    Half and half pizza
    Jack S.

Stopped by this place when I visited the Foundry. Such a cool place to try different local restaurants. This pizza joint was definitely one of the most popular places in the food hall. The pizza was delicious, and the staff even offered to do a half-and-half pizza to help my indecision. Definitely recommend trying!

Ordered the chicken, bacon, ranch pizza. It was good, if not a little too rich. Would have been better if ranch were on the side to dip instead of drizzled on top. The crust was very good and super light. Especially with it being piping hot. Oh, and pizza had dark chicken meat which is a huge plus to me :) Definitely a great pizza spot to visit inside of City Foundry.

Last week, I was craving pizza and wanted to go to any of those pizza spots at The Hill. However, my coworkers decided to go to The Foundry STL, leaving Fordo's as my only option. I'm really glad I was able to try this place because their pizza was so delicious. The crust was perfectly soft and chewy, and the flavors were all there. I ordered half pepperoni and half mushroom. PLEASE SEE THIS! If you're paying with a credit card, use the Kiosk to order your food. They had a sign for it, which I missed because I was too focused on the menu above. If you don't use the kiosk, they will tell you, but don't expect it to be done kindly. They might be frustrated by the amount of times they have to mention it to people, which I totally understood... but if that many people are missing it, maybe the sign should be placed somewhere more visible. I probably was more hangry and sensitive too so it rubbed me the wrong way... which is why I'm still keeping it five stars. Despite that ordering hiccup, I recommend their pizza. It's definitely better than some other local, high rated, romantic restaurants I've tried. Once you get brick oven pizza, other pizza's are just not the same. The pizza came out fairly quick, too.

I've never had a bad slice of pizza from Fordo's! It's one of my favorite places to get pizza in the St. Louis area. I'm obsessed with the four-cheese pizza drizzled with honey. You can even add prosciutto for an extra tasty treat. The service is always quick and the folks doing the hard work are always kind and caring and friendly. The employees are what helps the vibe be on point at this place! If you haven't tried this place before, add it to your list asap!

I was at the foundry and wanted to grab something to go, which is how I ended up at this place. I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon after the lunch rush, so it didn't take too long for my food to be ready. My choice on this initial visit was their special, harissa chicken, which was a very unique flavor and made for tasty leftovers. I don't know that I would make a special trip for the pizza, but if you're in the building for something else, it is a good option.

One of the best pizzas my fiancé and I have ever had. Got the sausage pizza with caramelized onion and peppers. SO. GOOD. Flavorful, awesome crust, nice size for 1. We shared it because we weren't super hungry, but if we were, we might have to get 2.. which would make it a bit pricey. Still, genuinely delicious wood fired pizza.

    Classic Margherita and Chicken BbQ.

Pleasantly surprised with two fantastic Neopolitan pies. Fantastic sour dough crust , great crunch, great char. St Louis has some serious Neopolitan action. Give them a try.

Half beef sausage half wild mushroom

Needed some pizza for the super bowl and been wanting to try Fordo's for ages Ordered online and got in and out super quick. Workers were polite and got me all taken care of. The pizza is awesome. Both pizzas were great, but the wild mushroom was particularly excellent. I have been on a mushroom kick recently. The mushrooms are packed with umami and the cheese pairing was perfect. A bit of salty, super creamy, mushrooms were sauteed to perfection. The crusts were amazing. Airy, crunchy, but super pillowy on the inside. The beef sausage was a really solid pie as well. Basically meatballs on a traditional red sauce. Wonderfully balanced and delicious!

Solid pizza! First time trying green olives on a pizza but I liked it. Service was quick and the industrial warehouse ambiance with EDM music playing in the background was fun. Overall a killer experience!

I really enjoyed Fordo's. The pizza was light and airy, and I loved the flavor of everything. The service is easy as they text you when your food is ready - this is nice since you can then walk around the food hall and get a drink or find a table while you wait. Loved: There were tons of toppings and the quality of all the toppings were so good. I especially love the addition of honey to the pizza - very good! Vibe: the Foundry has a ton of options to choose from and is a really great open atmosphere to enjoy with friends

Huge wood fire oven putting off the smell of fresh baked pizza.

Enjoyed a Saturday lunch date at the City Foundry in StL and the smell of the wood fire pizza oven was calling my name. Ordered the margherita pizza which was delicious. Although the Foundry was busy, Fordo's service was quick. The pie maker even put on a show with spinning and tossing the dough above his head.

Half wild mushroom half pepperoni ; vegan cheese

I won't bury the lead here: really top ranking pizza. And I don't share this praise lightly. After having lived in Italy for four years and tasted a whole lotta pies, I'm pretty hard to please. Wowza! I'd eyed this pie a few times on previous trips to the foundry food hall m, but waited for my bday to pick one up to bring home. My husband and I opted to split one and try their vegan cheese. It didn't detract from the experience AT ALL! He got pepperoni; I opted for the wild mushroom. We were thrilled with the flavors and could hardly stop after a few bites in the car before exiting the parking lot garage. It was ready really fast too! Including tip it was $27 (incl the up-charge for the vegan cheese). Worth every delish bite!

There's a charming patio out front, if you want it. You can settle in for a long dinner, post up at the bar for the night, or grab a quick bite before heading out on the town. Bartenders are warm and approachable, and the in-house mixology is confident without any "we spent 30 hours perfecting this" pretense. The whole experience is like Sam Malone the bartender (save the drama) at Cheers: friendly, self-assured, the kind of place that makes you feel like you could spend all night there without anyone rushing you. We had a Paper Plane and an Old Fashioned -- the latter served over a custom ice cube stamped with a double ax (a nod to the wood fire). The cocktail list leans classic and reliable: if you know you like gin or vodka, you'll find something easy here. The espresso martini is the standout, it works as a dessert drink or any other time of the meal. We started with the Smorgasbord instead of our usual garlic knots (which are their own delicacy), and it didn't disappoint: toasted brioche with mascarpone and strawberry jam, several cured meats (capicola, prosciutto, pepperoni), parmesan, gouda, dried cherries, and chutney. My one nitpick; the pepperoni and gouda were tiny cubes, which makes them tough to grab cleanly compared to the sliced parmesan or rolled prosciutto. In this situation give the man a toothpick. The tallow-fried wings are, in my opinion, the best in St. Louis. The beef-tallow-and-potato-starch breading produces a tempura-like texture and crunch that keeps them light. Adventurous-but-classic sauces, bourbon butter BBQ, buffalo, and pineapple honey habanero (legitimately spicy; bring backup). The wings stand on their own without sauce. For pizza, we got the Napoli (tomato, fresh and smoked mozzarella, arugula, parmesan, black pepper, olive oil) -- her standing favorite. Expect proper Neapolitan: soft center, thin crust, charred crisp edge. Don't lift and bite fold it. (She insists: no fork. I use a fork - I know how dare I!) The pizza menu reads creative but never gimmicky; meat-lovers, vegetarians, vegans, and gluten-conscious diners all have real options. Before Kyle took over, Pizzeoli was known as a vegan-forward spot, and that flexibility lives on. We closed with the seasonal ice cream sandwich, fresh-pressed pizzelle wafers, crème brûlée ice cream, and a torched marshmallow cap. Excellent. A couple of practical notes: they're dinner-only (4-9:30) and the new reservation phone line is a robo call. Easier to use the online waitlist or book online directly. Pizzeoli is dressed-down-or-dressed-up friendly, kid-welcoming, and somehow works equally well for a pre-game stop or your dinner of the week. I've never had a bad dish here, and there are several I come back for specifically -- Lesley for the Napoli, me for the wings. 4.9 stars out of 5. If that toothpick shows up, a perfect 5. ;) Worth the trip across town, an hour drive for a long dinner, if it were open for lunch, the suggestion for two trips in one day would be welcomed or two-days in a row.

Parking is easy within a block or two. Outdoor, booth, and table seating is available. My husband had the gluten free pasta because it is also vegan, and no lie and true to form, it was delightful and light! The tomato sauce is Perfection: not too acidic, not too sweet, letting the grand yet humble tomato shine. I chose the puttanesca, one of my favorite traditional Italian pastas. I would order this again!! Had plenty for lunch the next day. Not to be left out: the toasted ravs and cannoli. I've had a few T-ravs since moving to StL, and these are excellent. The tomato sauce for dipping, once again, is a real treat. The cannolis? Precious, flaky, and dreamy. I ate one at our table and took the second bad boy home. FIRE.

While traveling through Missouri, my wife and I were looking for a place to have dinner. I searched…read moreYelp and came across Anthonino's. I also remembered seeing it featured on the Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, so we figured it had to be worth a try. When we arrived, we were asked if we had a reservation. We didn't, but noticed a few open seats at the bar and asked if we could sit there instead. The two bartenders welcomed us right away and told us they would take good care of us throughout the evening. My wife ordered an iced tea, and I started with an Old Fashioned. For an appetizer, we ordered the Toasted Ravioli ($14), which is handmade in-house and filled with ground beef, ricotta, and pecorino romano cheese, served with marinara sauce. It's one of the dishes featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. For dinner, my wife ordered the Chicken Marsala ($23), and I went with the Bolognese ($17), made with veal, pork, red wine gravy, cresta di gallo pasta, stracciatella, and Calabrian chili oil. The toasted ravioli arrived looking great. I tried one without the sauce first. The fresh pasta didn't fry up quite the way I expected. It was more flaky than crispy, and I was hoping for a little more crunch. The filling was decent but could have used a bit more seasoning and flavor. The marinara sauce also had a bitterness to it that wasn't my favorite. When our entrées arrived, both dishes looked and smelled wonderful. Unfortunately, the flavors didn't quite live up to the presentation. My wife's Chicken Marsala had good flavor overall, but the side pasta was very gummy, and the sauce again had a bitter note that seemed to overpower the dish. My Bolognese was the biggest disappointment of the evening. When I think of Bolognese or a rich meat ragù, I usually expect a wider pasta such as pappardelle. The cresta di gallo pasta wasn't my favorite choice for the dish, and it also had a gummy texture. The sauce itself suffered from the same bitterness that we noticed throughout the meal. Looking back, I probably should have ordered the Carbonara once I realized the Bolognese wasn't being served with the type of pasta I was hoping for. Overall, the meal was okay, but it didn't quite meet the expectations we had after seeing the restaurant featured on television and reading the reviews. The service was excellent, and the bartenders did a fantastic job taking care of us. While this visit was a bit disappointing, there were plenty of other dishes on the menu that looked great, and I would be willing to give Anthonino's another try and order something different.
