Bartender Shawniece was friendly and super quick with service. We stopped in for drinks and wanted to check First Friday offerings. On the first Friday of each month (not sure how long they've been doing it or when it will stop but we came the first Friday of May ), they host local artists and business owners selling their products and services. It was really cool getting to walk around, browse the booths, and talk with the creators themselves. I think it's a great event that helps showcase local talent and small businesses. The setup extends downstairs in a ducked off room by the main bar and upstairs as well. The only downside is that it gets extremely busy and crowded since the business is still fully open during the event. I have been here twice. The first time I came with some friends and we had got food and drinks. I had just chicken wings which I will say I wasn't satisfied with the taste of the wings. The wings did not set right with my stomach a few hours after eating them. The drinks were good. They have a bunch of pool tables in this bar upstairs. The 2nd time I went there it was about 30 min until they were about to close. They had allowed my friends to get a pool table since you have to get the balls from downstairs by giving them an id. The pool rental was free. The prices are very reasonable and it's a chill environment. read more

Always love going to Imbibe for pizza, krinkle cut fries, and drinks. Last night however was different. Food was great, but the drinks ehhhhh! Walked in and put our food order in. I got an old fashioned and asked for a lemon drop martini for my wife. Was told they don't do martinis and my old fashioned was terrible. My wife and her friend have had many lemon drop martinis and side cars from here before. They also have the lemon drop martinis on their menu so that confused me. Later another bartender waked in and my wife wanted another drink. She went up to the bar and that bartender made her the lemon drop martini so just overall weird. This place is always a good time. The chicken wings are really good! I also enjoy the drink specials! We got higher shelf liquor fairly inexpensive. My husband loved the option to play pool. Shocked I haven't reviewed this place until now. I first visited Imbibe around 2010. My friend Tom brought me there because I couldn't find a place in town to make a good Sidecar. This is back when the side room on the left was open. Needless to say, they're one of three places in town that made a great Sidecar and still do. (The Ball and Biscuit, and the Brass Ring Are the other two). Everything is reasonably priced here, and there's nothing pretentious. I'd give these people your money. The game room upstairs is free and a great addition but I tend to stay downstairs for the drinks. read more

We happened upon this place after eating dinner at upland fountain square, we really didn't know what to expect and were trying to go to another place down the road but my friend said hey let's check this place out. We walked in and got some drinks, and staring chatting with the bar tender, she asked if we were there to play games, confused we asked what she meant, and she then explained that you could play games upstairs and rent buy the hour. Since it had been forever since we had been out we decided to play darts upstairs, we were able to space out and play some rounds of darts. There are also pool tables , pinball and ski ball tables to use as well. The view of fountain square is amazing and it's a nice option since there are not too many sports games to watch just yet. Came to Imbibe as we do usually. Stacy, John and Eric are working. They've changed their food quality for the better. Pizza is by far the best in Indy. They changed the dough and mozzarella. Fresh. Full of flavour and delicious. There was such an amazing punch of fresh. Great value for the $$ Staff was beyond responsive. They got packed and we waited no more then 2 minutes for a beverage. Not only that but everyone had a great attitude. Felt like we were more family than a patron. Stacy made sure we got what we wanted with no wait. John through out some great jokes. Eric made sure we had a great time. We love the non-corporate feeling. But For a staple of FS they never let us down. With new owners this establishment has only gotten better. First time here for a friends party this past weekend. When it came time to leave the bartender told me my card on file was declined and asked for another form of payment. I preceded to pay cash and leave. Come to find out the next morning, the $50 tab is also pending on my debit card that I originally tried to pay with. Not only this, my friend who I was with (left after me) and the bartender told her I hadn't paid, and she proceeded to also pay this $50 tab. So I paid cash for my tab, have a pending Charge for the tab on my debit card, and the bartender had someone else pay my "unpaid" tab as well. Absolutely will never be back here. Absolutely ridiculous to be charged 3 times for a bar tab. I was told this place was sketchy but I didn't expect to be f*cked like that. read more

What a fun place, we found it after attempting to go into the speakeasy (a hard task if you don't buy real estate there early) We we're so happy we found this game bar. It's two stories, has a fun dive bar feel, the upstairs has so much space and so much room to spread out. Multiple pool tables, dart boards, shuffle boards, ping pong tables and pinball machines! This hidden gem was the perfect place to celebrate my friends birthday! It's rare that I can go into a bar and ask for a hot toddy and they make it...but she did!!! This was perfect for me since I was under the weather but still wanted to celebrate with my friends. Walk up a narrow staircase and you are in the game room. Multiple ping pong and pool tables. Darts, foosball, and other games occupy the space. They also have plenty of seating and good music! Only drawback was the fact there was no bar upstairs. So walking up and down the staircase for drinks can be a bit much. I will def return. read more

Imbibe is great. You have liquor and beer and honeys in sun dresses. The only thing I have to knock off a star for is the lack of balconies. I say balconies plural because I believe the building is naked without some black metal jutting out from each floor with a bunch of debauched drinkers hanging off the rails. This place has GREAT potential. You walk in and feel like you have been transported in time. We ventured upstairs to the Game Room where they have ping pong, pool, darts, shuffle board, and more space to just chill and decided to stick around and order a couple drinks and play some games. We were super disappointed to find out that you had to pay by the hour ($10/hr) to play the games. They pro-rate so if you go into the next hour, you aren't stuck paying for the remaining hour, but I have never been to a bar with games that charge me to play when I'm drinking there. Lost major points here. If you're a serious gamer, I would suggest bringing your own equipment. The darts were wonky and didn't throw right. The shuffle board was impossible (which can't really be fixed with your own equipment.) The bartender was great as long as her attention was on you. If it wasn't you had to wait until she was done with whoever she was paying attention to at the moment and that was rarely quick. When we were done playing and wanted to cash out, I am pretty sure we stood there for ten minutes, which I am sure we were charged for. Some other patrons said they had amazing wings. We might go back if we're in the neighborhood, but I doubt we'll play any games. read more

I'm sorry, but what drunk son of a bitch (are we allowed to swear on Yelp?) planned the streets of Indianapolis? ...Two driving-the-wrong-way-on-a-one-way's later, Brian at Imbibe was taking good care of my sister and I. Fantastic Singapore Sling and Sidecar cocktails eased our stresses and the Beatles (playing at a reasonable volume) calmed our frayed nerves. My favorite part about Imbibe was the ambiance: the place seemed to be straight out of the early 60s. And I don't mean a modern bar trying to do a 1960s look-I mean it's like the place hasn't been touched in 50 years. Small, not flashy, but super cool. My only minor gripe is that these old-school standard (albeit perfectly made) cocktails had the same price-point as the creations at all those trendy mixology bars you'll find sprinkled around up-and-coming Chicago 'hoods. Are the drinks in Chi cheap and I'm just spoiled? Either way, I think I may have been under the false assumption that Indy nightlife would be much cheaper than Chicago's... But I digress. We sat at the bar and waited to be served.. the owner even came downstairs and greeted everyone except us, he offered people balls to play some type of game as soon as they walked in the bar. It was as if we were invisible. We were a very quite group compared to everyone else.. the bar tender made eye contact with us about six times and still said nothing to us, very rude. Not even a "I'll be with you in a moment" or anything. I don't want to say this place is racist or prejudice but it sure did feel like it. 25 minutes of waited and never served, never greeted, never spoken to by employees.. Okay this place cracks me up. It reminds me of a summer camp rec room that was taken over by the cool hipster campers and is now a bar (I mean that in the best way). There is mismatched furniture everywhere and the top floor is HUGE. He was slow and acted like my group ordering was taking away from talking to his friends about the staff and taking shots. I think he tried to tell a joke but it came across like he was being shitty. Came here on a Friday afternoon, with a group of 8 after getting awful service down the street. The bartender was amazing and made some of the best coffee & liquor drinks ever. We were the only group here and we took over some of the couches and tables. The food was amazing, we ended up getting a bunch of the appetizers and they all tasted great. I want to say that I am slightly bias on my opinions of this place. First reason being it is a place the locals go and I live in fountain square. Even with that though, this place is the perfect spot to grab a drink and people watch. I always run into folks I know and love. The drinks are a great value and are made well. They have the food from the smokehouse right next door and they have a game room upstairs where you can chill to play games or not. You can sit and watch the fountain and all the movement outside.
