I'm changing my review. I wrote to the owners of the salon and they sent me a refund and a complimentary gift card for additional services. They really went above and beyond to make sure I was able to get an accurate opinion of this establishment. Since my last experience, I've been for a manicure, massage and DH went for a "man day" on fathers day which included a massage, hair cut and something else. I'm pretty impressed with what I've witnessed here and there hasn't been another incident. Everything has been relaxing and I've received excellent customer service. read more

They do a good job. I liked how the stylist was really honest with me. I had a very, very, VERY bad experience with a stylist from another salon who ruined my dye job and ultimately my hair. I've been trying to fix my hair ever since. The stylist here was very honest with me about what I should do with it to get it back to the length and the strength it once was at. She simply said it wasn't ready for color yet and I need to continue to grow out the bad dye job and get it to the length I'm used to before fixing the color. Appreciated an educated stylist who wasn't trying to make extra money or sell extra things I simply didn't need and my hair couldn't handle. Thank you! read more

I went here for a blow out and style. Something came up so I had to call and push my appointment back a half hour and the front desk staff was super accommodating and pleasant to deal with. Upon arrival I was greeted by the friendly front desk staff and I immediately priced the noise level, it was SUPER loud! It's an open concept salon with probably 20 or more freestanding stations, definitely not the relaxing spa environment I anticipated. The stylist greeted me within moments and I didn't have to wait long. The shampoo bowls didn't have the neck cushion on them and were very uncomfortable, the stylist could barely hear me ask her a question because it was so loud in there! stylist was friendly and not over talkative but definitely took her sweet time (aka slow). I showed her a picture of the style I wanted and she did something similar which was ok but not what I was going for but it looked cute so I was satisfied. My Blow outs in the past have typically lasted 4 days, I wrapped my hair that night as I've done with past blowouts and the next day almost all of my hair was flat, no bueno! So I duno if it was the product used or the technique used but I was not happy I had to restyle my hair less than 24 hours after I paid someone to do it for me. I wouldn't return because the style didn't hold up and the noise level was wayyyy too loud for my liking. read more

I've been going to IMage Creators for over 12 years, and I've had everything, from every department, done. I've had problems with my longstanding stylist. She tends to be very conservative on me. I think it's so I don't get "freaked" by anything too drastic. My problem is that I don't speak up well, I'm not good at letting people know I'm not happy. I decided to try a new stylist that shares the same hair type. She was recommended for me when I explained what I wanted. Becky gave me a great cut. After the blow dry she checked with me and she cut a little more. I recommend Image Creators to anyone. They make you feel comfortable and always try to work with you to make you happy with the results. read more

Jae is the best stylist I have ever had. i get compliments on my hair cuts all the time; she is professional, skilled and her work station is clean and organized. and, she has a great personality so in addition to getting a great cut and look- you actually have fun while you are there. the front desk staff is also great and very friendly. i highly recommend Jae for your hair. read more

I used to love this salon, but since they no longer have a manager running the place it has gone downhill. No more specials, no more coupons, everyone seems distracted, and on my last visit there were no clean smocks to protect the client. We went today for a mommy/daughter day. We were late but I called ahead to say we were running late. They did not say this would be a problem. We checked in and went to use the restroom. We must have been called when we were in the restroom because the nail technician was walking away when we got back. When we sat down we were called again, and went to the nail place. I had booked the Little Beauties manicure and pedicure for my 4yr old and the express manicure and pedicure for me. The lady that did my daughters services was very friendly and made us feel very comfortable. She instructed us to pick our nail color and brought my daughter to her chair. I noticed there was another women sitting there but she did not say anything to us so I thought she was waiting for another customer. My daughter started her manicure and I stood behind her since no one said anything. The women doing my daughters nails said she will do your nails and pointed to the woman I thought was waiting for another customer, who still didn't say anything or acknowledge me in anyway. I can't even tell you what her name was since she didn't say anything. When we moved over to the pedicure it was the same thing, nothing really said. I think she was mad we were late but they should have said something, I would have rather rescheduled or skipped mine than to not be talked to or acknowledged. Then I went to pay and was told that it would be $95. I was in shock. I should have asked before going how much a kids manicure and pedicure was and I will never make that mistake again. A kids pedicure is $35. Same as an adults. They don't do much but put them in a pedicure chair and paint their tiny little nails. I wouldn't recommend the express services either, again not much but painting nails but for the price of a full service mani and pedi. I also had to go back in to get stray nail polish that was on the sides of my toes taken off. I will continue to go for eyebrow waxing but would never go back for mommy/daughter day. read more

I went in for a simple bob and my hair is now totally messed up. The stylist went crazy with the thinning shears and now my hair no longer looks healthy, feels stringy at the bottom and clumpy at the top. I am afraid I am going to have to chop it all off and start over. VERY UNHAPPY! Note to self: Stick to your regular hairstylist! read more

I went here for a haircut twice. I was assigned to a Designer II stylist (supposedly the best they've got). The first haircut was very conservative. I left with my hair feeling heavy and not well cut (I have very thick hair). The second time, I went to see the same woman and encouraged her to thin out my hair. SHE BUTCHERED IT. It was clear that she had no idea what to do with all of my hair. It was cut at all different lengths and looked terrible. She had no idea what kind of product to use or how to razor cut my thick, bobbed hair. I won't be coming back. read more

I have been going to Image creators for many years for facials and massages and I've always been pleased with the service. I made an appointment one day to have a pre-trial airbrush make-up service done for my wedding. I was there for over an hour and left very disappointed. I had streaks on my jaw line from the airbrush not being blended. I asked for gold shimmer and black eyeliner and she gave me brown eye shadow and brown eyeliner. The worst part she burned my eyes with the eye glue on the eyelash extensions and told me my eyes are just sensitive. I've put eyelash strips on myseld before many of times not once have I ever burned myself. At the end of the service she asked how I liked it and I said I wanted gold shimmer and she tryed to adjust the shadow, but it looked exactly the same. After being there so long I just wanted to leave. When I got to the register I thought she would at least give me a discount for burning my eyes.....I was wrong she charged me $120! It looked like a 5 year old did my make up. I paid and called later to express how I felt about my service......come to find out she was the manager! And told me she did what I wanted sorry. Didn't offer me coupons or anything just simply stated sorry. If you want massages and facials I definitely recommend this place, but for any kind of make-up service unless you want your eyes burned I suggest you go somewhere else. read more

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and a perfect cut every time. My wife and daughter get their haircut here and they come out gorgeous every time. Elle is a Fantastic stylist and we have been coming here for years. They have ALL the lines of hair care products to keep your hair healthy and looking great. They offer various other services from brow wax, to nails, to coloring. I can tell you if this place folds, it will be hard to replace. Compared to a "corporate hair cut store" this place stand tall above all those with the personalized feel you get on every single visit. If I had hair, I would get it cut here. If your looking to treat yourself like royalty, without the royalty price, then this place is for you. Be sure to take advantage of all the specials they offer throughout the week. read more

I was so disappointed in this salon. I am new to the area and was recommended by someone who I saw at a fair with an amazing cut/color. However I saw Shell and was so disappointed in the level of service, listening, communication and results that I will not be returning... first off, I asked for full highlights and an inverted bob. When explaining to the staff at reception when I called, they told me it would be no more than $149. I explained what I wanted to Shell upon arrival and she sounded like she could achieve my goal, but getting me as light as I wanted might not happen today... after my hair was dried, I realized she did not AT ALL do a full highlight, instead I just had a couple of pieces on blonde by my face and not all over... I expressed my disappointment, but it really didn't seem to phase her... she neve showed me the back of my hair and I was so caught up in the rest of my bad experience that I forgot to ask. It wasn't until I got home that I realized it was a straight bob and not the cut I asked for. Furthermore, my bill was in the $180s... when I asked reception what that was about because I was quoted under $150, they couldn't provide an answer... so, not the right cut, not the right color, not the right price, and definitely not worth that kind of money. Thumbs down. Bought polish here that was like sandpaper. They wouldn't allow me to return the faulty product. It would have been better PR and so easy for them to use the polish in their own salon and give me a store credit. read more

I had the pleasure of having a mani/pedi with Georgia, i must say my feet needed lots of work & attention which i was so pleased with the pedicure service i recieved. she worked extra hard on my calluses to make my feet feel fresh & smooth,,,happy feet!!! We just used Image Creators for hair and makeup for all the girls in my daughter's bridal party. They treated us so well the entire time we were there. It is already a stressful day with tensions running high, but as the morning progressed, I could see my daughter (the bride) really relaxing. Between the hair stylists and the makeup artist, they all kept us on schedule. They listened to us , and all of the girls came out happy, looking and feeling great. Would highly recommend for bridal hair and makeup! read more

My daughter made an appointment at Image Creators Friday evening. Unfortunately we were unable to be serviced at Image Creators. We live in Severna Park and we are African American. After shampooing my daughter's hair, the stylist realized and admitted that she hadn't done my daughter's texture hair in 11 years and didn't feel like she could blow dry and flat iron style it. We ended up leaving the salon. I'm not writing this review to bad mouth anyone and I'm not naming any names. I'm writing this review to question that if you are a professional in any field, sometimes you have to take a refresher or build capacity to address diversity or other customers, even if they are in the minority. I'm sure that there are some non minority women that have curly/kinky hair texture. Even if your target audience or customers is predominantly one type, it would improve on customer service to at least figure out a way to be a little more inclusive and knowledgeable about how to meet the customer service needs of other potential clients. read more

New to the area. Liked the look of the place, good diversity in staff. While waiting, I overheard quite a bit of talk about the "bait and switch" pricing between different stylists. The front desk, and particularly large and extremely boisterous front manager, (wow cant believe she still has a job!) were very inefficient and unprofessional. Made me feel unwelcome, and as a male sometimes a salon is an uncomfortable place to begin with. Great cut, bad overall experience, wont return. read more

I received several gift certificates at Christmas for nail salons. I've been going to each over the last few months, getting gel manicures. I haven't had a problem with any of them until now. I went to Image Creators for my gel manicure. This is my first time getting this type of manicure at Image Creators, and though the nail technician was very sweet, I am disappointed. After waiting 1/2 hour after my appointment time to be called back (apparently they forgot to mention to anyone in the nail area that I was there), I was taken back and treated to a friendly manicure. I have nothing bad to say about the technician. I was only getting the express manicure with gels ($30 - a lot considering I can get a full on manicure with gels right around the corner for a few dollars more). Still, it was "free" since I had a giftcard. I was happy with the outcome and the look of my nails. I was slightly concerned that they didn't feel as strong or solid as usual, but they looked good. I left a happy camper, despite the 1/2 hour wait (and seriously, if I did this to a customer, I would throw in something to make it up to them...a free upgrade in manicure or a quick hand massage). Anyway, on Thursday of that same week, one nail had begun to peel at the tip. It didn't appear that I chipped it on anything as the nail wasn't damaged in anyway. I called to make an appointment to repair it the next day, but later canceled b/c I had messed with it and decided to trim it and move on. Fast forward to Monday (one week after my manicure). I now have three damaged nails. The first nail completely peeled off as well as one other, and the third nail beginning to peel at the tip. I was out of town all day, so I didn't call until Tuesday. I was told that I would have to pay $4-$5 dollars a nail to get them repaired! What?? My GEL manicure technically lasted less than a week (less time than a regular manicure should last), and I have to pay to repair it to the tune of half the price of a full manicure? I don't think so. I should mention, I did not do anything strenous with my hands - I didn't clean with chemicals in the last week, I didn't work in the yard, and my job is a librarian - not exactly strenuous use of my hands. My nails were not damaged - just peeling nailpolish. I've decided I'll live without nice nails until I go to one of the other places I've used recently. In the meantime, I'll use the rest of my Image Creators giftcard for something other than nails. read more

Where should we begin? How about the appointment - I made an appointment two months in advance for prom hairstyles for my daughter and her friend - the lady quoted me $50 - $80 per hairstyle. On arrival, the staff was extremely rude and showed poor customer service; they acted bothered that we were there. Then, the lady was clueless as to our appointment time, thinking it was an hour earlier and that we had missed our appointment. The girls sat for 30 minutes before anyone attended them (more time wasted), with staff stating they had nobody available to attend them. Isn't that the point of making an appointment?? I informed them the girls had an appointment with a photographer immediately following, and their staff was apathetic. The lady then informed me that the prices would be based on the experience level of the stylist - that the least experienced stylist would be less, the ones with more experience would cost more, and the "experts" would be the most expensive. When they brought the stylists to the girls so they could explain the hairstyles they wanted (with photos), the stylists said "BRAIDING IS NOT MY THING." The girls changed their minds to different hairstyles; from that point forward the stylists had an ABSOLUTELY STUPID attitude, acting bothered by the girls' request for braids. When my daughter decided to change her hairstyle, the stylist told her she couldn't change her mind. When the stylists were curling the girls' hair, it was clear they had no experience whatsoever with styling. The end result was two hairstyles that any child could have performed on one another - super frizzy and terrible. The kicker was when I asked for the manager to discuss the poor quality of the hairstyles, the lady at the counter told me the total would be $180 (90/each) !!! I asked why this was, and was told curling their hair added to the price. I was also informed that there was a separate envelope for tips. I asked again for the manager, and told them I was completely dissatisfied. To my surprise, when the lady at the counter called the manager over, it was the same horrible lady that had attended us since the beginning (Kim Boslow)! Management sets the tone for customer service, and in this case it is no wonder this place gets so many one star reviews - customer service is NON-EXISTENT. The only reason I did not leave zero stars as a rating is because you are required to mark at least one star. I actually had to reaccomplish both of their haristyles once we arrived at home. The absolute best was when two of their friends came to the house and had intricate, gorgeous braid hairstyles, done through a friend, for $30/each! Thanks a million Image Creators, thanks for NOTHING. Lots of $$ flushed down the toilet. I would have been better off coming down to your salon and just giving you $180 for nothing - at least I wouldn't have left with a headache and the aggravation of having to redo their hairstyles myself. And oh, by the way, they were late to their appointment for their photographer. Thanks again, for nothing! Worthless business!!! read more
