Griot (pork), fried plantain, rice with red kidney beans. All items were a separate cost. But were good.

I stumbled upon this soon to be gem (that recently opened) on IG. Iliana's is a Haitian restaurant owned by Haitian women. It is not located in a prime location and has limited parking. There were not a lot of customers during my visit, but the energy of the restaurant was great. Both owners were consistently present, helping to take orders, greeting customers, and making sure that customer needs were met. Both were extremely welcoming, down to earth, and were receptive to feedback. (Which was a huge plus) There was a live DJ on this day and the music was amazing. The restaurant is semi decorated, and still needs some touching up but overall it was clean. Food: The menu is ehh in my opinion (I failed to take a pic) and all of the items are a la carte which I hope will change to combos (mirroring a typical ayisyen meal) The food was not bad at all. There is room for improvement but Iliana's has not been open for long. I will give them some time to get their menu items and tastes together. Drinks: all great and come with a shot of barbancourt! Yummy! You can also substitute liquors at an additional cost. Overall, I must say that I enjoyed my time here and will certainly return for another good time!

I've been dying to try this Haitian restaurant and finally decided to come on a Wednesday evening with my girlfriend. The staff immediately greeted us upon entering. I ordered the Barbancourt Margarita which was out of this world; and my bff ordered the Voodoo Punch cocktail which she enjoyed! We ordered the calamari, fried plantains with steak (meat could have been more flavorful), crab cakes which were so delicious, fried chicken wings in a sweet chili sauce (delish) all off of the Happy Hour menu. For our entree, we shared the legume with conch (lambi), it came with white rice (which I think they could have given a bit more rice), black beans and two fried plantains which was amazingly good! To end the lovely dinner, we indulged in desert, warm beignets filled with chocolate along with ice cream drizzled with chocolate sauce. Next time, I will come when the restaurant is livelier and enjoy the Iliana sampler!

Iliana Bar & Lounge is the spot The food here is out of this world. The oxtail falls off the bone, the goat is seasoned to perfection, the jerk wings bring that perfect kick, and the Haitian patties and mac n cheese are pure comfort food heaven. The service is top tier, with staff that are friendly, attentive, and make you feel right at home. On the weekends the DJ takes it to another level and the vibes are unmatched. If you want amazing food, great service, and the best energy in town, Iliana is it. 10 out of 10.

I stopped here during my lunch break and it was such a pleasant surprise. They had a lunch special that was $12 I got rice and beans with tasso(fried goat) as well as a coconut rum cocktail that was $7. Everything was so delicious. I even got the chance to try a new menu item pate kode it was amazing. I left here super satisfied, I will be back for sure.

I visited Illiana's for Sunday brunch, and I wasn't disappointed. The place is charming, cozy, and welcoming, just like the woman who greeted me. As I stepped in, some lively Kompa music was playing immediately setting a good vibe. The food was amazing; I tried the boulet and Johnny Cakes, giving them a solid 9 out of 10. My favorite, Legume, didn't let me down either it's a perfect 10. Plus, the drinks are bottomless, so that's another 10 in my book. I will definitely visit again.

I started with the calamari as an appetizer, which was excellent and made for a good first impression. Unfortunately, that changed when I noticed a dead fly in my glass of water. I found this immediately concerning and brought it to the staff's attention. My entrée, the Pechuga con Camarones a la Cabana, was good. However, I also ordered chicken tacos and discovered a long hair inside one of them. I showed it to the server, who responded promptly and offered to either remove the item from my bill or prepare another order. Although the server handled the situation appropriately, having a dead fly in my drink followed by a hair in my food was extremely off-putting. These are basic cleanliness and food safety concerns that should not occur in a restaurant. It also left me wondering how often issues like this may happen and whether proper attention is being given to sanitation and food preparation. The food itself was decent overall, and the calamari was particularly good, but the cleanliness issues overshadowed the positive aspects of the experience. If you choose to dine here, I strongly recommend paying close attention to your food and beverages before consuming them.

The hookah wasn't included in happy hour, but it was still a great price at $30, especially because that's usually close to what you'd pay at most places ....The food was honestly delicious, and I definitely plan on coming back on a weekend to experience Cayena as a full lounge. I also asked about their bottle service prices, and I was really impressed with how affordable they are. One thing I especially loved is that they don't automatically take out the tip, which I really appreciate because it makes me want to tip even more when the service is genuinely good. The whole place felt very welcoming. I believe the owner was there as well, and you could tell he was a hardworking man who really cares about his establishment. He was constantly moving around, making sure things were getting done and the place was running smoothly. I always love seeing an owner who is hands on and clearly takes pride in their business. This was my first time at Cayena Lounge, but it definitely won't be my last! If you're looking for a nice, affordable happy hour spot in Castle Hill I would definitely recommend giving Cayena Lounge a try. I'm looking forward to coming back on a weekend!

The drinks were good, the food was good, and the vibe was exactly what I've come to expect from them. But let me tell you about what happened after. When I got home, I didn't realize that I had left my sunglasses on the table. The next morning, when I couldn't find them, I figured that must be where I left them. I reached out to the restaurant, but honestly, in my heart I thought there was no way I'd ever see them again. Well... I was completely wrong. I received a response, and America (I hope I spelled her name correctly!) found them and held them for me until I could pick them up. Yes, the sunglasses were brand name, but to me it's the honesty and loyalty that really speaks volumes. That kind of integrity says a lot about a place and the people who work there. I'm incredibly thankful--and it's just another reason I'll keep coming back.

A host sat our group of three down and was very accommodating. It took a little while for them to take our drink orders, but it seemed like they were overwhelmed so it was understandable. The spicy margaritas were solid, but the lychee martini and raspberry lemon drop were not the best. We also wanted to order food and were told it would be about an hour wait. If I'm drinking, I definitely want to eat, so I asked if there was anything that could come out quicker for us to munch on. About halfway through the wait it seemed like they didn't have guac and chips, so they brought bread and butter out to a few tables. I guess that was their way of giving people something to snack on while waiting. Right before our dishes came out, one of the waitresses had us pay for what we ordered with her (a couple of waitresses were helping us). I thought that was a little tacky, she could've waited until we were done or combined the tabs since we were at the same table the whole time, not sure if that was possible. Anyways, the food was decent. We had the chicken tacos, nachos, and chicken chunks. I will say they play good music and had all the games people wanted to watch on. It seems like they need to work on being a little more organized and staying calm under pressure, but they have potential.

Our waitress which was also our bartender was very nice. For starters we had 2 orders of their happy hour wings. Happy hour wings come with 4 pieces. 1 order of buffalo and an order of sweet chili. Both were crispy and very tasty. We also had raspberry lemon drops which were presented beautifully. Well balanced, not too strong or sweet. The pineapple margarita was too sweet for me. We moved on the nachos w/ beef and a Beyond Burger for our entrees. Both were ok... once we received our check we noticed we weren't charged for a Beyond Burger but a Cheeseburger. That is a very dangerous mistake.... Luckily my BF prefers veggie patties and doesn't have any type of allergy, intolerance or religious reasoning behind it. Not sure how that was misconstrued but that mistake leads down a very slippery slope for people with any type of allergies & intolerance.
