He refused to just slap a capacitor on to prove if I was right or not and said a sales rep will be back Tuesday. It was a nightmare (no heat in our house when it dropped to 30 overnight). Had a wonderful friend recommend Classic so we called them and they came this morning. Instantly said "yup it's your capacitor, let me slap one on and make sure it didn't hurt your motor too". I immediately knew this was the kind of company that wouldn't BS or swindle me. To top it off, after 12 years of being a Classic customer, their new computer system cannot seem to remember my address, and the techs who show up (once I correct the address every time) have no info about my system. Now they are spamming my phone with stuff about plumbing, electrical work etc. The techs working there are still good, this is not on them.

Recently moved to Dallas from the Midwest in the last 6 months, in laws in town, and first child born a few days prior to the HVAC going out. I was charged over $800 for "Run Capacitor, Start Circuit and Blower capacitor" which was less than $100 in material and an hour of work and did not resolve issue. For the non technical folks this is equivalent to changing the batteries on your remote control for your TV that doesn't turn on. Once I called around other licensed businesses quoted $250 for the same work. The kicker of it all is I called them The next morning informing them the issue persisted, and was charged $67 for the team to come out and confirm what I said over the phone was correct. They quoted $4K for a rebuild, $12K for a new unit, and $1.5K to replace the seized motor I purchased the a motor online and installed It for less than $200 and 2 hours of work. The quotes from the other contractors were around $500 for the same work. Long story short. Please avoid this business like the plague, get multiple quotes, ask your neighbor and work colleagues on who they use and don't blindly trust highly reviewed businesses on yelp/google. Good luck

They did say we could 'try to get on the list' if we called Saturday morning. Otherwise we could make an appointment for 5/21. I called to talk to Tiffany (owner) this morning and was told she was not in today. I asked to have her call me as soon as possible. I was then told she did not work there anymore. Our 3.5 ton A/C upstairs unit stopped working suddenly…read more With the temperature having been over 100* for the past two weeks our A/C had to work. Otherwise, my kids couldn't sleep or be upstairs at the indoor temps were 90*+ and my wife's office also upstairs was also unable to be used, causing extra grief from her employer. My neighbor Ron recommended Hayward Air. John Hayward replied to my text promptly and arrived the next morning at 10:00. He found the capacitor on the upstairs unit was blown and within 10 minutes it was repaired and blowing cold air!! This was yesterday and I am still waiting for responses to my initial calls to 5 other local A/C companies. Quick response, knowledgeable with integrity and ethical and he didn't try to sell me a quick fix of Freon or tell me the only solution was to replace my 3.5 ton unit (and preemptively replace the 5 ton unit) John is a pro and I would HIGHLY recommend him to all that need A/C repair. When I replace both units this winter he will be my first call. Great job John.
