And of course, if you know about the not-so-secret menu, ordering "Animal Style" is basically a rite of passage. What really stands out though is the service. I caved and tried the in and out, held out for a while until a friend encouraged me to try this place when it was brand new to the area. I'm not going to lie. I was sold. This place was on point and delicious. The fries were great! And the burgers were delicious. Fast forward. I've came here quite a bit and it's just gotten worse every time. It almost seems as though the buns were stale before they grilled them and it makes the edges of the bun very hard. The burgers have a weird taste to them now. Whatever they did. Undo it. Stopped in on a Saturday afternoon. Service overall was friendly and quick. This was my first time having in-n-out outside of California, so I opted to eat outside since the weather was great. All the exterior tables were clean and there were about 6 options to choose from with differing levels of shade. There were a handful of individuals and families peppers throughout. I was able to easily find a seat and enjoy my meal. The only thing I didn't super care for were the birds. As someone who eats outside often, the birds in that area seems to just be waiting for an opportunity to snatch scraps. I've never noticed that elsewhere, so if I were to return I'd opt for eating inside. In terms of food, in-n-out is always consistent. I ordered a double double animal style with chilies and and fries animal style, hold the cheese. I would have enjoyed the fries more with a bit more sauce, but since it's a free upgrade I won't complain too much. read more

I've had In-N-Out probably 4 - 5 times in my life and truthfully, they make pretty good burgers but that's just where it ends! I really don't understand it, with all the houses and money out here. Olive Garden has come and flourished, why they don't think a very nice steakhouse or seafood spot would be profitable is beyond me (I'm not comparing OG and fancy steakhouses, I simply mean sit down establishments). But rant over, back to In-N-Out. I came home for Christmas and saw they'd finally opened. As typical, someone outside took my order vs driving up to the actual menu board. They had some traffic but I went before the typical rush hour so the wait wasn't that bad. Lady was nice who took my order, I went with a double double animal style add whole grilled onion (DO IT if you like onions). It was big, hot and delicious and the worker at the window gave me more spread which came in handy. The burger needed mayo too which I didn't have, that's my only "complaint." Now as typical with In-N-Out, the fries aren't good and don't be hot longer than 30 seconds. I always get them animal style and if you don't stir them around two seconds after getting them, that's gonna be a clumpy mess on your hands. They are equipped with employees and moderately staffed! They are so ready for us y'all!!! We normally like to dine in the car, since it comes in the box ready to eat. Tasting every bit the part of an eccentric California-style burger, this $6.17 expense holds up against the test of time, with its crunchy toasted bun, good quality meat and American cheese, fresh vegetables and their special sauce (which tastes a lot like 1000 island dressing). I didn't realize how long it had been and how it tasted 20 years ago. Yeah 20 years. See, I've had In-N-Out many many years ago when visiting Los Angeles. I was very young at the time and I guess then I didn't find it so fascinating. So 20 years later they open one up in Houston. I was pleased to get another chain in Houston but not so much to wait in those long lines that came with those early visits from the just opened and introduced chain in Houston. So a year later I'm finally trying it. Line wasn't so long but yet, longer than your average fast food burger spot. Nevertheless, I entered the line, got to the menu and did an instant drop jaw. The prices! OMG the prices were shocking. This place is like almost half the price of the other popular chains like McD and BK and especially WhataB. You also can see as you pass through the drive through, them working in the back cutting fresh onions, tomatoes, etc. The freshness is totally unbeatable in comparison to all the others. Every single bite is fresh, with excellent seasoning on that real beef. So let me get to the point. I don't think this chain has changed in the 20 years it had been since I tried them, I think that all the others have changed so much and cut corners so much that their original flavors from 20 years ago doesn't exist. In-N-Out is now by far the very best fast food burger joint left. There is nothing fast tasting about the food here. And they don't mess around with trying to sale other things like nuggets and strips and chicken sandwiches but instead focus on what they are good at... Burgers and Shakes. Plain and simple American made perfection here. Now armed with a fresh perspective and generational difference from food choices available now vs 20 years ago, This place is the official King of the fast food Burger in my opinion. In fact, that double double with mustard instead of the mayo sauce is much better than most popular burger joints in Houston period; and, a whole lot cheaper. I mean that big fresh made to order burger only ran me like $5.50. That's all. I ordered 3 of those with 3 shakes and an order of fries that fed 3 people for less than $26. That's incredible. That's really BadAss. My only issue here is that bottom bun has a bit of a edge thats too thick. But not worth dropping a star. This is definitely my new fav fast food type burger spot in Houston . Once inside, that familiar greeting by a staff member, who's moving about the place, checking/cleaning tables, another sweeping, preparing for the typical fast-paced seating selections by customers. If you know, then you know that you give your order to a family member so that you can hold your table-like at any other In & Out...worked fine for us (smile). We order our usual, our fave: "the double-double with cheese, animal-style". My husband's from L.A. and grew up on their burgers done this way. You get the grilled onions and cheese, plus their special sauce, that's just as tasty and messy enough as the original, but without falling apart-certainly, that's what the little brown parchment wrap and little white sleeve are for! Delicious. The fries! Still sticking to the formula... from scratch, hot, subtly crisp on the outside, perfect on the inside. Top it off with a hand-blended, extra thick, homemade chocolate shake. As a SoCal boy, this hometown favorite does not disappoint. Great location, easy parking, plenty of inside and outside seating, friendly staff, and the best fast food burger. You are treated well because they take care of their staff. Innout = the best burger : cost ratio anywhere. Look for Bible verses on your cups and etc. Unlike those other burger options, (you know who you are), after leaving Innout you always feel good about your meal choice. The best basic burger you'll ever have from a chain. What I like is the consistency of everything from flavor, texture and freshness. The customer service is also great because their employees are paid properly and always have a smile on their face. If I ever have an issue with the order they immediately correct it and don't leave you waiting. The venue is very clean as well. The only issue is that they need more parking.
