I use to really love this place and was a regular. However my last experience was so bad that I can't go back anymore. The man at the front desk is very rude. TLDR; Linda does an amazing job with eyebrows, but there is no concept of an appointment at this salon or proper customer service. I've been coming here for years to get my eyebrows done by Linda (occasionally nails) but my last 3 experiences were so bad that I can't come back here anymore. Most of my review pertains to the man at the front desk. During my visit a couple months ago, there was poor communication between Linda and the receptionist (man at the front desk) that I was left unattended in the back room for 20+ minutes. Basically, he forgot to tell Linda that I was waiting for her to do my eyebrows and I had to come back out to the front desk asking why it was taking so long. He said he forgot and Linda had to rush to do my eyebrows because she was helping another customer at the same time. Earlier this month..I scheduled an appointment with the same man at the front desk for 6pm. When I arrived, I found out another girl was waiting for Linda and her appointment was at 6pm too! After 20 minutes of waiting, Linda took me first. Already annoyed at having to wait 20+ minutes for my appointment but can't even imagine the other customer who has to wait even longer when she was there before me and had scheduled an appointment at the same time as mine. Last visit (ever), scheduled an appointment at 5:45pm over the phone with the same receptionist. I waited until 6:10pm to ask him how much longer it's going to take, but to tell me he has no idea what's taking so long. Instead of checking how much longer or being apologetic, he just sat there telling me to wait some more. So I left... My fault for coming here 3x before realizing the poor customer service. I have been here twice and I am not impressed at all. On my first visit, I noticed that the receptionist was super nice to all the regulars. Offered them water or tea, but to me... nothing. I got my manicure and I was out the door. Then a week later I was in desperate need of a pedicure and I thought I would give them another shot. Again... no offer of water or tea like everyone else got... the pedicure was ok... but less than a week later, then nail of my big toe on my left foot fell off!!!!!!! Then 5 days after that... the nail of my big toe on my right foot fell off!!!!!!! I took the polish off and noticed that under the nails that I have a fungus. I have never had this before and could not have gotten this anywhere else. I would think twice before soaking your toes in thier tubs! read more

I called to make an appointment for a mani/pedi at 2pm on a Tuesday. I arrived on time, but waited for about 10 minutes before I got seated into the massage chair. Then I sat there patiently, waited and waited for about 45 MINUTES before they started on me!!!!! The lady who did my pedi was decent with painting my toe nails but she scraped my foot with the pumice, now I have these red scabs on the side of the my foot. There's an older lady who did my my nails, she cut my cuticles too deep, 3 of my fingers were bleeding. She tried to stop the bleeding by putting on some rubbing alcohol and made the sting even worse. It was like torture! I got a French mani with glitter on the tips but after everything was done, they are the ugliest mani I've ever seen. After 2 hours and 45 minutes of this misery, I walked out with a busted foot, ugly French manicure. Oh Did I mention this was for my wedding? I seriously can't express how disappointed I am with this place. I will NEVER come back ever!!!! read more

I've been coming here for years and years, so this review is long overdue! The ladies here are wonderful, they make you feel so pampered and I have never ever left disappointed. I think Helen is my favorite, she does amazing Shellac but to be honest all the ladies are really talented and the pedicures are incredible. Went in during thier happy hour the sign says $32 manicure and pedicure happy hour 11am-2pm and also says "do not request" I assumed that meant not to request it because as long as I'm there during those hours that's just the service they are going to be providing. WRONG! Silly me I should have just asked to make sure. The manicure was fine no complaints, the pedicure was ok she cut me twice, once on each foot and the 2nd time I said "ouch" she said "you're so sensitive" ummm yea I don't really know anyone who enjoys getting cut while having a pedicure. Anyway after it was all said and done I went up to pay and my grand total was $58!!! Really?! There was absolutely nothing special about any of the service I received. I love Image Perfection and their staff. I come here almost every 2 weeks to pamper myself... Hey, I work hard so I'm allowed to treat myself right?!! I get the full works - mani, pedi, and waxing. Their staff can do it all but I love the way Linda does my eyebrows. They really take their time with each client and they don't try to rush to get the next customer in the chair. I found out about this shop from my cousin who's a regular here. And if any of you know my cousin (she will be nameless) she bout-it bout-it with her nails being did. Came here about 2:15p on a weekday with my S-I-L for mani/padis. They were super quick, thourough and let us sit and chit chat for an hour in our pedi-massage chairs until our nails dried. It wasn't busy at all, so actually I think they would have let us stayed as long we wanted! The kicker is that we came when it was super slow. So slow in fact that we both had 2 ladies working on us at the same time! As soon as they were done with us, they all went to the back and chit chatted with each other while prepping/cleaning the store. Kinda like, "cool, you're done, we're done." lol. But the outcome was really good, too and my nails didn't chip for weeks. We'll see if the next time I visit, if its busy etc, but I will definitley be coming back here for my nail needs when I'm in the 650. I used to love this place. My daughter took me for a mani pedi for Mother's Day. Really bad experience barely had my feet in the water 30 sec and the lady pulled them out then proceeded to hurry through the process and even made me yell "ouch" I now have a very sore baby toe. I went to this place one day when my regular pedicure place couldn't take me, I had planned my day getting a pedicure and enjoying my time off.. I walked in a weekday morning, they have a happy hour special which is pretty cool but I just wanted Pedicure. Not too packed maybe 3 people in there, I got someone eho was nice and talked with me told me about pedicure spa treatments and all that.. I liked my nailpolish i took awhile to come off and it was the regular polish! Also, like their choices of polish with numbers on it... Only bad thing which I did notice they clean their tools in a sterilization but she had digged in my big toe a lot. Days later my toe was pussing and had a little infection i dont know if its from the tools or the fact she dig in my nails. One of the younger ladies was super rude and unclear about the cost and timing. I called and asked do you have time now to do the pedicure and she said yes come now. I get there and she said she's rushed because she has an appointment in 15 minutes and that they can't offer the happy hour price to come back in 3 hours. I was disappointed because it was my first time there and most likely the last. Place was empty and still they didn't want to take the service. No matter where I move in the bay area (Cupertino, Palo Alto), I always make an appointment with Linda on my way to the city. I came in recently with my mom for a pedicure. Overall it was a good experience. It was clean and looked liked they sanitized their equipment. Good selection of colors and up-to-date magazines. The leg massage could have been better though. However the lady was very nice and was trying to do a good job especially with painting my nails. I've been here twice, once for a facial and once for a mani/pedi. I got the standard plain vanilla facial which was was nice and relaxing until the extractions. Having been a long distance runner and still a runner today, I can withstand all kinds of pain, but the comedone extractions were so painful, my eyes were tearing up. My mani/pedi was very good too. Steady hands clipped my nails to the exact perfect length. I had several cuts on my hands and even without saying anything, she instinctively knew where they were and avoided hurting them. I've been a loyal customer since 2008. Linda is the only esthetician that I trust doing my brows. I've had great experiences with her in the past. She does an amazing job with eyebrows but ever since they let go of the young lady who manages the front desk, their customer service has gone down significantly. My last 2 experiences have been terrible due to that man and I haven't been back since. He lacks common courtesy, is extremely unprofessional and RUDE AS H E L L! Several months ago, I called to make an appointment with Linda. I typically go see her after work as I live in El Cerrito and work in San Francisco so it's the only time I can really make the trip to San Bruno. I explained my situation to him and how the week nights (after 5:30) are the only times I can make it. We went back and forth about availabilities before he rudely demanded me to take a flight from OAK to SFO to make it to an upcoming appointment. I was shocked to hear his sarcasm and wasn't sure how to respond and ended up hanging up. My last experience is what prompted me to stop going to Image Perfection altogether. I arrived early for my appointment and acknowledge that I didn't mind waiting till my appointment time if Linda couldn't accommodate me. After about 10 mins of waiting, the front desk guy told me that Linda could take me. He put me in the back room and as he was walking away, I can hear him talking shit in Cantonese. Now remind you, I have been a loyal customer since 2008 and through the course of my time there, I've had many personal conversations with Linda. Linda is very aware that I speak Cantonese so I was shocked to hear her engaging in the shit talking with that man. I was extremely upset but desperately needed my brows done for an upcoming work event so I bit my tongue and stayed for my service. I was extremely disappointed in Linda. Up until this point, she was always professional and seemed genuine when conversing with me about my personal life. Her quality of work is the reason why I continued going to Image Perfection even after I moved to El Cerrito. I was willing to commute over an hour just to get my brows done because of her. Needless to say, I will not return to Image Perfection after these experiences. Time to find a new esthetician. read more
