I think the mall died out, so there's not as many cars in this drive-thru as there was 7 years ago (my last review of this location). The Fontana/Rancho location on the east side of the 15 freeway has one of the worst layouts for drive-thru, Vineyard and Foothill is just always busy, VIneyard and the 10 fwy. the line is long but moves quickly. We visited tonight and there was one or two cars ahead of us before we ordered at 8 pm on a Saturday. We were out of there in a matter of minutes. First of all I love eating at in n out, it is my go to place for a delicious burger. Yesterday I was there ordering my dinner through the drive thru. My truck decided to break down on me while in line. I was so embarrassed and immediately started to get nervous, especially being alone. I'm happy to say that I introduced my oldest son to the magic of adding grilled onions to your cheeseburger at this In-N-Out. He said the cheeseburger with grilled onions was the best burger he's ever had, so there you go. Grilled onions at In-N-Out is the only way to go, in my opinion! The drive-thru line at any IN-N-Out is always long, but this one went pretty quickly. They are very efficient here. And the service? Always great. The person who took our payment asked us if we wanted any stickers, and how many we wanted. That was a first! I didn't know In-N-Out had stickers for kids, but they do! My kids were very excited. After getting a Chick-fil-A original sandwich, my eldest daughter and I went over to In-N-Out for some yummy fries. They both are conveniently located right next to each other so it was a very short drive over to the other side. Due to its small lot space, the drive-thru line if it's long will block most of the parking spaces. So be informed to park away from the drive-thru line. Otherwise, you may have to wait to get out of your parking space. Now to our visit... we went through drive-thru. Got 2 fries no salt and 1 water. Fries were very good as usual... right amount of crispiness and just delicious. Water was fantastic! LOL Staff who took our order and staff who gave us our order were both pleasant and nice. This is a drive thru experience on a busy weekend. The staff are friendly and work very efficiently. We ordered three cheese burgers as 3 cheese burgers with extra lettuce and tomato. Then for two burgers, we went with grilled onions, and one without onions; plus one fries to go. Burgers taste great, and fries taste as crispy as usual! It's a bit slower than weekdays because of weekend crowd; due to close proximity to Ontario mills mall. Drive thru ambience is fine as we just want to go in-n-out really quickly with great burgers. We are lucky the burgers at In-N-Out are not overcharged with inflation on cost and labor but increased to reflect the cost of doing business. Drive thu line is always long but it's always fast! Well worth the wait in line for some delicious food. Order always perfect. We went today and we saw the sign on window says ' free hot cocoa for kids on rainy days'. Which happened to rain today. Comes with marshmallows. My daughter enjoyed it. The staff is above and beyond friendly, you can tell they truly love their jobs! When my cousin and I get together, we ALWAYS laugh and have a good time, but yesterday was a little different. About an hour before heading to In-N-Out for dinner, we found out some really bad news. We had just been bawling our eyes out and crying, so when we made it to In-N-Out, we were just being silly. We took the opportunity to blow off some steam and have a good laugh. The attendant was a great sport! While we were pulling up to the drive-thru, my cousin told me to whisper and ask the attendant what's on the "secret" menu. At first she looked puzzled. Then she adjusted her headset and asked me what I said. So, I repeated myself. She told me they don't have a secret menu and I said, "It's okay, I won't tell anyone. I turned to my cousin and asked, "What are those fries called again?"Meanwhile, the attendant was responding to my original question, "We have a 4 by 4 and a 3 by 3." She looked so serious. My cousin and I started busting up! When we were pulling off to go to the window to pay, the attendant smiled and said, "But really, we don't have a secret menu." She made our night! THANK YOU, In-N-Out for taking the time out to vet and hire such thoughtful and professional employees. You NEVER know what someone else is going through when they come in your drive-thru. This location is actually located right next to a Chick-Fil-A, so sometimes the parking lot can be very crowded and a bit difficult to maneuver around. Tonight that wasn't really an issue. The drive-thru line moved very quickly. I can confirm the price increases discussed recently in the news and on social media. The location has the typical INO decor inside and out with plenty of palm trees around the store. It's always been clean when I've visited this location. The staff is friendly and efficient. I tried the double-double animal style and added chopped chiles tonight. I don't know if I just finally figured out my go-to order for INO after all these years, or if this location just made the best double-double I've ever had, but it was epic! The burger was still piping hot when I got home, which is rare even when I order it in a box with a lid. I was very impressed with the temperature and the quality of my burger this evening. Another great location and perhaps the best cooks? Our late afternoon visit seems to confirm that this location is expertly run. If only their neighbors (Chick-fil-A) would have their shit together, their ineptitude at parking lot management and courtesy towards their neighbor is sub-par. The drive-thru for In-N-Out, conversely, is well placed along the perimeter, if you can get past the bozos next door. We were cut off twice, coming and going. The line in drive-thru moved quickly despite only having one lane, and the food was just coming to the pickup window after paying. The first glance showed they followed all Secret Menu instructions perfectly. Like many people we decided to eat in the car in whatever shade was available. I really enjoyed my 3x3, so cheesy, it was perfect. We skipped fries, I never really liked the In-N-Out preparation, and after experiencing a batch spoiled by an actual rotten potato at a Riverside location, I decided not to bother in the future. That's nothing on this location but I also feel less like a slug if I skip fries altogether. In summary, this location is harder to enter or leave than many I have visited, mostly because of their lame inconsiderate neighbors (maybe Sunday is good because these jerks are closed?).
