Halo halo is a Filipino shaved iced dessert. Other southeast Asian countries and beyond (cendol, bingsu and falooda to name just a few) seem to have their own versions. Ima's Kusina has the best version of halo halo in Seafood City's food court. Love their ice. It shaved super fine into a huge mound. Other places don't have ice so fine and it definitely affects the eating experience of finished dessert negatively. Ima's also has the best garnishes. They almost have the perfect mix of toppings. Theirs includes red and green gelatin, shredded fresh coconut, nata de coco (aka coconut jelly), sweet jackfruit, real ube, puffed rice and ube ice cream. Missed the sweet red beans, kaong (aka sugar palm fruit) and leche flan. They added the evaporated milk but seemed to skip the condensed milk. Frankly didn't miss it. Everything else was sweet enough. Today's weather was overcast, cold and windy but the cold dessert was so good. Can't wait to get it when the weather heats up. My favorites: pansit bihon, relyenong bangus (milkfish) and their halo-halo. Some food are salty for me.

The lechon belly skin was unfortunately very hard. The rellenong bangus was disappointing it did not taste like bangus at all- it lacked a fish flavor it tasted more like flour or cornstarch. I do not recommend... cost $40 each. Not worth it! read more

The big negative factor is the unprofessional behaviors to local door dashers. 2/3 of my orders were out of stock and all they can tell the door dash driver is "it's cancelled" with no explanations. I recently tried Ima's for the first time, and the food was amazing. My husband was craving suman, and I saw that Ima's Kusina had it, so I picked some up. While I was there, I also got biko, lumpiang gulay, lechon kawali, and pancit malabon. They also sell lechon belly, okoy, and tortang talong but I had to hold back. The lumpiang gulay with meat was delicious and huge, with a crispy lumpia wrapper and well-seasoned filling. Perfect with garlic sili vinegar! The lechon kawali was perfectly crispy and tasty, especially when dipped in Andok's lechon sauce. The pancit malabon, although a bit salty, was full of flavor ( tinapa taste). The biko and suman sa lihiya which came with latik syrup were both excellent. Although Ima's Kitchen food is a bit pricey, the taste and quality make it worth it. We're planning to go back next week to try their lechon belly and okoy, and my husband loved the suman so much that we'll definitely be ordering those again. As for the biko, Valerios sell them cheaper. Overall, Highly recommend! Service is quick, its like a turo-turo. Ambiance is alright, it's a food court so don't expect much. They all looked super good. I got Ube puto, which was delicious and I would certainly get that again. But I also got another dessert called kalamay (a sticky sweet dessert made of coconut milk, brown sugar, and ground glutinous rice) but it was tough :( but it was better when microwaved though. The grossest desserts here. I bought bibinka here and it was moldy and furry. I would avoid at all costs.

I am partial to cassava cake, even the not so great ones. BUT these cassava cakes were moist and given it's made with condensed milk, it was not that sweet. I also got the puto/kutsinta platter. This was my first time trying puto and it wasn't bad, but just not special. The kutsinta was pretty good too. They also have savory dishes but I didn't get any, some looked promising. I don't know what all of the negative reviews are all about, my experience at Ima's was great! So for Easter Sunday the family wanted a small tray for lumpia Shanghai and turon. Since we hadn't tried the lumpia and turon from Ima's before we visited Ima's a few days before Easter to give it a try. I told the worker who I think may be the owner that we wanted to order 50pieces of lumpia but haven't tried it so he was soo kind to take one out of the freezer and fry it for us to try. We ordered other random things while we waited. When it came the family liked it and so we put in the order. The lumpia and turon turned out great. Got rave reviews from the family!
