Review for service only, food has always been good. Few misses but that's expected with workforce these days. I added my receipt for context. $20 dollar regular sub after I add things. I go to the counter say my name and he says okay they are still making it, I go to the bar, grab to small to go cups to add one ranch and one mustard for the second small sub I ordered. The manager tells me not to take anything from the bar because I already added "too much" on my sandwich. I look at him and say I can't grab any sauce and he says yes you have a lot on your sandwich already. The food itself was lacking flavor, which was disappointing given how good it used to be. The service was the bigger issue. After placing a to-go order, I was given a number, which usually means they'll bring your food out--but instead, my number was loudly shouted across the room towards me. I gestured for a moment. Within seconds it was yelled again. When I went to grab my order and was about to pick up an extra sauce from the condiment area, the staff member (Alberto, per my receipt) snapped at me that it was for dine-in only. The tone was unnecessarily rude, and the interaction felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. He proceeded to tell I wasn't to touch and had to ask him for the condiments. Update on my review for Texadelphia Sunset Valley as it is the ONLY Texadelphia in Austin now and they are still kicking tail here. Every time I come in here I am met with such a positive attitude and friendliest willingness to serve me and help me satisfy my philly cheesesteak needs. All of the Texadelphia classics are offered here and all made-to-order so always fresh, hot, and ready for you to either dine in and eat or take it to-go. Their website of ordering to-go orders is super easy to navigate, without an account, and can select what time you prefer to pick it up. Although they don't offer ice cream anymore, for an after meal treat, I am not mad about it because you got some sweet treat offerings just next door on BOTH sides of Texadelphia. Next time you are here make a note of what those are. Sports and even Wheel of Fortune is played all day on the large and beautiful/new tv's here. I could see myself and my partner come in and watch a football game over cheesesteaks and beer. I saw a small offering of some solid beer and drink choices here. My experience became like a horror movie. I just went to Texadelphia here on Brodie Lane, excited to eat here since I hadn't eaten this restaurant since I was a kid, when I went with my father. I ate the Original Classic, I enjoyed the food decently well: and then a giant rat ran across the floor. I repeat, I witnessed not even ten minutes ago, around 6 PM on March 15th, a gigantic rat run across the floor here and between some guy's legs. Rats are horrible, disease-carrying, verminous creatures. All the guy at the front desk could say was, "oh yeah, we've been dealing with them for a while now." No. Nonononono. No way. This was God telling me not to eat out as often, to stay home. I feel disgusted eating food, knowing full well that a rat could have ran across it in their kitchen. Just because the sandwich tasted decent doesn't make up for the fact that your establishment has GIGANTIC MUTATED RATS running across your floor, guys. Heck, I even loved all the UT longhorn merch on the walls! But y'all gotta clean up your act. That was horrifying, what I just dealt with. I was trying to have family from out of town enjoy something that they can only find in Texas I was so disappointed in my visit. Why even mention the prices when the taste was so bland and overall the meal was so underwhelming. The amount of under cooked onions plus the width of the onion was like eating a blooming onion that was undercooked and again so under seasoned. The last few bites I did my best to pick the pedals of onions out my sandwich and found the "steak" so BLAND and mush that it dawned on me the entire sandwich was the problem. Last night I was in Texadelphia, and while I went to fill up my drink, a rat ran right past my arm on the counter and went behind the drink machine. Not a little mouse, a giant New York City size rat. It clearly runs rampant all over the restaurant, as I told the staff and they acted like it was no big deal. calling the health department on Monday for sure as the phone number on the front door isn't set up for voicemail and there was no way to contact operations. I was admittedly shocked by this place. I'm a northeastern transplant in Austin and this was THE best cheesesteak I've ever had. The bread was the freshest and softest, meat was perfectly favored and not bland, and the cheese and onions complemented the sandwich. Ironically I didn't get any of the "texas" toppings given that that's what makes this place so unique but I loved it simple as it was. Also, the chips were the best I've ever had. First of all, the cashier with the neck tattoo was very much indifferent in providing any kind of customer service. We have been staunch supporters and fans of Texadelphi for a long time...however Covid has killed the food, exterminated the experience and the food is no longer good. We ordered the Founder's Favorite, one of the signature dishes (a warm 10" roll with sliced beef, onions, mushrooms, jalapenos) that used to be served in a basket, with either chips or fries. NOW the Founder's Favorite is prepared, split in half by ripping the sandwich in half by hand (you can tell when you see the bread). This results in a doughy, wrinkly bread/meat mash, wrapped in foil paper and pressed into the bottom of a white paper bag, as all food is now prepared for takeout. The experience of adding the Texadelpia signature sauces no longer exists; you now have to request when ordering and you only receive one of each sauce (about 2 tablespoons) per order. We will miss the Texadelpia of the past... we don't plan to for over $25 for smushed meat sandwiches. :-( read more

Love their philly cheesesteak!! I always get their steak and cheese, minus the onions. And add their mustard blend to it. Usually a little mustard goes a long way, but their mustard blend is so freaking good that there is no such thing as too much!! That being said, the sandwich is just as good without it. The meat is so tender and flavorful. It's so good that it has become an addiction! And their fresh, hot tortilla chips that come with each sandwich are also very good. They add just the right amount of salt to taste yummy. The employees are always very friendly. I highly recommend this place! read more
