I love the food here and the drinks are beautiful (looking and delicious). My favorite is the beef empanadas and the grilled chicken. The desserts are amazing too, try the tres leches! I've seen the Cover Girls here and TKA. It is a good venue size for the crowd it attracts. Yes, it is loud because they have a life dj, but it's an incredibly fun vibe! There is also parking which is a bonus in this neighborhood. It is difficult to get the waitresses at times. They could improve this and their customer service but I wil still keep going for the cover bands and the great food! read more

My family and I had dinner reservations here Sunday at 6:15pm. The restaurant wasn't busy. It was really nice inside. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. I picked the restaurant because my cousin is vegan and they had a Cuban style "beef" with rice and maduros. However, they were out so my cousin had to get a scampi pasta. He didn't really enjoy it. Whenever I want to listen to music or watch a game or spend time with my family, I take them here. It reminds me of a typical Latin family weekend. Music delicious Latin cuisine. Amazing drinks great service and then I say amazing food. It's a lot of fun. It can get loud so prepare yourself. They have a live DJ and they usually have live talent bands. Alma was absolutely amazing and truly made my birthday dinner so special! We had a large group of 24 people and she handled everything with such grace, patience and professionalism. From the moment we arrived, she went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of and orders were correct. She stayed attentive, kind and organized the entire time, which is not easy with such a big group. What stood out the most was her positive attitude and willingness to accommodate every request with a smile. She made sure the night flowed smoothly and that we all felt welcomed and celebrated. A fantastic new spot with a warm and welcoming team--the hostess, manager, and waitstaff were all on point, making sure we had everything we needed. We tried every appetizer on the menu and enjoyed plenty of drinks, all of which were excellent. The atmosphere was lively and had a club-like energy, especially with live music on Fridays. This is a modern, fresh take on Latin cuisine in Whitestone, Queens. It has an attractive bar with seating, well stocked and with an innovative mixologist (see some of the photos!) The margaritas and mojitos were very good, and the specialty cocktails (Santeria and Purple Rain) were as refreshing as they were beautiful. Our server Alma was an absolute delight and helped us get a good cross-section of their offerings. We started with bacalaitos en el aire (codfish fritters - awesome!) and, interestingly, Asian chicken dumplings (delicious but very small portion).Our mains consisted of Habana chicken (marinated half chicken with rice, beans and maduros) and Peruvian Lomo Saltado (steak sauteed with onions, peppers and Latin spices served with rice and fries). Both dishes were tender, juicy with loads of exotic flavor. We finished with the passion fruit cheese cake, which is a nice change from the standard dessert offerings around town. Coquito blu is top notch but the my didn't miss with the Blu Paloma or the Tu Sueños cocktail. The good food is great food. Not everything was to my taste so we venture a bit into the negatives. Highly recommend the Pioninos Rellenos, the Grilled salmon is good but the coconut rice is the star of the show. If you came hungry, DEFINITELY get the Lechoncito Boricua and thank me later. I'll wait... The Nutella Tres Leche dessert will have you floating in the air on cloud 9. Other than the added gratuity for drinks above $50 (kind of hidden but understandable) and the few items I wasn't a huge fan of (skip the salads), there's no way you DONT come back. First time trying this place- went with a large group. The DJ & musics was great. The place was full and jumping but not overly crowded. The food was actually pretty tasty as were the cocktails. I think it's a great value for Brunch. While the service is sweet and attentive, it is SLOW. We allotted 2 hours for our Brunch and entrees weren't out in that time. We did have apps and drinks. We had a group of 17. Those that were able to stay enjoyed a good meal. The apps and drink were more liked than the entrees however. read more

First of all the place is beautiful. A recent remodel was done tastefully and still warm and cozy. Our server was a sweetheart and attentive. The background music of classic salsa was enjoyable and at the right volume where you could still talk to your dinner companions without having to raise your voice. The drinks were great. Espresso martini, coquito blu and jardín de rosa were excellent. The food came out hot and delicious. We had piononos and bacalaitos as appetizers. I wish I could give more stars since I actually did have a very nice time. The place is very nicely decorated and has an elegant vibe. It has a beautiful bar fully stocked. There is a dj in the middle of the dining area who hypes up the patrons. When I came here on a Sunday, it was extremely busy. My friends and I were seated and waited a good while to be asked for drinks. Our server was very sweet and apologized for the long wait. Once we got our sangrias, he took our appetizer and entrees order. My sangria was beautifully decorated and he made sure to have our glasses full at all times since it was a bottomless brunch. The music was great, the drinks are flowing but the amount of time we waited even just for the appetizers were as unreasonable. We waited at least an hour for the appetizers which were actually delicious, we got a variety of pizzas, shrimp, empanadas and guacamole. By the time our entrees came, we all asked for to go containers and we took them home. Heating up the food at home, I did not get to enjoy the food the same way. I would give this place another chance but they really have to work on bringing the food out at a reasonable amount of wait time. read more

This was my second time going here for Brunch. Since the first time I went for Brunch it was so amazing, I decided to take my whole family for a Father's Day Brunch. The whole experience had nothing to do with the first Brunch I had there. The appetizers were so small, they changed the whole Brunch Menu for smaller portions. Also they ran out of burgers, and stake with onions as main courses. We ended up asking for churrasco and they were so hard and not a great flavor. Also the sangria wasn't as good as the first time. I think the food could have been better and bigger portions since Father's Day was a celebratory occasion. The whole reason I came back to this brunch was because the previous one was a lot food and the sangrias were amazing. Too bad this experience wasn't the same. The only thing that remains the same is the service. Alma is an amazing and professional server. She has a 5 start review from me and the reason my review is 4 starts is because of the quantity of the food, and the quality of the food and drinks. The DJ had the whole room in sync, and my group was having such a great time, I literally had to beg them to leave. No one wanted the day to end. I also want to address something I've seen in a few other reviews--some people have described this place as "ghetto." That was not my experience at all. The crowd was incredibly diverse, stylish, and full of people who just wanted to enjoy good food, good music, and good company. I really like the decor at this place. It is very modern with a bit of Mediterranean feel. It was fun having a dj but if you arent a fan of loud music, you may want to opt for the outdoor seating. It was packed on a Friday night. The Coquito Blu Guacamole with tostones and chicharron was delicious. The Coquito Picadera was huge and fed the entire table. The Flatbreads are all good. The Lomo Saltado with filet mignon was so tender and delicious. My group had the Lechoncito and Paella. Both dishes were really good. The Paella was really flavorful and they do not skimp on seafood. The steak was delicious but black beans were bland and flavorless, this place can use more menu items. The drink was good but can't taste the alcohol at all. I would've tipped more but once you add your own tip that's all you'll receive. I hope they improve on the menu items. Place is nice but way too dark inside. I am only writing this review so the management can make changes because I've been here several times and the food is tasty. The issue we had was the service. It was Father's Day weekend and we expected it to be busy however what we experienced as well as others who sat near us was below standard. We had a reservation and we didn't get seated until 45 min later. We were patient and wasn't too upset about it again given it was a holiday weekend. However it is what took place after. We sat at our table for another 30 minutes before a waitress came to us. I asked several waitress that passed by and they stated they would get us our waitress. Our waitress , when she finally came made a general apology and she just seemed annoyed the whole experience. We put in both our appetizers and dinner choices as well as our drinks all at once because we knew it probably take a long time due to what we experienced already. It took another 20 minutes to get our drinks and another 30 minutes to get appetizers . The people next to us were also upset and after they received their appetizers decided to leave without even eating dinner because they didn't want to wait anymore . There was another couple next to us who never got any food and they decided to leave after about 45 min of waiting. After getting our appetizer finally , our dinner came out about 30 minutes later. I like the food there but am reconsidering about going again. While I was waiting for our food, I decided to look at previous reviews and it seems this is an area this establishment needs to work on. read more
