Athena truly is a goddess! She has been successfully dealing with my thick, curly hair for years which any of you with curly hair knows is a challenge! I'm doing a review for nail services, not hair, FYI. I came across a Groupon for nail services with Julia. It was easy peezy to make an appointment with her over the phone. It's located off Halsey, not too far from Target (which is always dangerous). The salon is tucked away in a small strip of shops next to a car wash place and Bumpers Grill & Bar. Julia is a sweetheart, good listener & great artist. I rarely get my nails done, so this visit was a treat to myself for my birthday. I brought a hand drawn pic of the color scheme & theme I was going for. I explained that I envisioned beach colors because we are going to Seaside to celebrate my birthday. Once I explained & showed her what I was going for, she was totally on board & loved the idea. This was my first time ever getting a gel manicure and I was very impressed with Julia's skills. I love my nails & think they look beautiful. I can't see myself maintaining manicured nails for longer than a couple of months, but when I do them again, I will definitely go to Julia-Groupon or not! Went in to see Ashley for a haircut tonight and with the urging of my wife and encouragement of Ashley ended up with eyebrow waxing and nose hair waxing. Wild stuff, lol. Wow! Is all I can say. I'm pretty bummed to have to give this place a low review. My stylist, Makayla, was so nice as was everyone else there. Their Covid measures seem very prudent and safe, and the pricing was fair. However, the first time I went in, my hair was quite uneven. I tried to get fringe curtain bangs, and one side was much thicker than the other. I ended up coming back, and while I appreciated that she did not charge me to fix it, it ended up being uneven again with one side significantly shorter than the other. I had to resort to cutting one side myself, because I did not want to return a second time. I'm getting my hair done again soon and I will not be returning to Image Makers. read more

I went in looking for something very specific and now as a 24 year old female, I look like Shawn from boy meets world. I went to the older lady with the short red hair, and she has no idea what she is doing. She is unable to do modern haircuts and instead of letting the client know that she was unable to do the haircut, she continues to just mess your hair up. My hair is so short I can not do anything to fix it. She ruined my hair, spent the entire time trash talking the other stylist who was there, and she destroyed my hair. I am literally traumatized from this experience and I will probably never go to another salon again because of her. It's the next day and she was so rough with my head the entire back of my head is tender and sore. She combed the bleach and the hair dye through my hair (I could hear my hair snapping and breaking), she also continued to cut my hair even after I told her I didn't want it any shorter and she covered it up by saying "I'm getting the stragglers" in reality she cut another 1/4 an inch off of my hair. When I told her I wanted it to compliment the frame of my face (I have a round shaped face) she looked at me for half a second and said "oh who can tell with these masks anyways" I also got quoted $80 and I ended up paying $110. She charged me $30 for something I could have done at home for $15, and I wouldn't have messed up my hair. I do not recommend the specific lady who cut my hair, I personally feel like she shouldn't even be cutting hair at all, and the current state of my head is proof. The salon as a whole was welcoming, but if you have an appointment with the 70 year olds red head, either ask for someone else or go to a whole new salon. Do not let that lady near your head. Salon gets a 8/10 The girl who did my hair gets a -5/10 I asked for one of those two pictures and ALL my hair is gone. She cut it ALL off except for the top of my head. Update: Athena fixed my hair today and it feels amazing. Athena listened to all of the issues I had with Loretta and she was the sweetest lady I've ever met. She went above and beyond in fixing this situation and I HIGHLY recommend Athena, she was amazing. She also gave me shampoo and conditioner to try and fix my hair even more at home. read more

I called on a Thursday evening after 6:00 and Yali answered. I requested a haircut Friday with anyone available. Since they are independent she let me know she'd send out a text to the stylists to see if anyone had openings. She then called me from her personal phone later then evening to let me know Margie had an opening. It was so nice how she went out of her way to assist me in getting an appointment. I went in Friday afternoon to see Margie for my cut. She was thorough, quick and did exactly what I asked. I will most definitely be back. The customer service was exceptional. Lynneah told me to come back for a redo but at the same time she told me that my hair is too long and it's the reason I didn't get any curls even though I had longer hair with a perm before. Been here 3 times to see Yali for 2 pedicure and a manicure. She is great very friendly and welcoming. Did I mention gentle? In the 3 times i have been there to see her she has not once nsnippeed my finger or toes. My feet and fingers look clean and feel fresh. I have always had problems with my two big toes and having ingrown toe nails. She is trained to place a brace on your toe to correct it. I just had mine done on 11/30 so in 6 weeks we shall see how they are doing. I will update my review as time goes on. Her prices are reasonable and you are her main attention she is never in a hurry to get you in and out. Will continue to come to Yali as my wallet will allow lol read more

Prices are very reasonable for the level of skill and quality of service. She is very accommodating to any special needs you may have. It's been over a year since my awful experience with Loretta. My hair was DESTROYED by this woman, and I'm still suffering from her incompetence. Anyone that is giving this woman positive reviews must not have had her do color or is a friend or relative trying to offset my HONEST review. I was pleased that the salon had a very sanitary foot bath sink, rather than the type with recirculating water that are vectors of bacteria and fungus pathogens. Just had my first haircut with Suzette and she is AWESOME. I have super thick, long hair and wanted a long Bob/shag. Normally stylists don't listen to me when I want a big change AND they usually take 1.5 to 2 hours after which I am exhausted. Suzette was done in less than an hour and it's by far my favorite short cut I've had. She also offered to have me come back any time if I decided I wanted more trimmed off for free! On top of that the salon is super cute, everyone seems super talented as all the clients looked just beautiful when they were done! AND they somehow manage to not have a horrible acetone or hairspray smell despite doing hair and nails. Super good deal, super nice salon, I'm really happy I decided to find a new stylist! read more
