Horrible experience with this company!! I had to micro-manage everything! No one knew what they were supposed to be doing because they got pulled to my job last minute. The packers packed light in each box to increase the box count and charge more. Everyone I called to resolve numerous problems was "passing the buck." The WORST experience ever! They're quick to take your money and reluctant to resolve claims. Since Mayflower sub-contracts with various vendors throughout your move, everyone is quick to play the "not it" game when something goes awry. They moved me in late July, kept changing my delivery date and were still four days late delivering my items. They compensate you with $100 a day for each day late. Several items were broken and/or damaged during the move and I've been waiting since August for my claim to be settled. I emailed the representative several times for a status update only to be told the carrier has 120days to settle claims...but they want payment ASAP. Remember the "not it" game? Of course claims are subcontracted to some other company. Never using Mayflower again. Save yourself. read more

We were extremely please with the crew that moved us. They were very professional and polite. However very disappointed in the sales and customer service. When Mike quoted our move we were in the process of selling some items. He said to let him know what wasn't going before the move and he would adjust the quote. I emailed him twice with items we were no longer taking and never got a reply. They charged our credit card the day of the move. I contacted customer service and was told the paper work was in accounting and they would email the final bill. After 2 weeks I called again Stephanie told me she would contact them and get back to me. Another week went by with no return call. I called Stephanie again and she said she would contact them and call me back that afternoon. AGAIN no return call. I called the next day Stephanie said she would connect me. (Im assuming to accounting) I got a voicemail and left a message. Its been over a month since our move and I still trying to get a final bill. We told Mike at the time of the quote that this was a temporary move and if they did a good job we would use them again in 6 months.. You think they would have done a better job, as we are definitely not using them now. read more

Mike Loahner, and his company, were recommended to my husband and myself by someone my husband worked with. It was a local move, from our home in Hackberry Creek (Dallas, Texas) to another area, about six miles away. We loved our initial contact with Mike, as he was professional and kind. One of the biggest concerns I had however, was about our new washer and dryer. As the temporary home we were moving into also had a new washer and dryer, I asked Mike how he would recommend we store both, in order to avoid any mildew or damage. He assured me that he had a company who would come to the house, drain the washer and store both it and the dryer properly. As I was out of town for the move, and my husband was swamped, he didn't pay attention to how they drained the washer and moved it. When I got home from my trip, I noticed that the washer had not been packed and that there were some scratches on it! I also looked inside and saw that nothing had been drained or packed. As I am a teacher and needed to get our house in order before the beginning of school, I honestly forgot about the appliances. A few weeks ago, we decided to sell the washer and dryer, as having them sit in a garage did not make sense. When I opened the lid to the washer, the mildew smell was horrible. It took us over an hour to clean everything and to get it ready to sell. I also had to drop the price, as the entire right side was scratched and dented, which we didn't notice until we separated the two. We also had a broken picture frame, but that was it. With those two things, I seriously would have let this review go, but here's where the issue was/is... My husband and I contacted Mike directly six times, with either no response, or a promise to get the "claim forms" to us. After six tries, we finally got the forms. My husband filled them out (we were only asking that the washer be cleaned etc, as we had paid an extra $150 for that to be done) and for a large picture frame to be fixed. No big deal. To this day, and our move was in August, we have heard nothing about repairing the items. I reached out again to Mike two weeks ago, and got another promise that he "would look into what the status" of the claims was. No word since then. My husband and I are relocating to Oregon... (New job) From Dallas, this is a big move and I am sad to say that I will not be using this company. If our tiny claims, and promises to "find out what's going on," have not been worth their while, I can only imagine what they do with large claims. This should have been handled simply and quickly. IMS Relocation moved me a little over a week ago. The service was superb. Toni Santana and her crew packed my breakable items. Then Rafael Herrea and Rigo Reyes did a fabulous job loading and delivering my belongings. Nothing was broken or damaged, which was my major concern. We used IMS relocation for a local move. The entire process (from bid to unpacking) was professional and efficient. With all the stress involved in moving a whole home - the actual move was a breeze. The move was scheduled for one day and the time line promised was delivered. We did pack our own boxes but they moved all boxes and furniture and appliances without any issue, including breaking down and setting up bedrooms and kitchen. I hope to never have to move again but IF I do I would call them again! They were great. read more

Dishonest company. We were told our delivery would be from one location to another. They put our belongings in a storage unit without our consent. Items were damaged in storage and in transit and the company made no effort to reconcile the actual damage to property. I dealt with Mike Lohner and he made a great presentation of the services offered, and then completely failed to deliver. read more

I am very particular about how my belongings are handled and get nervous about moves. I take good care of my things so they will last a long time. It's frustrating when a company isn't as careful with your belongings as you are. I've never given a good review for a moving company until now. The crew I worked with was top notch. Not a scratch on a single item. It was a very long day, but the crew never slowed down and kept their sense of humor making the day easier for all of us. They protected our floors and home as well as our furniture. It was hard work during a hot summer day, but they did an amazing job. read more

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY, basically you are paying them to rob your house and break the few things that actually make it to your new location and then give you false information saying "take pictures of the damaged items and then discard them" then when the "claims adjuster" comes they will inform you that without the actual items no claim can be filed as well as the items that didn't make it when trying to take the matter further they basicaly said "prove it" and hang up it took over a year for them to finaly come up with a "final settlement" of $110 of the $5,000 claimed read more

We met with their representative Mike Lohner and discussed how we had some new and high priced items to move and store...he sold us that they are better than the others and we shouldn't have any damage...well we did and its been four months and we still haven't received a payment on our claim...I have emailed and called repeatedly to get it valued, filled out papers , and accepted their low offer and still they are telling us 30-45 days to send us payment. We found another damaged items and no response.... they are not what Mike Lohner sold us on in the least and have been an absolute nightmare to deal with....still waiting with broken furniture. read more

My husband & I have moved long distance 7 times and our recent move from Colleyville, TX to Sarasota, FL with Mayflower/IMS was the only bad experience we have had. The exception is that the drivers and the workers who came to both house were excellent. We have no complaints in that area of the move. However, the administration involved is the most unresponsive, uninformed, and unconcerned that I have ever witnessed. We received 3 estimates for the move and chose IMS/Mayflower because we felt comfortable with the level of professionalism exhibited by Suzanne Purifoy, even though they were more expensive. That confidence soon disappeared once the contract was signed. The driver showed up on day of move and within 10 minutes told us that he could not fit all of our belongings on his truck. This had never been discussed as a possibility. We didn't complain and were told by driver that a truck would come that day to carry the remainder to FL and would be there in a few days, at the most 2 weeks. The remaining furniture and personal items were taken to a storage facility somewhere in Dallas . No one from IMS ever called to give us a plan. We began calling after a few days and were told every time that they had no idea when it would be picked up. At the end of 2 weeks, we became very concerned and upset and they promised to "escalate" our move. Exactly one month after the first load was picked up, the remainder was delivered. I believe that if we had not pressed the issue, our things would still be in Dallas IMS storage. My attempts to reach Suzanne via phone and email during this process were never returned. The people we did talk to, in particular, Shelley, were rude and unhelpful. I will never use another company in any way associated with IMS/Mayflower and will encourage everyone I know to do the same. read more

We contracted IMS to move our belongings from Irving, TX to Lewisville, TX. This is only about 10 miles apart. I was told the movers would arrive between 8 and 9 a.m. and they did. They arrived at 8:45. They were courteous and worked diligently until all belongings were loaded. I drove ahead of them on toll roads to meet them at the new address and my husband followed behind them on the surface streets. He drove past the movers who had stopped at a 7-11 service station 2 minutes from the new address. After half an hour passed I was concerned they were lost while the hourly rate clock was ticking. I called my move coordinator and they arrived shortly after. I mentioned to the lead loader i was concerned they were lost and he told me they had stopped to eat. The carpets had just been cleaned at the new address and when asked if they had shoe protection they told me they could put down a carpet protective plastic. This is not an effective process because the plastic moves and sticks to each other after being walked on a few times and they only put it down on staircase and walkways. So, once inside the room, they walked all over the carpet to position furniture. They had completed the unload process and were ready to depart at 2:15 p.m. When asked to sign the paperwork i noticed the lead guy had marked start time at 8 and end time at 3. No lunch clock out. He said, "don't worry, we'll just charge the company for the time". I called my move coordinator to ensure i was only being charged from arrival to departure plus their standard built in drive time of an hour. A few days later the charges posted for the incorrect total hours (lead mover total time). I called and was refunded the difference promptly. Good service but keep track of your own time if possible, watch for the charges to post (if credit card) and keep the carpet issue in mind. I also recommend overseeing the process to make sure you are ok with how they are loading and arranging your belongings. read more

IMS accomplished the number one criterion for a mover: they were dependable. Everything happened according to plan from the initial survey and estimate to the supply of free moving boxes to the arrival, loading and unloading of the truck. Biggest surprise of all: the cost was exactly as estimated although the actual weight turned out to be significantly greater than estimated. Plenty of behind-the-scenes support personnel kept in touch with us during the move. The driver could not have been more professional. My wife and I traveled separately on a separate route and were delayed in route due to weather. We had the cell number of the driver and he accommodated our later arrival. The final delivery required offloading to smaller trucks due to the location of our new home in the Portland hills. To our surprise we were informed that Mayflower does not charge for shuttle service. Final surprise: almost no moving damage to either home or to our belongings. I cannot recommend IMS any higher. read more
