I'm am thrilled to finally have a decent Indian buffet open semi close to me. I had to drive thirty minutes to get there, but totally worth it! The restaurant is clean and well designed. The buffet dishes are beautiful. I love that they are covered and the lid holder right over them is such a great idea! The food stays warm and doesn't dry out or stay exposed. Great idea and so beautiful! The food was wonderful as well, great tasting and a large assortment of dishes to choose from. We went on a weekday and there were several vegetarian and chicken options. Naan and chicken tandoori were brought to the table by the very attentive waitstaff. They were super friendly and very accommodating. We just moved nearby and like the food here a lot. We also found most of the staff very friendly.

Overall bad experience. Appetizers in the buffet were cold, and we asked for several times and they finally warmed them. For Nans, they had a policy written to order on the table, later we were told that the policy does not apply for Valentine's Day (why not remove the notice then?). After standing waiting for naan for 10 mins, they told us that it will be delivered to the table. But guess what - it wasn't for another 10 mins. By this time we had lost the appetite. For the cheque, they added a charge for 3 year old kid for the buffet. When my wife clarified the age policy, they said it was 4 and above and finally removed it. Finally, by this time, I wasn't sure if the gratuity even applies for the horrible service that we received and that too for the buffet, to this the lady at the counter said that you need to pay gratuity because it's a large family (had 2 kids with one sleeping through the lunch lunch and 4 adults). I usually do not rate any place 1 star, but they service ruined my food experience with the family on Valentine's Day. read more

I ordered the cauliflower and it was too spicy. My friend ordered a chicken dish that was too spicy too and she ordered it "not hot". The service was very fast and servers were super friendly! I have only had Indian a hand full of times and this experience blown me away. I parked outside this place wondering if it was even open. There weren't any other cars in the lot. OK, it was a Thursday night-but at 6-ish there should be SOMEBODY in a restaurant. I went in--the place was empty. Uh-oh. I was warmly greeted and sat. The maître d' was also my waiter. He asked if I was familiar with Indian cuisine, and I replied I was an enthusiastic aficionado. As is my wont, when I'm in a new place, sometimes I ask the waiter to have the chef show off and provide me a meal to show what their place is about. The fellow didn't blink at that request, then asked if spicy was ok, and he was a bit taken aback (in a good way) when I said "Indian Spicy!". I also asked for some Papads, and at that point he said "Ah! you DO know Indian cuisine!". For starters, He sent out "Crispy Honey Chili Potatoes" which were actually garden-variety french fries, but with a killer sauce/glaze. My first thought was to call "bullshit". Then I tasted them. I'm not a french-fry denizen. The onliest place I glom them up is Henry's Hot Dogs, and only if they are steaming fresh. (I eat them with too much salt and no ketchup). The "Crispy Honeys" here were totally fab, to my utter astonishment. I scarfed them down. The kitchen had my attention. The Papads were out, too, with 2 great chutneys For entree, He sent the Lamb Laas Maas which was a spicy Lamb Curry, listed as a Chef's Specialty. It was really tasty, hot (in flavor), and perfect with the fragrant Basmati arriving with it. 3 for 3. He suggested Gulab Jamun for dessert, and it appeared not in the usual bath of Rosewater syrup, but in a pool of Rabdi cream. Rabdi is Indian condensed milk. Gulab Jamun has been an evergreen in every Indian resto I've frequented, everywhere; and there have been a few. Nearly identical at all of them. This place had the guts to stray from the norm, and I gotta tell ya--It was delicious. Especially with the fine Masala tea accompanying it. The owner, a nice Indian Lady was on premises and visited my table for the flash review--I was very very pleased--she was happy. It was a bit sad, 'cos I was the single patron for the entire night. My wife and I tried out this new restaurant tonight. I am happy to see an Indian restaurant in Plainfield , but I am thankful it is this restaurant. The food is wonderful. We started with a sweet and spicy potato dish. I thought it was great, but it was made for American pallets and inspired by indo-Chinese food. Once I ate the rest, I still thought it was good, but they have so much more to offer. We had some lamb chops, buttered chicken and garlic naan. All of they were great, I just got done eating left overs. The price points and amount of food was perfect. I am newer to Indian food, so I will be going to check out the buffet to try more things and find my favorites. Please, let's support this restaurant and get more choices for food in Plainfield.
