If you're a St. Louis local you know that Cecil Whittaker's over IMO's. All. Day. If you're not a St. Louis local then let me sway you this way. CWs is a local staple and of course, known for their St. Louis style pizza. I've added a photo of it so you can get an idea of how thin it is, but it's on a paper thin crust, topped with sauce, a mix of all the best cheeses, and all the topping you could want. I highly recommend getting bacon because it comes in full strips on the pizza! You also can't go wrong with pepperoni and sausage which I've taken a pic of. Another St. Louis staple that is a MUST TRY are the toasted ravioli. In other parts of the United States these come cheese filled. Not in the Midwest though - these babies come filled with meat and dusted with Parmesan cheese. They also come with a meaty marinara side to dip in. These are St. Louis staples and you can't come here and not try them! I would order more pizza than you normally would as it being so thin it doesn't fill you up quite the same. We usually get our food to go but you can always eat in. They are a pretty standard pizzeria set up on the inside, nothing too fancy. read more

Entire top of pizza sliding around. No bond whatsoever between crust and toppings. Crust insufficiently baked. It's as if they simply waited for the cheese to melt and took it out of the oven. This is not the only pizza chain suffering from this issue. Mark CW as yet another franchise that will be getting no further money from me. It's getting hard to get good food in St. Louis, MO. Went out drinking the other night with a couple friends and enjoyed several drinks. Had a great time, but when I got home I was a little hungry. The BF had already eaten, so I was on my own. Lucky for me Cecil is only three blocks away, so I ordered a medium two toppings pizza. When I want a simple pizza, sausage and pepperoni are my go to toppings. They told me my order would be ready in 15 minutes, so I doodled for a few and then headed up to get my pizza. The staff is your typical pizza carry out staff. They're kind of hipster off the wall, but friendly. My pizza was just coming out of the oven as I arrived. By the time I paid, my pizza was sliced, in the box and ready to for the trip home. When your hungry, you can overlook the provel cheese. Actually, with the read sauce and my choice of toppings the provel complimented my pizza and satisfied my hunger. When I got home and the BF saw how good my pizza looked, there were instant hunger pains. I am actually glad I had someone to share the pizza with, otherwise I would have eaten the entire pie. Is there better STL style pizza in town? Sure...but not a lot. For the price, this is the best option out there. And--for what it's worth--this location knocks the socks off any Imo's I've ever had. I am amazed with this location's consistency. I've ordered from here countless times. Every single experience is nothing short of amazing. The pie is great, the sides are awesome, the staff is courteous...I can't recommend this Cecil's highly enough. If you're in the City and want to eat carry out STL pie, this is the place to go. We tried the cheese pizza and bosco sticks. The bosco sticks were very tasty. However, neither of of us enjoyed he pizza. The crust was not very crispy, it was more chewy than anything. Maybe if the pizza has been more fresh it would have been better. We didn't enjoy the cheese blend either though. read more

Um, not the best delivery pizza in town. It isn't even in my top three, but if you are looking for quick, cheap, and better than that garbage that Dominos should not even be identifying as pizza, this may just be the place you want to order from. The crust is a lot thicker than I generally like, but it's no Chicago style deep dish. It's a standard crust on a very ordinary pizza. The delivery is very quick, and I think this is a result of them not having the glut of customers that a place like Imo's has, and the pizza has always still been warm when it got to me, which is a feat considering how many cold pizzas I have had to heat up in the oven when they got to my door. They often have a ton of coupons available so it's not hard to feed your entire family on the cheap. When I think of this place, I can't help but think about something my friend Eric always says, sex is like pizza, even when it's bad, it's still pretty good. My first time having Cecil Whittaker's and I would say it is similar in style and Menu to Imos, but wins on value! I had their Cecil's salad with house dressing, it was so refreshing I ate it all to the very last leaf. I also had an order of their Toasted Ravioli and it left me with a smile on my face along with some marinara! The garlic cheese bread was okay, wish it had kept better on the drive home as the cheese had seized up as it cooled off. Now for the star of the show their Pizza. It is a typical St. Louis thin crust style pizza that I love so much, the one thing that makes this pizza stand out from the rest is the sauce. Sure, there's better pizza take out to be had...but you'd be hard pressed to find a place with the great deals, variety and consistency that this Cecil Whittakers offers. First, the pizza. It's pretty dang good St. Louis style pizza. I'm typically a straight up pepperoni fan, but I always get pepperoni and bacon here because the bacon is so thin and crispy. It's pretty much pig heaven. Second, I love the variety of their menu. Where do they put all of this stuff in that tiny building? They have far more appetizers than any other similar pizza joint in the area. Third, they are fast! For carryout, they always tell me 15 minutes and it's always ready in 15 minutes. Finally, cost. They always have some killer coupons. I think we ordered a large 2-topping pizza (that would have been $17 straight off the menu) and an appetizer (that would have been $7 off menu) for like $14.99 with a coupon. They always have a full page of them with all kinds of different options on their mailers, so hold on to them when you receive them or ask when you call to order. read more

Love the provel, love the frequent specials and coupons. Can't beat $5 larges on Tuesdays. I eat here multiple times whenever I visit St. Louis - even if the trip is only 2-3 days! Horrible customer service and they do not listen! I have ordered from them twice for the office to have delivered at lunch time. Both times now they delivered it right away at 10:30am when NO ONE is hungry! They cannot wrap their heads around someone calling in at 10am to have an order delivered at 11:30am. When I spoke to the delivery driver and I said, Hey...my order is early! I said 11:30! She just smiled and said "Yeah, I know". I called the store to complain and was told that the pizza that was delivered at 10:40 instead of 11:30 would still be hot at 11:30. Huh??? But after hearing about St. Louis style pizza and toasted ravioli we had to adjust our priorities. I got several recommendations but ultimately settled on Cecil's. Whole family LOVED IT. I am highly offended by their lack of description to indicate everything (including my cheese pizza) has meat (a few random pepperoni slices were present). I'm a vegetarian. I was on my way out of the STL but someone told me I have to try Cecil Whitaker's. I got a medium pizza for the road, thinking I'd save what I didn't eat for later. I got their "regular" (can't remember what it was called) but it was so good. No, I mean...it was unbelievable. My stomach started growling louder AS I was eating it and all I could think of was the next piece. Was actually kind of embarrassed at how quickly I demolished it. I'd finished the whole pizza before I was even out of the metro and almost turned around to get more. I generally prefer thick crust, but this was so good I didn't know what to do with myself. first I would like to say Cecil whittakers is just a knock off imos there prices are out of this world. They also finesse us out of money any way possible. There food is good with the exception of there bland dry burgers. They label there cups medium and large while really serving the small cups as medium and medium cups for large. Bosco sticks are 4.99 for 3 sticks outrageous they are good though! sad! ...... There portions are small they false advertise as well. On the menu it said homemade cookies, I called to order they said all they had were GIRL SCOUT COOKIES. Cecil's a rep off joint point blank period. I would never spend my money there personally to pricey. burgers and fries 8.99 PLUS TAX lol ! btw McDonalds taste better , white castle , burger king, jack in the box, hardees.
