They may have a fabulous delivery service, they may even have good pizza..... I wouldn't know. I went at 9pm on a monday and was the only customer in the shop. I ordered, paid, and WAITED..... 35 minutes later they hadn't even put my pizza in the oven. I ended up leaving without food, or a refund. If I could give it 0 stars I would, as that is the amount of food I got after paying (and prematurely tipping). Definitely don't go there in person.... good luck with the delivery service - by all appearances it is more succesful. read more

I think I order delivery from here about once every two weeks. It's always good. Small margarita pizza and a side of broccoli rabe. Never fails. The restaurant itself has great service. I can't think of another place in the nabe that has better trained waitstaff. if it was possibloe i would \give this place half a star. ok ok so i was visiting my daughter in brooklyn, and wanted to try the pizza that everyone always talks about. this place was just around the corner from her appartment, so i was really excited! we drove over there, but it took forever to find parking! this was the beginning of the end. ok so, we got inside and they people were too busy watching a baseball game to even say hello! as if!!!! (as my daughter would say) when they finally turned around the pizza guy was very unfriendly, and i think he was looking at my daughters body in a way i didnt like. very arrogant about pizza! so we ordered the spinach salad to split instead. when he finally brought it out, he said ok "8 bucks" excuse me? it said 6 bcks on the menu. he told me to grab a menu and read what was written on the cover. i began to read the name and address of the place. "noooo!" he said, and grabbed the menu out of my hand, hurting it. This might get filtered because I'm a lurker who never reviews, but I can't help myself here. I live within a few blocks and this place almost makes the near-total dearth of other restaurants nearby worthwhile. The supreme is among the best pizza I've had in NYC, and I've been around the block. Nice, real-guy kinda staff. I've been here far more times than I can count and literally have never been disappointed. Anyone who thinks this place is less than a five-star pizza joint is either an idiot or lying, and I would gladly say so to their face. read more

We were in the middle of enjoying our 2 pies when a roach scurried across our table. When we told our server about it she asked us where it came from. (? really?) She asked us if we wanted to take our pizza to go we said no and then a manager came by and asked us how we were doing. (???) I mean, we stopped eating and left 4 slices of pizza. Then they asked us if we wanted dessert. Again, we didn't finish eating our food because a roach ran across our table during our meal. I know, they are everywhere but the whole situation was handled so strangely. They just gave us the check charging us full price. No one apologized or behaved in the way that I would expect. Probably won't be back. It's unfortunate because the food that we ordered was good, our uninvited guest just soured the situation and the staff fumbled it from there. read more

The smell Italy just slaps you when you walk through the door, Amazing!!! The place is beautifully designed and clean. The margarita and grandma slices are absolutely delicious, as well as the cannoli and poached pear dessert. Not to mention that some of the staff are eye candy (ladies you will know what I mean if you walk to the takeout counter)! Unbelievably good brick oven pizza! We got the Chicken Parm Pizza and the Ortolana (add sauce and substitute artichokes for olives). Both were spectacular. Somewhat tucked away and hidden from the busy foot traffic a twoblocks away on Myrtle, Il Porto is a gem. We stayed in New York for two months and this was the only restaurant we just had to go to more than once. read more

Il Porto catered our wedding at Littlefield (130 people) and they did an AMAZING job!!!!!!! Chef Mario, the owners and staff were all fantastic. Not only was the service excellent, but the food was SO GOOD. Our guests were raving about it. I even had an out-of-towner tell me she will come back back to Brooklyn just to eat at Il Porto. We had an array of pastas, antipasto, salads and pizzas. All delicious and fresh. Incredibly reasonable prices, especially compared to many places who will take advantage of you just because it's a wedding. Great service, great people, great food. I just moved close by so I figured why should I give this place a go? I visited with a few of my friends on a Friday night. They were too busy and too us right away. The pizza was pretty delicious but standard Brooklyn pizza. For me everything about it was great except for the sauce; too sweet. The other dishes were also alright, nothing to brag about. For the price you are paying you also get to enjoy your food in a cozy romantic atmosphere paired with live music. The live band really added a nice touch to our dinner and was not expected at all. The service in this establishment is questionable. Our waitress took a very long time to show up with our menus, didn't give us sufficient time to read the menu (kinda annoying to buzz back every 2 minutes, no?), and then when she was refilling our water kept on spilling it into our food (ugh). Overall good experience would recommend, watch out for your food when the waitress comes with the water pitcher though! read more

We recently held a family party for 50 people at Il Porto and it was wonderful. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the venue is charming. The price was fair and parking was so easy. But the staff is really outstanding. They tried to make the event special and attended to our every need. They even cleaned up the mess created by four sloppy toddlers with grace and professionalism. I live out of town but it was so easy to plan the party. Even if you're not planning an event, you should plan to dine at Il Porto to experience the fine food and fabulous pizza. read more

Ordered from them on seamless. Delivery was quick and friendly. Also had my pasta dishes in a pizza box inside the pizza warmer so everything was hot. Very nice touch. Portions were huge! Had the seafood linguine and there was so much seafood! Shrimp and asparagus was solid as well. I have been living in the clinton hill/fort greene area for about a year and am soooo happy I stumbled upon this place! It is kind of out of the way but well well worth it! Other reviews rave about the pizza and dont get me wrong - it is awesome! This area was long due for a great pizza joint. Graziella's margherita pie is nonsense compared to Il Porto's. Aside from the great pizza, I feel people should give the dinning room a try. The menu is quite extensive and having eaten here way more than a few times I can honestly say that everything is super delicious! Besides the main menu, they always seem to have a very updated selection of specials- which have never disappointed me! Their steak for 2 is superb! (Peter Luger's doesnt stand a chance! Its half the price and much more friendly and attentive service) The salads are always super fresh, the pasta is to die for, and the main entrees are done with great care and presentation. In my opinion you get way more quality and quantity than what you pay for (which I suppose is because of the area they are in) Although they have no hard liquor, they have an extensive beer and wonderful wine list. I am not a big dessert person at all but, the last time I dined at this place I had a little craving for something sweet. Most of their desserts are home made by the chef and I decided to take a chance on the cheesecake and my friend chose the tiramisu. Holy Crap!!!!!! It was unbelievably AMAZING! Both desserts were decadent, sweet and didn't make me feel as if i were about to explode. The other great thing about the dessert is that they come with a scoop of delicious gelato and it really adds a surprisingly nice touch! Wow. Terrible. Took a friend here who was visiting from out of town. Was overcharged on happy hour and server was reluctant to change the bill. Food was unattractive and panini was meager, mostly bread. And then surprise, cash only, for a huge restaurant like that? Server told us there was an atm inside. Guess what, it's broken. I've been impressed with Il Porto in the past, first experiencing their pizza when delivered to my office for an office lunch, then I ordered pizza and salad for dinner a few weeks later. Both times, the food was excellent, especially their prosciutto and arugula pizza. Last night, I decided to order something different - salmon alla griglia and clams with spaghetti and white clam sauce. The clams dish was quite good, although it would have been outstanding with angel hair pasta instead. But the real disappointment was the salmon. Yes, I understand that it's salmon on the grill, but this was ridiculous. The salmon was totally overcooked and it was so bad that a third of the salmon was burned and charred to the point of being inedible. They were kind enough to send a replacement, but this time, the salmon was undercooked and raw inside, so that I had to microwave it for a couple of minutes to ensure it was properly cooked. After a long day at work, I was looking for a nice delicious Italian meal with no hassles, but I was quite disappointed in Il Porto's execution. Lesson - when ordering from Il Porto, stick to the pizza. read more
