Currently the best place for Filipino food in the area, and may be the only one I'd recommend! Not much to note on service & ambiance since it's a to-go for pick up only spot. But the food.. Unfortunately I was sadden to know this place isn't a restaurant that has any seating available it's an order for pickup only. So be prepared to have a long wait line. I was really looking forward to having the adobo fried rice omelette. At least you know your getting fresh food. We decided to try this place since we were playing at a football tournament but because it was pickup only we ended up only getting dessert here to go. Solid Filipino spot! My family is usually hella picky when it comes to Filipino food but this place has yet to disappoint! My mom even requests it when she doesn't feel like cooking, specifically for the adobo omelette plate (like Hawaii)! I was curious about this place since it's near my work and I LOVE ube. However, after trying a handful of the treats here, I thought this place was just O.K with the ube flavored items. I didn't try the savory foods so this review is only for the ube treats I tried. I ordered the Ube Horchata, the ube cheesecake, and ube cookies. The ube horchata was a little strange tasting to me - it didn't taste very sweet and it also didn't really taste like ube? I wasn't sure what I was expecting. I thought the ube cheesecake was also EXTREMELY dense. It was actually a little tough to eat with how dense it was. The ube cookies were probably my favorite treat that I ordered out of the 3 items, but they were just okay! Overall, I thought the ube flavor in these treats wasn't very strong at all. It actually seemed a little bland. I would eventually want to try other treats from this place. Everything is also ordered to-go. You order at a window and wait for your food to be ready. The sisig (spicy) was delicious. The calamansi juice stands out with the peppers adding a good punch. The meat chunks are well prepared grilled, less crispy than other meat choices but still well done! Ube sweet crème cold brew has me wired. It was better than your average sweet crème from Starbucks because of ube's mellow and nutty flavor. We drove from Woodland to Pittsburg to try this place today and it was everything I thought it would be! I pre ordered random items online so that we could try a fair amount of goodies. Such a great find on our way back from a wedding in Brentwood! To-go/pick up kind of restaurant. Order ahead though, because they only had online order pick up available when we went, so we had to wait a while for our order. But there's an anime store a couple doors down to browse and check out while you wait for your order. We enjoyed all the food we ordered. It is filipino food, so the tocilog and binagoongan were fairly oily. We loved the eggs on the silog, it's been a while we had perfectly cooked sunny side up eggs when eating out. The rice on the silog was also seasoned well that it compliments both the egg and corned beef nicely. Our favorite out of all the things we ordered was the katsu spam masubi! That breaded spam elevates it and makes it that much more remarkable than a regular spam masubi. Ube bars were great! Ube cookies were pretty salty, but still finished the box! Never judge a book by its cover. I pass by this hole in a wall a few time but never gave it a second glance. This morning, my blanket robber showed me this place on her phone. The photos of food in boxes didn't do this place justice. I ordered a bunch of food, brought it to my place, took it out of their sad little brown boxes and placed it properly on plates. So a co-worker gave me an Ube Flan from Alda's a few weeks ago and was just super impressed that wife and I decided to check them out. This is a to-go only place, menu is limited and they seem to focus more on their 'Ube Area' treats, which are creative ways of re-doing traditional filipino ube sweets/snacks! We just had lunch so we really only wanted some Halo-Halos for dessert. Noticed that they have adobo fried rice wrapped in egg ala Elena's, one of our favorite spots in Oahu. So yeah I had to order that one. So first the Halo-Halo, it's great. All the essentials are there - ube, bananas, pinipig etc. As for the adobo omelet, I ordered the one that came with lechon pork belly. Also I had to ask them whether they heard about Elena's and they confirmed that they took inspiration from there, that they love visiting the island as well! Well I gotta say, I like their adobo fried rice better than Elena's. Delicious! Theirs is not really wrapped in egg omelet-style, its more of an egg topping. But who cares, the taste is on point! The pork belly is also delicious, freshly prepared and skin is crispy. A little on the tough side but thats par for the course. I just wish they have dine-options. There were so many positive reviews, I just had to try it. They mean serious business. There is a whole menu in front of their store dedicated to only ube desserts - from ube bibingka to ube brownie bars (you also have the choice of ordering the corners!) I must mention you have to hurry when you order this because they sell out of some items by afternoon. They also have a menu with traditional filipino food items with a modernized twist. This is a family-owned business and Irene and her family are so chill and sweet and you always feel welcomed there! They are such a passionate family and they loves what they does - and quite good at it too! Anything you get here will never disappoint your tastebuds - I guarantee it! I've ordered the sisig plate, lechon omelette, ube brownie bars, and ube leche flan, the matcha ube cheesecake. There were so many delicious flavors coming from the dish, it is so authentic! They were all so mouthwatering. The desserts aren't too sweet and the food is absolutely delicious. My favorite is their ube brownies since it had delicious caramel notes to it which made it even more delicious! The flan was so silky and smooth and the ube under it was divine. Musubis: 5 stars for the slightly spicy corned beef one. So so good. Adobo omurice: PERFECT. The egg isn't outstanding in any way, but the adobo rice yeeeessss. Found Alda's via Yelp, looking for a Filipino bakery in the area for a special occasion. Ordered several ube desserts to try. My family loved the ube mochi donut, which tasted more like ube mochi butter cake. It was so good, the ube flavor was front and center! Many other bakeries just slap "ube" on purple colored desserts thinking most can't tell the difference. We also tried the Ube cannoli and cheesecake.
