An amazing, make from scratch, Indian restaurant with longer than expected wait time. Read the reviews; everyone who dines here raves about the food. Everything my family and I have ordered is flavorful, filling, and have leftovers. The staff is polite, kind, and helpful. If you want an authentic, you've stumbled upon the right venue. I understand Yelper Christopher O's comment about the high prices (especially the naan; I'd argue should be complementary). Sounds like lunch orders do include some accoutrement; maybe I'll try 'em next time. I identify with Yelper Jeremy S's passion for spice and heat! Similar to a Thai restaurant, you can customize the heat level of many dishes, although I'd argue a standard order is pretty soft on heat. The only side I am mixed about is the paratha. I've been raised on the frozen, supermarket style you toast in a pan and serve. Do not expect the flaky, buttery flatbread with a bit of a toasted crunch. *I DO recognize this is not traditional (I did say 'supermarket' after all), so take my opinion lightly. I WANT to give Shree 5 stars and would on the food alone. After three visits--and myriad excuses why our food was so slow each time--the belated turn around from order to eating is *not* a fluke. Our worst experience was Valentines Day 2025--clocked in at :75 from order to the first dish (an appetizer). I know good food takes time...but my wife suggested next time we order ahead or get takeout. Then again, I've seen patrons at peak meal times sit at the bar for :15+ past takeout delivery time. read more

Walked in to order to go from Shree Indian Cuisine. Wanted to try this joint based off the reviews here. Got chicken tiki masala. So good. I was going to order the spinach chat. Haven't had it so I wasn't sure entirely sure what it was. Was told it doesn't travel well and will be soggy when I get home. Really appreciate that tip. Most places wouldn't care. Got garlic naan instead. They just got their liquor license so I was the first person to have a drink there while I waited for my food Cute space. Very small and parking is terrible. The mango pineapple shrimp dish here is incredible--a must-try! It's super tasty and brings that perfect summer vibe, no matter the season. The Fish Jalfrezi and goat vindaloo are also fantastic. You can customize the spice level for your dish; I went with extra spicy on the fish, and it was the kind of heat that knocks your socks off but is still manageable. This is the first time my wife and I have been here. I was so excited when I saw this area had a new Indiana restraunt and I was not disappointed! This place is a 10/10! We got the chicken pakora for an appetizer, and both the sauces and the chicken were spot on. The chicken tikka masala and butter chicken were spiced perfectly! Couldn't have asked for a better meal! Ordered pickup on a day I was driving home from a long trip. Restaurant was very clean and they had my order ready. Everything I ordered was delicious. Naan was fluffy and the rice was seasoned perfectly. I should have placed a note in my order to pump the spice level up on my chicken, and I will do so next time. Regardless, very happy with my meal. I got Saag Paneer with garlic naan, my mom got (super extra mild) Butter Chicken also with garlic naan and a mango lassi. We were blown away with how tasty everything was! The lamb curry came with several other sides like rice, garlic naan, chickpea curry, some marinaded chicken (I don't the exact name), & I believe it was some form of rice pudding. We started with the coconut soup. While delicious, this is not worth $9. This is a $3 item; it may have been 10 oz of soup. Garlic Naan was $3.69 for two small pieces. Ridiculous. A whole loaf of bread is cheaper. Mango lassi was $6. For a 12 oz. drink. Insanity. The Tandoori mix grill was very good and served on a simmering iron skillet. It is not a $25 dish. It was seasoned well and the lamb portion was tender. Tandoori chicken tikka also very good. Not for $19 though. Overall, the flavors were great and the owner assured us that everything is freshly made, which I believe. After tax and tip this was a $100 lunch for two people. I doubt this will survive in Crest Hill. I wish them luck, but I can find equivalent Indian food for about 25% less. I'm sure the reply will be "then go somewhere else." Ok, I will. Just advising people, check the online menu prices before you go, you may get sticker shock at the bill otherwise. read more

If you're looking for authentic Indian cuisine, this is the place! After trying it the first time, I craved their food for the next week and a half. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala and it far exceeded my expectations. Both times that my husband and I have eaten here, the owner stopped by our table to ask how we enjoyed our meals, and to converse with us. Was excited to learn that an Indian restaurant just opened down the street from us, so we ordered out today. We loved the Samosa Aloo Tikka Chat, the Chana Masala, the Saag Chicken and Garlic Naan!! I am still new to the authentic Indian cuisine, and the kind owner's wife told me there were some differences between northern and southern Indian food. For a place that was a Latin restaurant and now is Indian that kept the same bar with the same decor on the wall and just put in new booths. Nothing says that it is an Indian restaurant, but the sign on windows. The food was okay. I had the buffet and the chicken for all of it was dry but lots of sauce in bowls. The place was empty but that's because it's hidden behind gas station on corner of street. Needs more advertising to notice it's there. read more

Spending almost $20 with tax for a meal with a cup of basmati rice that came with maybe 4 ounces of chicken is not exceptible.. The chicken was the breast and kind of dry... For this kind of money spent the chicken was minimul. Give some more chicken it is cheap. I bought there sampler platter previously before to give them a second chance and with an all bone lamb dish with very little lamb and 3 chunks of chicken and terrible nunn bread. Arrived on a Wednesday evening and the place was empty, it still took about 5 minutes for us to get seated. Once seated it took about another 10-15 minutes for them to take our order. It wasn't even like we could waive someone down either because the entire crew seemed to be in the back just talking. It took about another 20 minutes for us to get the food. The food was pretty good but at not point did someone come and check up on us and ask if we needed more water, wanted more food, etc. The service here was pretty awful and the waiting around while the crew was in the back talking was very annoying. Let me reiterate that there were no other customers in the restaurant. If you want to wait an unnecessarily long time to eat some decent Indian food then this is the spot for you. I'd recommend going elsewhere though as you can find the same quality food with better service. read more

We got the Butter Chicken and Paneer Tikki Masala. It was the most flavorful and delicious Indian food I've ever had ( and thats saying a lot because Indian food is my favorite ) I was so impressed with the food we ordered got a take home Chicken Korma! I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. The food is out of this world! We got the chicken korma and the butter chicken. The chicken was so tender, everything was flavorful...it was absolutely delicious. Both the garlic naan and the plain naan are so light and fluffy and tasty. Great portion sizes too. The place was packed when we walked in to pick up our order, and next time we're are planning to dine in.
