Lovely doctor but the front desk needs better training on customer service. I had great experience on my first visit few months ago but somehow things are run differently now under a new front desk staff. The assistant (short girl with glasses) will not great you and just stares at you to ask what you visited for. Then when you discuss what you need, she's not very knowledgeable yet is very stubborn. Took a while before she realized she was the wrong. Not sure if it's an issue with her attitude or lack of training. Although I understand the owners' language barrier, the front desk staff should be trained better. If you fully understand what your plan covers and want a pleasant experience with eye exam, then it's worth to give this place a try. If you don't want to deal with the front desk with attitude, I wouldn't come here. read more

Okay so I have not been to many eye places..but this place exceeded my expectations.! I just walked in filled out a paper got my eyes examined paid the money n I was out. Speedy service when I went and friendly receptionist. The doctor was a nice lady and listened when I spoke to her. I am definitely going back to get me better frames (not that I need em). DO NOT COME HERE! Go to Italee optical or one of the other places on Olympic Blvd. They have much better customer service and the employees there know the needs of people with high prescription glasses. I recently got a pair of glasses here for $500 (the lens alone were $230 because of my higher prescription) and the glasses were unwearable. Did not sit on my face correctly because they made the lens so thick it weighed down the frames. They refused to let me exchange the frames and fit the same lens into another frame, even though I found another pair for $100 less at the store, so they would make an extra $100 on the "exchange". Manager is an a-hole. One guy who works there (dont know his name, but is the only fluent english speaker) seemed nice and reasonable, but was unable to help or accomodate me because of management. Although, in the end he did blame me for picking out bad frames that the lens weren't a fit for. Goes to show that even the nicest employee there blames the customers, so you can see what you will be dealing with. This place has extremely bad business practices, makes blatant misrepresentations to quality of the lens and laughable customer service. I urge everyone to go ANYWHERE but here. read more

Great service, same day appointment, friendly, and dirt cheap. They have a special of $ 100.00 which includes the eye exam, and a selection of their frame w/lenses ( all inclusive)! I also asked them to put in my vision prescription on my new ray-ban I had bought a month ago. My total was $ 160.00 for everything mentioned above. Hello!?? It does not get any better than that! Frame, exam, plus lenses, and additional lenses on Ray-ban = DIRT CHEAP! I got an exam there. Went to order contacts and mine were out of stock, so I asked the employee if she could recommend another and she did! However they cause massive discomfort, when I called to let them know and see what my options are, they insisted they never told me what to buy and I wouldn't get a refund or even a slight discount on new contact lenses. Basically accused me of making it up, why would I blow $80 on something I made up? Totally rude. Go elsewhere.... read more

This place was fantastic! I called to make an appointment and was easily able to make one later that week after work - major points for convenience! The girl at the front was friendly and helped me pick out frames while I waited for the optometrist (I was early). I think my only complaint would be that all their glasses are in cases so I had to ask to try them on. But that's pretty common, and the lady was very patient with me as I tried on a bunch of frames. The doctor was great - friendly (but not overbearing), efficient (but not rushed), and knowledgeable. At the end of the appointment, he asked me why I decided to go there, and I told him that it was close to work (within walking distance!) and had good yelp reviews. I think he got a kick out of that, haha. They told me my glasses would arrive in about a week, and it only took 5 days - not bad! The doctor was so sweet to her, spoke to her in both English and Spanish even though he was clearly Asian and Spanish was not his first or second language. The glasses were done on time. Was looking around for fair prices for eye exams. They charged me $50. Other places I called around charges $60+. I called a day before to set a appointment for 11am , following day I came a hour late and they still saw me right away. I ran out of contacts a few days ago and needed to find a new optometrist that was near the downtown LA area. Naturally I came to Yelp and found i LA, and boy I'm glad I did. After being relegated to crappy places like LensCrafters when I had insurance, this was easily the best optometry location I've been to in recent years. I made a same day appointment after work at 415 pm and was 15 minutes late, but no matter. Dr. Han still saw me immediately after filling out some paper work. He was super nice and seems to really know his stuff. The real attraction of iLA to me is the ambiance of the store and the prices. For $100, you get an exam and full pair of glasses, of which they have a pretty comprehensive selection. In total I paid $300 for an exam, half a year's worth of contacts, and lenses for a pair of glasses I had. Now that may seem steep, but keep in mind I had no insurance and I have a pretty high prescription which usually makes my bill higher than the average person's. (I've spent $300 on just glasses at other places). In summary: I'll be coming here from now on for my optical needs. Park under the metro station and relax. Oh and I believe they speak Korean and Spanish in case anyone was wondering. read more

The doctors and salespeople in this place are very, very friendly. It was a pleasure doing business with them. That said, their frame prices were too expensive. I tried on a pair of Oakley's that I really liked. I was able to buy them only for 45% less and ended up just buying the lenses here. It was a little inconvenient and took some time, but it was worth the savings. read more

I love the Dr.here !:) so it took me a while to pay for my eye glasses due to hospitalization because of an eye injury and various downs throughout this year. As of today...finally... I was able to pay my eye glasses !=) the only problem is that in mid September an eye blood vessel popped =/ on my left eye which I now believe affects the way my progressive Rx works. I look up at the billboards and my left lense doesn't make much sense to my eye. I have been told by doctors that my stress causes for my vision to make my eyes feel strained, vision blurry & get headaches but I most definitely will be going back in mid January to fix the issue :( and find out whats wrong. Great doctor, friendly staff. Free parking in the basement. I got contacts and the exam for $170 ($100 for exam). I needed contacts today & was able to get them in just over an hour even though there were two people in front of me. Very fast service. If you have bad vision, you will have to pay more for the glasses than the advertised rate, which you probably already know. The doctor found my vision got better and lowered my prescription for both glasses and contacts. I will be back to this optometrist in the future, but might buy glasses from an online provider instead of this office where they would probably cost about $220. read more

This is by far one of the best shopping/customer service experience I have had in US. The customer service and the doctor is friendly, and they even remember our little family. My husband and I got our eyeglasses there on Dec 2014, he got his on time (2 weeks after) but I didn't have mine until early Jan 2015. I blame the holiday season and insurance company for this though hahaha. But the best thing is when our 6 year old daughter got her eyeglasses here. She was in LA for a short visit during the holiday season, and we realized that she badly needed a new pair of eyeglasses. Not only did the doctor made her feel comfortable during the exam, the turnaround speed was also quick! We went there on Saturday evening, and on Tuesday noon her eyeglasses were ready! She was (finally!) able to see all the good stuff during the road trip back to her home state, and this is all thanks to iLA Optometry! Thanks again, you guys are rad!!! read more

I went to this place today because I was in desperate need of new glasses. I called ahead to make sure that they took my insurance and they said they weren't sure so that I had to call. Now usually, this is something that they should do for you... but no big deal. I called my insurance and they said I was covered so I called back and made an appointment. They said they could take me same day which was really nice so I headed over there. I got there 10 minutes early and they had me fill out paperwork. Since the Dr. was running a little behind they had me pick out some frames. I found the ones that I wanted (Ray-bans) and sat and twittled my thumbs for 40 minutes. When the doctor finally came out she said that she check their website and that they DON'T take my insurance. I told her that I already called and that they said I was. So again, she made ME call my insurance company so that "she didn't have to do it". I explained the situation to my insurance company and they said that they DID cover me but that my doctor would have to send my claim in and that they would reimburce her. I handed the phone over to the doctor and my insurance explained that to her. She then hung up with them and told me "Yeah, that's really too much of a hassel so you can pay in full and they can reimburce you". When I asked how long it would take, she said about 2 weeks. So I basically told her she could suck it (Okay, so I actually just said "okay" and left). They didn't even apologize for waisting my time!!! WTF?!?!? Over all, I was SO frustrated when I left. I will NEVER go back to this. read more

PROS: I got an eye exam, prescription, and took my filled glasses home the same day, all in less than 35 minutes. CONS: I paid $130.00 for everything which is kind of pricy, since I can get lens made for 25 @ Hye Optic and put into my frames for that price. I felt robbed. I really like this place. About a year and a half ago I got my glasses here. Still very pleased with the frames and lenses. On a whim I walked in wanting to get some contacts (frankly, I was tired of the LA sun killing my eyes with my regular glasses) and they set up my appointment immediately. When I say immediately I mean I was sitting in the eye exam chair in under 15 minutes of walking in. The Doctor was extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. Took my son here for a eye exam as it's close to our home and I got a letter from the school stating he might need glasses. We went in for our appointment and after was given a prescription with the lady doctor saying he was a -1.00 In the right eye and a -0.25 In his left eye now she did not know I am a 7 year experienced optician so I decided to have a second opinion due to the fact that she took such a short time for her to examine my son's eyes and determine this RX. My second opinion I got today was that his vision was perfect and an-0.25 OU ! I trusted this doctor to do a eye exam on my son and she came out saying he needed glasses because he was myopic in his right eye so I purchased glasses that I made him wear for a little less than a year and today I am being told he was over corrected SMH untrustworthy doctor who really just wants to bill insurances for the money and provide false eye prescriptions which could in fact make your vision worse in the long run ! So glad I got a second opinion and now I will into further action... read more

i am writing to warn other patrons to stay away from this business. in 2010 i needed new glasses. i searched around and thought i had found a fair priced optometrist charging me $380. within a year the lenses started to fog up. after about 8 more months i could not see through the lenses. i returned to the business and was told the problem was caused by something i had done even though it looked like a manufacturing defect. i did not remember anything i might have done to the glasses but instead of disputing with the employees i agreed to pay another $220 to have the lenses replaced. here it is about a year later and the lenses are starting to fog up again. i went back to the business and was told i might have caused the problem. i showed them another pair of glasses i have had for about ten years with no fogging. the fogging glasses were sent back to their lab. a week later i received a phone call telling me that the business will not stand behind their product and there is nothing they can do to fix the problem. two times in three years, their has to be something in the materials they use to make this junk we are charged for. i now have to look for another place to buy new glasses. i should have given my money to a well known company in the first place instead of trying to save a few dollars, which ended up costing me more in the long run. read more
