was also very pleasant. The tables had paper tablecloths, and after ordering a carbonara and Chicken Parmigiana, we waited about 30 minutes for our food. During that time, there was nothing to snack on. We expected some bread or something similar, as many Italian restaurants offer while you wait. When the food finally arrived, we were given a piece of focaccia. Unfortunately, it was very bland, and mine had a noticeable burnt taste. The actual meals were not bad, but they also weren't anything particularly special. The flavors were fine, but honestly, the dishes tasted like something I could make at home rather than something worth paying $25-$26 for at a restaurant. Both dishes also came with very thin spaghetti. Some people may prefer that, but I personally prefer a more traditional, thicker pasta. The atmosphere was another disappointment. There really wasn't much ambience, and at one point someone sat right next to our table while waiting for a pizza to-go, which added to the feeling that this was more of a casual takeout spot than an Italian dining experience. Overall, I don't think the food is bad, but the prices don't match the food, ingredients, presentation, or atmosphere in my opinion. At these prices, I would expect better-quality ingredients,

I'm not a wine snob, a beer snob or a coffee snob....but I am a pizza snob. This place doesn't disappoint. We had guests over last weekend from NJ and we ordered from Rico's and Everyone from Jersey was very happy with the taste and quality of their product. Thin crust, but not too thin...the perfect thickness and the ratio to cheese, crust and sauce was on point. Nice staff and great decor in the restaurant too. Definitely reminds me of the small mom and pop pizzerias I grew up loving. We will ONLY got to Rico's from here on out....lifetime customers for sure! Try it once and you'll be hooked!

By the time all the additional charges were placed, the Pizza cost almost $30. When I got home, I discovered that there was practically no sausage meat to be found on the pizza. The taste and texture of the pizza was fine. That's why I've gone there before. But never again, after this experience, a wild rip off price and practically no meat. I should've learned from past experience, never order anything, but the cheese pizza on special, or you will be ripped off with the add-ons and the lack of protein that you were paying top dollar for.
