We order Imo's at least a couple of times a month. Our kids love the provel cheese. Imo's pizza (maybe St. Louis style pizza in general?) seems to be one that people either love or hate. For the haters, there are other options. They have salads, sandwiches, pastas, and appetizers. I enjoy the meatball sandwich, and my husband tried the chicken-bacon-ranch Crunchimo and seemed to like it. Provel is featured pretty heavily on the menu though. We ate in the restaurant this week and the staff were accommodating to our children, as usual- example, putting the cheese on the side in a separate dish. I'm a KC girl. We don't use provel cheese in our neck of the woods. When I first tired IMO's.... I was confused to say the least at the odd cheese. But over the last few years... the perfectly crispy crust, the squares (not slices) the abundance of toppings verses the thin crust (wow) is delicious. I don't know how the crust holds it all together. I also love their thin l layer of sauce instead of super gloppy and overwhelming scoops most pizzas joints put on their crust. I have ventured out to try their sandwiches, for the most part pretty good sandwiches for a pizza joint. Sometimes the beef is a little dry on the Italian beef. But still a nice sandwich. Their salads are HUGE and great! We don't ever forget to add one to our order. The service at this IMO's is Columbia is great. They always deliver in a timely manner and it's hot. read more

We get Imo's often. This time was bad. The pizza was cold, the bread bites tasted like old grease, even my brownie was "meh" Our visit wasn't good this time, but I should have mentioned the 30 other times that it was great. Things happen. I like Imos as quick up pizza when you ordered. I live in Waterloo and I was on way to blues game with my daughter. She called and ordered 14 inch pineapple and bacon pizza. I know people said pineapple don't belong in pizza but it's so good with melt provel cheese and pizza sauce. Love flat pizza crust not like Pizza Hut or Pizza John's pizza. It's popular for local area. So when I got there, pizza was ready to go and just right timing. Imos thank you for good pizza and perfect timing. read more

Never had a St Louis style pizza, and now I know why the very nice lady at the Columbia Illinois Imos smiled when I said "thin crust" please. The crust is like a cracker and that is EXACTLY how I like my pizza crust! The only thing I would have to say is their prices are on the steep side. Had a large (14") meat lovers. Added onions, mushrooms and black olives and my pizza was a $30 pizza. Tasted good but will be very reluctant to go back because of the price. read more

Other locations should take a cue from these folks on how to properly run an Imo's. Nice staff, Cherry Coke on the fountain, and perfect sit down dining space. The drive-thru pickup option is the cherry on top. read more

Very little taste assuming because it was burnt and all the sauce was either vaporized or just never there to begin with. Pretty crazy the lack of taste. Didnt think that was possible. Kinda reminds me a of a cheap jack's pizza. This is coming from someone who was starving and basically anything would taste good at this point. This is not imos pizza. It is an imposter. read more

I am SO disappointed in the chef salad I received tonight. While it basically cost me what a Special sandwich would, I was hard pressed to find the meat on it. Subway had closed at 7 pm or I would have gotten a chopped salad from them. I wouldn't have had to wonder where the meat was on it either. I have hit or miss experiences with sandwiches here too. I love a hot special, loaded with toppings and when it is actually CRUSTY so you can TELL it has been toasted but sometimes there is hardly any crunch to it. One time I will get a nice size sandwich, next time it will look like they were running short of bread. I guess live and learn. read more

Here we are 3 years later. We decided to try our local IMO's one more time. In the last couple months we ordered pizza 3 times. Every time the pizza came hot fresh with lots of toppings. And yes, when requested, the mushrooms are fresh. The delivery staff is always friendly and professional! So glad we gave them another try! read more

Pizza pretty decent not to shabby has its own flavor but $$$expensive$$$ it's pizza people. People can't feed family's breaking the bank for pizza. read more

Karen and Joe Perotta are what make this Imo's the best in the area. They always put the customer first and act like you're eating dinner in their kitchen. If u want a true Imo's pizza, this is the place to go. Just the right amount of sauce, cheese, and toppings. read more

This Imo's has gotten a lot better lately. We used to drive to Cahokia Imo's because their menu is bigger and prices are lower. Luckily Columbia now serves a lot of the same food (although still pricier than Cahokia location). Service is friendly but can be a bit slow when they're busy. The dine-experience would be a lot better if they would add some better beers (currently only Bud Light) and get some real silverware instead of the plastic stuff. read more

Horrible management. I ordered 24 wings for delivery from this location, which is less than 10 minutes away from my apartment. The delivery time is usually less than 40-50 minutes. Tonight, the food arrived after waiting over an hour. It was at room temperature and barely had any sauce on it. After my girlfriend and I started eating, she immediately brought to my attention that one of her wings tasted weird and had a bad smell. I ended up smelling it and sure enough, it had a sulphuric dog breathe smell. Which is unusual, as we eat Imo's wings pretty frequently. Well, shortly after this, my girlfriend was in the bathroom vomiting and I felt compelled to call up Imo's to voice the blatant concerns. When I called, I spoke with a manager named Karan. I have a background in customer service as a senior analysis at PayPal and so I know that being an abrasive jerk doesn't help in these situations. So being calm and composed, I tried voicing my complaint with Karan. I say "tried" as no matter how many times I tried to interject and explain the whole situation, I was cut off and had to listen to the Karan ranting about the wings prep process and how I should take it up with corporate. After several more minutes of this, I realized I wasn't getting anywhere with her and decided to end the call. I've now contacted Imo's through their website and on Twitter. I'm hoping that this can be rectified. I can honestly say that I won't be eating Imo's from this location any further :/ read more

Well the pizza was delivered pretty warm and looked pretty good. I don't like the provel cheese. Creamy crap. This pizza would be great with mozzarella cheese. If you've never had it I guess you need to try it yourself. You might like it. Not for me. read more

Very disappointed...paid $38.23 for two x-large two topping pizzas. There was very little cheese and skimpy on the toppings. Very dry and the crust was tough. Not at all what we expected. Unfortunately we will not be back. read more

The first time I ordered from this Imo's the woman who took my order was incredibly rude. She told me she was the owner at least 5 times and talked to me like I was an idiot. I didn't have a complaint just trying to order. After that I told my husband if he wants Imo's he'll have to call himself. The next time he did and my salad was made with old wilted lettuce. Won't be going back. This is the first time I have ever given a bad review on anything. I either leave good ones or keep my mouth shut. read more

The pizza is okay, but really over-priced. The bigger problem though is that the staff at this place in Columbia, IL are consistently rude. I've gone here several times, and keep thinking I'm catching someone on a bad day. Nope, they're consistently bad with customer service -- particularly some of the teenagers they have working there-- way too much attitude, like I'm bothering them by ordering something!
