Upon arrival, management informed us they had no cook and no staff available and were unsure if anyone would be coming in due to an impending storm. For context, the storm was not expected until Sunday. There was no one available to serve drinks or hookah, and we were advised to leave, eat elsewhere, and come back. When we returned later that evening (still before 11:00 PM), we asked for hookah and were quoted $43. I showed them their Instagram story posted just a few hours earlier advertising promotional pricing valid before 11 PM. Despite this, they refused to honor their own posted promotion. Between the lack of staffing, poor communication, and refusal to honor advertised pricing, this was a very disappointing experience. I came to unwind and instead left frustrated. This reflects poorly on management and overall business practices.

We only had drinks, so I can't speak to how the food is, although it looked like they mainly offered finger foods. I tried their rum punch and limoncello spritz, and both were good. Unfortunately, the experience ended up being extremely disappointing. I booked a birthday gathering for 12 people. I was told there was a $40-per-person deposit, which was non-refundable, and that this amount would be applied as a credit toward food and drinks ordered during the event. My deposit totaled $480. I was also told there would be a 20% tip, which Jimmy said would be $95 in cash on the day of the event. The establishment also promoted drink specials, including happy hour from 5-8 PM and a buy-one-get-one promotion. However, when we arrived, those advertised deals were not honored. The biggest issue came when we received the bill. The bartending staff was extremely rude and unprofessional when I questioned charges on the receipt. We were being charged what appeared to be double amounts for certain items, along with an additional tip/fee. When I questioned the charges, the bartender argued with me and even threatened to call the police if I did not pay the additional amount. According to the receipt, the additional tip and fees brought the charges to approximately $525, despite our $480 deposit and the fact that we did not receive the drink specials that had been advertised. The food was also extremely disappointing. I ordered a steak with fries, as did several of my friends. The steaks were so poorly prepared that we had to send them back to be cooked again. Even after they were returned, the steak was still extremely hard and chewy. Let's keep in mind this was finger bar food that shouldn't have cost the amount we were being charged. The food was nowhere near the quality I would expect for the amount of money we spent. There also appeared to be no security or management present to properly handle the situation. When I called Jimmy during the situation to express my concerns and explain what happened, instead of listening and attempting to resolve the issue, he yelled at me over the phone. It's escalate the situation even more. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Between the advertised promotions not being honored, questionable charges, poor-quality food, rude and unprofessional service, and the way my concerns were handled by management, I would not recommend this place. For a birthday celebration with 12 people, spending close to $1,000 for poor food and terrible service was absolutely unacceptable. I expected much better and left feeling completely disappointed and taken advantage of. Three different receipts and I'm still confused.

We jumped over to the bar right beside and drank some girly drinks before getting the notification our table was ready. As with nearly every establishment in NYC, it is very close quarters in paradise lost. We stood at a table while waiting for seats at the bar to become available. Which, we didn't mind. I could see how this might be a little harder to get a seat for a bigger group if you aren't there before 6. It seemed that once a group got a big table, they camped out. The drinks were strong and creative. Friendly bartenders, good music, and yummy options for bar snacks. Also, the bathroom is a nice touch. Given the hell theming for the bar, the bathroom is a 180 and while using the Lou, you can listen to the bible being recited. Theres also a spooky surprise if you press the button in the bathroom. Speaking of the bathroom, it is at the bottom of some decently narrow stairs. So, try and stay sober enough for stairs or you may fall. Go to this bar. You will have fun.

I wanted to celebrate my husband's 50th birthday on Saturday, May 16th, and after searching a few places, I settled on Sobro Garden especially after finding out it was one of Jimmy's spots. We celebrated with 30 of our closest family and friends, and it truly became a night he said he'll never forget. Where do I start? Let me begin by saying Sobro Garden, you guys did NOT disappoint!! First and foremost, thank you Jimmy, because when I tell you this man went above and beyond to make everyone feel like family at his establishment, I truly mean it. Jimmy personally checked in with everyone going table to table making sure everyone was enjoying themselves, asking if everything was good from the drinks, atmosphere, music and food was to satisfaction because he genuinely wanted everyone to enjoy and especially told my husband it's a blessing to hit a milestone, celebrating with family and friendsand hope his place made it a memorable one. Jimmy is truly a perfectionist at heart. A host beyond host!! Even taking pictures with everyone. He took several pictures with my husband and even accidentally walked away with his iPhone for a moment & my husband allow his too he didn't realize it was his phone until I told him. Our maître d', Suhaily, was such a beautiful soul inside and out. She made the entire booking process for my husband's event feel effortless. She guided me step by step, helped choice a menu plan, stayed in communication the whole time and was so patient, kind and welcoming the moment I arrived. Her smile and warm hearted present made the experience even better. She greeted me as if we knew each other for years and our waitress and waiter? Absolutely AMAZING. My husband, our guests and I were attended to with such PRISTINE EXCELLENCE all night long. Now let's talk about the FOOD... because BABY!!! Everything was DELICIOUS. I can't even single out one item because every dish hit the spot. Everyone at our tables ordered something different, so we all got to taste a little bit of everything from the pernil, steak & onions, grilled salmon, chicken, arroz con gandules, fried fish, steak skewers and BABY... those famous Crack Wings Rub had everybody wanting to eat their fingers To top it all off, the highlight of the night was seeing Melle Mel celebrating his birthday from the day before and actor Darrin Henson, so handsome in person was also in the building. Both were so down-to-earth and when Melle Mel grabbed the mic, he absolutely brought the house down!! Thank you again to EVERYONE at Sobro Garden for making my husband's 50th birthday celebration such an UNFORGETTABLE Experience. We will DEFINITELY be Back!

This place has changed so much over the last four years--and while a lot can change in that time,…read moreit was still disappointing to see. I stopped by on a weekday around 3:00-4:00 p.m., right as happy hour was starting. According to their website, happy hour runs from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The main reason I came was for their frozen rosé, which I remembered being one of the best. It's definitely more of a sweet, refreshing drink than a strong one, but it still gives you a nice buzz. I was even willing to pay full price for it. I literally paid for an Uber just because I was craving that frozen drink. The first thing I noticed was that, despite it being broad daylight, there was a security guard at the door checking IDs and searching bags. That's their policy, and that's fine, but what really stood out was the condition of the entrance. The front door was cracked and held together with duct tape. It seemed odd to be so focused on security while basic maintenance appeared to be neglected. When I walked in, I was only the second customer in the entire bar besides the bartender. Unfortunately, I found out the frozen drink machines have been broken for months, so there were no frozen drinks available at all. The bartender mentioned that she has repeatedly told management the machines need to be repaired, but nothing has been done. Since that was the only reason I came, and nothing else on the menu really caught my interest, I decided not to stay. This place has changed dramatically since the COVID era. The atmosphere feels completely different. One of the things I used to enjoy was their hookah happy hour, which was around $25 with refills for about $10-$15, and they had a great selection of flavors. From what I've heard, they no longer offer hookah, and it sounds like they may not have had the proper license back then, which is concerning if true. Another thing I miss is the outdoor seating area they had during COVID. The indoor space is pretty small, but the outdoor setup made the bar feel much larger and created a much better atmosphere. It's disappointing that they didn't keep it because I think it really added to the experience and probably helped attract more customers. Sorry I didn't take any photos, but honestly, there wasn't much worth photographing. The interior hasn't really changed, so the existing photos online are still an accurate representation of what it looks like still.
