It took him over 6 weeks to do the work on the first bathroom. On the master bath, the same elderly man took over and took in inordinate amount of time to complete the work. We had to bring him back to finish b/c of the shoddy work he did. If we had not held back the last payment, I doubt that he would have returned. I did not notice until it was too late that the cabinets were not installed properly, but were installed over the crown molding. But what I am actually writing about is the master bathroom toilet which is on the 2nd floor. We noticed that there was a leak on the first floor. We hired somebody to look at it and thought it was coming from the roof. However, weeks later, the water poured down and we finally cut out the ceiling drywall and discovered that the water was coming from the master bath toilet where it sits on the floor. I hired my regular handyman to fix it and we discovered that toilet was never properly set on the floor and it was actually glued to the floor, so that when you tried to lift it, it broke the toilet. When I emailed Ballesteros for reimbursement of the repair costs, he told me that it was beyond the warranty time period. He said he would look into it b/c I told him that there is no statute of limitations for shoddy work and negligence. He has not returned my emails. If I could give them less than 1 star, I would.

They fixed, and significantly upgraded, a load-bearing wall that was terribly done before. They went over every detail so we got the design we wanted, with a great view of the living room. The electrician also identified some other issues and helped make the home safer. With a 2 year old and the little one on the way, I can't tell you how much it helps to have the peace of mind of a well-supported 2nd story and a potential electrical fire avoided. Also, a shout out to the drywall and painting teams. They were extremely courteous and considerate, especially considering we were ALL SICK WITH FEVERS that week! Yep, that was fun. Last point, regarding cost. Nader clearly made every effort to get this on budget and I appreciate that. We have used Home Masters Int'l twice now, and both experiences have been plagued by subpar craftsmanship and terrible customer service. * First Experience (5 Years Ago): We spent $135,000 cash on a full interior remodel with new electrical and plumbing over a 3-month period. While some aspects were fine, we quickly noticed major issues: cracks in the ceiling, badly hung cabinets and drawers, a crack in our new wood flooring, and numerous required touch-ups. I reached out shortly after completion, and again at 6 months. Both times, they promised to follow up and completely ghosted us. * Second Experience (Recent Bathroom Remodel): We decided to give them a second chance to redo our tub/shower combo because we heard they were under possibly new ownership. We again paid cash. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. We are facing the exact same issues: shoddy workmanship with no oversight and a total lack of communication.
