Kudos to the veggie options though - Veggie burger (sans patty) & grilled cheese burger. Not a great veggie option since they didn't have a veggie patty. So the last time I had in and out was over 20 years ago in California, so I was pretty surprised to find it here in Austin Texas. That being said over 20 years I definitely think my taste have changed. I would've rated in and out way higher back in the day, but now on taste I just have to give it a three. The fries were real thin and dry, but I will say the burger was good and made to order. I definitely would give the Customer service, restaurant cleanliness and friendliness of the staff is a five. We had time to kill before our flight home, so we found the closest In-N-Out for lunch. We were a few people back in line and I noticed that a couple of women from the homeless encampment nearby were there. The counter person treated them like any other customer, even filling up one's water jug. That was very heartening to see. Like always, my double double animal style was amazing . Super cool that In-N-Out made it to Austin. This is my favorite location because the drive-thru is kind of like going through a little park how it winds through the property. If you've never been to In-N-Out before there is a couple little quirky things. First of all they wrap the hamburger so half of it is sticking out. This will make sense because they ask you if you're eating in the car in which case they want to give you a tray. Honestly I don't really get it and I wish they would just put the hamburger in the bag without you having to tell them to do so...and give it to you fully wrapped like every other to go place in the world, but I guess some people like it how they do it. I will say it works pretty well if you plan on eating in your car which you probably do. But still it would just be nicer if they wrapped it up so that half of it isn't falling out in the bag. Some other things that I would point out is the hamburgers are super thin and super fatty with a ton of salt. This must be what people like but if you have to put this much salt on any type of food it's a big red flag. The point here is I would recommend ordering a burger with two patties on it rather than two separate burgers because the patties are so thin you need two to make up a normal size burger. The staff does always seem very hardworking and a beat and generally it is a positive experience. The decor is definitely the red and white diner style which is cute... It feels a little bit old school with a modern twist. read more

In-n-Out may definitely be "overrated" but it's still a darn good burger with a unique taste. Greasy and salty as heck, their burgers satisfy my urge for a bit of a different tasting burger. I can't do the burger justice - I've only had animal style burgers and they've been really darn good every time. Sometimes I like to load up on a few cascabella peppers, which may look like mild peppers but they actually pick a nice, juicy punch. I'm a sucker for quality condiments, so these peppers go a long way for me. I hate how the burger and cheese alwaysssss sticks to the greasy wrapper. I wish the burgers were maybe wrapped normally, but whatever I guess it makes for a good display. Now, you may hear mixed things about In-n-Out's fries and there's a good reason for that - their fries have accomplished the amazing task of being the worst fries I've had. I've had school cafeteria fries, mind you. Animal style doesn't help at all... you can't mask that weird cardboard taste. I absolutely would never recommend these fries unless you're super curious on how you can make fries taste outright bad. Milkshakes are average quality. For the price, however, I'd recommend grabbing a milkshake if you want a sweet treat. read more

First off, let me say that I love In N Out. It hurts to have to give a less than stellar review here because it remains one of the few places to get fresh fast food with perfect service. However, what used to be the best lettuce-wrapped burger on Earth has turned into a disappointing mess. For the past few months, every protein-style burger I've ordered has come with a completely saturated, single leaf of lettuce on each side of the burger with absolutely no "wrap" at all. I've even tried to order extra lettuce, hoping to get back to that awesome lettuce wrap that keeps everything in place - no dice. As much as it kills me, I may have to spend twice as much for an inferior burger and go to Five Guys - who actually wrap their burger in several lettuce leaves. For those of us who need to ditch the bun... please In N Out... don't be stingy on the lettuce. read more

Named after what happens with most of our clients, this is a good and infamous and wildly popular burger chain, and a very busy incarnation of it with as much foot traffic as driving action, if not more (which is very unusual for an In N Out). I was surprised and happy to see that InO had come to Texas because Texas people are always raving about Whataburger being the best and the country, and honestly it's not, and this place is at least just as good. At the very least. It's different though. It's a bit more american-style, a bit less southern-style I suppose. If you want southern style burgers Whataburger is a million miles from what you want, try Lankford in Houston for example as a good version of it. Honestly In N Out isn't that much better than 5 Guys, but it was decent and Barbie enjoyed her first experience here, not to mention all the people watching, packed full of wild college kids hitting on my girlfriend (yes really), because this is an extremely busy location on any given night of the week, which makes it fun.
