The physical space of this location is great and has plenty of seating for guests. The service here is friendly and on point. All the staff members were attentive, speedy, and genuinely provided you with ample portions. I came during dinner hours, and enjoyed how this location wasn't packed like the previous two locations I'd gone to in the North Austin/downtown area. This location had a long line on a Friday evening, but the line moved decently quickly. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Their plastic cups make for good souvenir cups to take home. We came here for my friend's birthday dinner, and it was a blast. My other friend from out of town was delighted to get to experience Cabo Bob's. I came from a really long bike ride and needed food bad. No better place than Cabo Bob's to fuel me back up! Manuel provided outstanding customer service. I walked in at 9:03 PM, right before they closed and he still treated me with the same hospitality and kindness as any other customer. In fact, I was the very last person in line. I ordered the #7 but they ran out of steak. I was super bummed about the situation but Manuel was very empathetic and acknowledged how I was feeling and that meant a lot to me. Really been excited to try Cabo Bob's and I am glad I did! It's kinda like a local ATX style Chipotle, but with a ton of menu flexibility and different burritos and combos. Good soda too. I really like the vibe and I had a burrito bowl which I thought very good. The rice was ehh, and maybe that's because I went brown rice. Only other comment I'd say is although i really did like the decor, I felt they can do a better job keeping it clean and tidy. I guess if they are this busy at 4pm, the army of staff is necessary for when an actual meal time hits. Or maybe this kind of line is standard, constant and every time of everyday. The value on our meal I find is really quite reasonable for what you get. Hands down, the best fast food restaurant around. No need for Chipotle, Cabo bobs is a newer and improved restaurant with amazing bowls and burritos. If you are looking for a burrito, they have so many tortilla options from smoky cheddar to ancho chili, you can't go wrong picking one of the freshly made tortillas. I love that there are multiple protein options. My typical go-to is a rice bowl with chicken, vegetables, and their tasty chipotle crema sauce! I wish that they had this sauce in stores, because I would absolutely have that in my kitchen. Recently I got the breaded fish and I was pleasantly surprised with the tasty quality! The chips are also always warm, crunchy and perfectly salted. Cabo Bob's can get very packed as the line can stretch to the door, so I would not go here if you have a 5-10 minute time crunch to get somewhere (depending on peak hours). I am not sure how quick online orders are, but I do know that on busy nights close to closing, they prioritize serving customers who are in person which is nice. Found this places after an intense Yelp search and made a great decision. When I rolled up, there was a line out the door. It moved pretty fast and made it out in about 20 mins total. All the tortillas are made fresh right in front of you and they have different flavors to choose from. I chose the smoky cheddar and watched the guy take the flavored dough and press it out in the tortilla machine; pretty cool they do this for everyone. Then its the assembly line, Chipotle style. Got the fish burrito and all my favorite topping; they also chop it all up before they roll it which was pretty entertaining to watch their burrito closing skills. I didn't get anything extra and it was about 2lbs of food. Could only eat half and had breakfast for the next morning. The guacamole was also very good. Cabo Bobs used to be one of my favorite places to grab fast food that didn't seem fast and actually was so yummy! Now, I don't know that I can go back. The past 3 times we have gone ( and even to different locations), it's been so awful. Greasy - SO GREASY - food that just isn't even edible. I always get the kids quesadilla meal - I can't even finish that, much less the normal ones, so the portions are really awesome and another reason I loved them. The chips were so greasy, then, the grease dripping and forming a pool in my container - I took a few bites and just couldn't do any more. They've expanded immensely since opening here in Austin, so I don't know if the growth is the reason for the lack of quality, but I just can't keep spending money with a place that continues to lower it's standards of quality. read more

All that for $8 and change? Everyday, any day. The sauteed zucchinis are the best part and most unique filling when it comes to the standard array of fast food options. Also it is really reasonable with it being as cheap if not cheaper than chipotle! But I do have 3 knocks on it, 1. They don't have a hot sauce spicy enough for a spice head like me 2. They have absolutely no alcoholic options, so be prepared to drink pop or water. And 3. The line to get a burrito can be extremely long and while they have an online order option, it is never the same as getting that fresh burrito. Sometimes it can take 30 min before you get to order.
