The studio requires you to bring wear socks, or if you forget to bring a pair, offer some for purchase in the far left of the studio. The space has other merchandise for sale like exercise tops, a restroom for students, hooks and cubbies for storage, mirrors all along one wall and windows letting in a ton of natural light along the other. The windows and mirrors truly make this space gorgeous and relaxing. The class was challenging and called for lots of small movements and holds, but it was exciting as the routine was very dynamic and we moved on from things often. The instructor gave me helpful hands on adjustments and was sweet and motivational. I'd come here again!

Clearly the word about this studio hasn't gotten out yet, since there were only 6 people in my class (which is awesome because usually Zumba classes are so packed you can't dance without bumping into someone). Our instructor Natalia was super enthusiastic and energized, beaming the whole time and dancing expertly while I struggled to catch my breath and follow along. She was very fun and lively, and I highly recommend!! The only downside to this studio is the awkward columns in the middle of the dance floor. The whole time I was dancing, I felt like I was gonna crash into the column behind me. But just make sure you don't choose a spot next to a column!

While I'm not the most well coordinated person when it comes to dancing, the class was really fun and it was a good sweat! I also took a body toning class with Sultan and that was really intense for me. I don't know if it was because it was a small class (literally 4 of us in the class) but it almost felt like I had a private trainer where I really had to keep on top of my toes. She listens to what I want to work on, and is able to customize each session based on my concerns and aspirations. Almost as important for me, Chrissy has become a friend. I enjoy going to pilates with her because, though it is hard work, there is good conversation and good results. Most importantly, the results speak for themselves. I feel stronger and look better than I have in awhile. I am often complimented and have had friends who began working with Chrissy because of my results. Chrissy is also working with my sister-in-law currently who is 7 months pregnant. She is really happy with their sessions. She feels that Chrissy's knowledge of the prenatal body has made her experience really different from any she's tried. As a soon-to-be-auntie, I am happy to have my little nephew and sister-in-law in Chrissy's delicate care. I would recommend her to anybody interested in pilates. I was SO excited to finally try Tracy Anderson while visiting NYC after following them on social…read moremedia for years. I assumed it was impossible to get into a class, but I booked an 11am on a Friday with no problem. Granted most of the world was likely at work at this time! My friend and I walked from our hotel and it took a little longer than we expected to get there. We had hoped to arrive early to get set up, but walked in just about as class was to get started. There were bands hanging from the ceiling and they even give you a pole to get them down. The instructor got right to work and it was clear that we were to follow her. She didn't give much (or any) instruction throughout the class, but I did my best to follow her...and it was pretty tough. While there are definitely some experts in the class I just didn't have the flexibility or coordination for this workout. And they heat the room, which is my personal worst nightmare. I typically stay away from any heated class and would have done the same here if I had known. The music was good and the bouncy floor was super cool (i want one in my basement), but that was about all I liked. I'm glad I finally got to try Tracy Anderson because it's been on my bucket list for awhile, but think I'm one and done.

For those…read more30-60 minutes, you will be moving, sweating, moving some more, sweating some more, you get the picture. Mike is one of the most strategic technical trainers that I have ever met! In high school psychology, I learned about gestalt or something that is more than the sum of its parts. Gestalt totally describes Mike's workout strategy. Depending on the workout that you are doing i.e. 4x4 beginning, 4x4 intermediate, the gauntlet, you will do 4-5 rounds. In each round, you will do 2 sets of each exercise and within each set, you will do anywhere from 5 to 30+ reps. In the beginning of each round when Mike first explains each exercise, nothing looks or sounds too crazy, but put together, oh baby, you feel the burn and that round somehow becomes more challenging than you thought it would be. Despite that challenge and the fatigue that you will definitely encounter, Mike makes the whole experience positive and always is watching your form. The most challenging part of the workout is remembering the exercises and number of reps for each exercise for each round and then keeping track of how many reps you have done. Only recommendation I would add is perhaps getting dry erase markers and writing out the exercises on the mirror and the number of reps for that round. Major bonus points to Mike for always remembering clients' names!

Now, though, that the wedding is in sight and I don't really want to have to wear the largest available suit size - I decided it was time to listen to her and join them for a session. I have to say that Mike met and exceeded all expectations. I have had trainers before with mixed results (see above) - but I know I'll be working with Mike up to the wedding and beyond. After only a couple sessions he quickly learned how to read me and get the most out of me. He seems to know when to stay quiet and let me fight through it or when to really encourage me to keep going. My strength and range of motion has increased dramatically and am already down a belt hole or two.... As a guy - Mike makes it very comfortable vs other way too macho guys I've had as trainers. He can talk football one minute and the next best restaurant the next ... So yeah - sign up now!
