In less than 2 weeks I had an avian vet bill for $1,005.45 and a fatal prognosis. Thank god he was quarantined from my other birds, but the parakeet I also got from Love Bird on the same day and is also sick (but looks likely to make it) will have to be quarantined from them forever and never be able to join the aviary. How many birds in your store were exposed to this virus? How many of them are off in new homes spreading it? Wednesday afternoon, 4 families lost their homes due to roofers damaging a water pipe and flooding…read morethe building. The city came and condemned the entire building by Wednesday night and we all had to leave. One family has lost everything, the other 3 have lost their homes. While the roofing company and the HOA that hired them are trying to figure out who is responsible, 4 families are looking for a new place to live for the foreseeable future. No relief has come from the roofing company nor the HOA to assist with those efforts. However, I have to tell you all about the amazing people at Magic Pet in Baldwin Park who looked past how busy they already are during the Christmas season, and decided to help the people. As soon as our home was condemned, around 6:30PM Wednesday night, I walked to Magic Pet and told them what had happened and that we needed a place to take our 2 dogs and 2 cats. I told them I didn't know how long they would be there and we needed help. The owner looked at me and said, "Bring Them. Bring Them. We are busy, but we are a community and we are here to help our community. Bring them." I almost cried as one stress was immediately lifted with no questions - just compassion and a willingness to help. If you ever need boarding or grooming services for your pets, they have always treated our sweet pups well - and they are treating the humans well also. While the roofing company and HOA are trying to save as much money as possible and continue to hold someone else responsible for the immense damage, the wonderful owner of Magic Pet made room and DID something to help.

This is one of the few locations that carries Carna4 dog food that my dog is currently on. They did not require pre-payment of the food, which surprised me, they said they wanted to make sure that the quality was what it was supposed to be before they sold it to me. As a business owner myself that's a great, customer forward, policy (that puts the business owner at risk of people ordering food and then not paying for it and not picking it up.) They do offer delivery and their delivery area is quite wide. I live about 25 minutes away from this location and the owner had stated that they would still deliver to me. I chose to pick up because I I don't mind the car ride. The owner is quite knowledgeable and even offered some options if this current food does not work for my dog who seems to be allergic to just about everything on the face of the earth. This shop also has a money back guarantee, as long as you have the original packaging and it's at least half full of the food. (I personally would not do that because I just don't feel right. It's not their fault if my dog doesn't or does like food however it is a great policy which I'm sure some people do use.) I would definitely recommend the shop for your pet food needs.

A few days ago we found him almost lifeless, vomitting. This was happening before WOVH was open, and as VECOCF was about to close. I rushed him over anyway, and they took him right in and ran all kinds of tests. Long story short, they believe he ingested something toxic/poisonous along one of his walks. Once VECOCF got him somewhat stable, I transferred him to WOVH, which is his usual vet. I cannot thank Stephanie, Robert (Vet Techs) and Dr. Markwardt enough for their response. They are always caring, thorough, and best of all - they build relationships with the dog, so they know when he is/is not acting himself. I'm happy to report that Oswald is back home with us, safe and sound.

The wonderful people there completely understood that his long fluffy coat is a nessecesity to the breed and should not be cut or shaved. When I picked him up, he looked amazing - great mini-groom, nails looked good and his double dew claws were nice and short, sani-trim was the only cut. His coat was gleaming white.
