Great location, easy to access right off the 101 at Millbrae Ave. Be aware of the timing when you go, if you hit rush hour, the drive-through line can be brutal, even extending out onto the main street (Rollins Rd.). I've been a few times where cars are backed up in the turning lane waiting to enter the lot. The nice thing about the drive-through is that the turnover is quick. Everybody knows what they're doing and it shows by how quickly you can get from the end of the line to receiving your food, compared to what you would think based on the size of the line. They share the lot with a few other restaurants (Panera, Stick & Steam, L&L Hawaiian BBQ and a car wash), so there is usually plenty of parking around if not right in front of In-N-Out. The line inside has been particularly short lately due to COVID still, which is a nice thing to utilize to save time from the drive-through whether you eat there or take it to-go. The inside has always been well maintained, but is especially clean more recently. Last time I was there, they still weren't allowing customers to fill their own sodas or use the ketchup pumps, however that may have changed since CA has opened. Another thing we've done recently is get our order to-go and eat it fresh in the car. They have a good amount of outdoor dining spots, as most In-N-Outs do. The food is as delicious as you would expect and the staff has always been very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Same menu, same quick and efficient service, same quality of food. But. But what? This location is just better quality in taste than the one near my place in Alameda. All the flavors of the Double Double burger stood out. From the lettuce, bun, cheese, patties, to the crisp raw onions (love raw onions) made for an excellent textural, flavorful, burger with very little tectonic shift of the ingredients when biting into it. When I ate these burgers, in my mind, nothing could taste better. If I died and this was my last meal, I would have been content. Their staff is extremely active and they all know who is working on what kind of order I feel that this was fascinating to see how efficient they are because this place was jampacked, and the drive-through was completely filled with piles of cars, I cannot imagine How efficiently they could be working because I could see the orders coming out every second let's come back to my order. I ordered double cheeseburger and took all the veggies on the side because I was flying they packed it in a box for me make sure that none of the veggies get soggy, I couldn't wait for a long time before it could get cold. Usually it's our own fault when we end up with a different or missing item since we usually order as a big family and then the order gets all jumbled in our heads. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. On really busy days, the drive-thru can take 15 minutes from getting into the queue to finally driving away with your order. If you see a long drive-thru line and there's open parking spots -- sometimes it's actually faster to park and pick-up the food inside! Compared to other locations, this one suffers from having a poor set-up for the drive-thru line since it runs through the parking lot. Love the food here and the service. However, last night I went in and ordered a hot chocolate. The hot chocolate lid was not closed and when i carried it the hot chocolate spilled all over my hands! There is a wonderful consistency to In-N-Out restaurants (at least those in California). This location is no different. It offers the same great food and service at fantastic prices. I suppose that the only issue here is that the parking lot and entrance/exit for this particular location is not quite ideal. This is because it is almost ALWAYS busy here. I suggest that you enter through Adrian Road instead of the Rollins Rd. entrance (next to the am/pm gas station/convenience store). When I am going to pick up friends or family members from SFO (San Francisco International Airport), I usually stop here and wait for a "we've landed" text. It's convenient in that it is one Highway 101 exit away from the airport. It's a great place to grab lunch or a hot chocolate while waiting for those texts. read more

Any way: this is the essence of a good hamburger restaurant. Everything is fresh. It's clean. Fast. Tasty. Inexpensive. It serves a very limited menu. It does each of those things with panache. Their fries were potatoes several minutes earlier. Lightly salted, crisp and fluffy inside, plenty of them. The hamburger buns are still toasted and crunchy, the burger is tasty and hot, the pickles crisp and sour, the iceberg lettuce looks like a leaf of iceberg lettuce. I don't know where they get the cheese but it is ethereal. The shakes are either chocolate, vanilla, or strawberry. They are all too thick to drink though a straw for any reasonable period of time. Epic. So I really have nothing new to tell you that you don't already know about In-N-Out Burger. It's an In-N-Out Burger. Go there and eat. Get a bunch of napkins. read more

The double double combo was perfect as usual. It always is. Sometimes it's a little different depending on which shift is on. In general, however, a little extra cooked here and there isn't anything anyway. The main issue is the parking lot. Traffic through the parking lot is extraordinary, to say the least. Having your car blocked by drive-thru traffic is a normal occurrence. Having a conversation with the other driver and passengers while they're blocking your car is abnormal. First let me be clear this is not about the food. It's about In-N-Out's policy concerning masking and COVID-19. I moved to CA in 2001 and ate at In-n-Out happily for 15+ years . I especially loved the fresh fries, the shakes, and that attention was paid to detail, like the fresh never brown lettuce and the fluffy hambuger buns. I even turned my elderly parents into In-n-Out fans: they avoid all fast food generally but loved "animal style" burgers. I am not religious but it was fine with me if they wanted to cite a biblical verse on the bottom of the drink cups as it did not have anything to do with me obtaining/ enjoying their food. However, I have been boycotting In-n-Out for the last 3 years. Why? As a physician, long COVID researcher, and daughter of 2 parents with chronic health issues, I do not want to patronize a restaurant that does not support policies to protect their workers and customers from COVID-19. I was prompted to write a review today because I came across a new article that reminded me of In-n-Out's policy. Who knows? Maybe someone there will read my review? One can hope. Basically, their policies extend beyond just not requiring employees to mask. In Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, Texas and Utah, they actually prohibit employees who WANT to mask up. Supposedly, in CA and Oregon, they can't do this because state laws prevent them from interfering but if I were an employee there, I would catch the drift so to say and might be discouraged from protecting my own health and others. If In-n-Outs were franchises, then writing about the Millbrae In-n-Out would make less sense. But as I understand they are not and owned solely by one family/ group. I hope they consider this policy. COVID-19 is no longer about dying or even being hospitalized but about being sick for months and years on end with no treatment in sight. And it's not merely older and chronically ill people : the people most affected by long COVID are 35-49 years old. I wish long COVID were rare but it is not: 6% of Americans (16 million and counting) are disabled by it. read more
