There is an employee, an older gentleman named David. He was so kind to our group. He made sure we all had everything we needed. I watched his interaction with different people and he is just the nicest man. I told him it was my granddaughter's birthday, and he brought her a strawberry shake with a hat that he took the time to write happy birthday on it for her. That's the best costumer service ever. Who doesn't like in&out. It's one of those places that's universally liked because it's just a great burger place. Just know that when you do come that your more than likely going to have to wait. The lines are always long unless you get lucky I like how simple their menu is. It's very basic. You've got your burgers, fries, and milkshakes. And all you have to decide on is what size and if you want onions on it. they do have a secret menu, which you could probably Look up online. This is exactly what it sounds like, off the menu options. Now to the burgers! I really think the sauce and the bun make the burger. This in n out is by far the best in SD. I've always enjoyed in n out and I didn't think it could get any better but apparently it can. This places line always seems to go faster than the others and the service is always on point. As far as the food, tastes just a tad better than the rest. Food is hot when served and they actually cook the cheese on. Every time I get cheese fries the cheese is always half melted on. This place always has their cheese melted all the way. :) read more

We enjoy ordering animal style fries which come with grilled onions, animal sauce, and cheese. Next time we are gonna just add chopped chilies on everything! This In-N-Out has such an upbeat, enthusiastic staff. The energy they have is infectious! We dined in on a rainy Friday night and sat at a table where we had a good view of the kitchen. It's always fun to watch a young In-N-Out crew decked out in their paper hats, all-white attire, red aprons and gigantic safety pins workin' it in the kitchen, cheering each other on, patting co-workers on the back for a job well done. It's like watching a locker room scene. And I love how everyone looks like they were teleported from the '50s. In-N-Outs are just awesome like that. There was also this rosy-cheeked young 'un making rounds of the dining room - wiping tables, glass partitions, putting the condiment counter in order...this he did the entire time we were there. I thought that was really cute ;) I also got to see how they did their fries. They use real fresh potatoes - not frozen (as stated on their burger sleeves) - slide them one by one into their amazing fry cutters and then dump them in the fryers. So cool. Assuming you have already had and experiermced in n out, they are all pretty much 5 stars for their food. This review of the santee location is 5 stars because of David. The super friendly guy who walks around greeting people, answering questions, bringing stickers and hats to the kids, and who seems to have a genuine concern with the well being of others. I witnessed a lady come up and somewhat with an attitude ask, "You don't have no ketchup?!?" David very kindly pointed out the ketchup station right around the corner and then asked, "How many can I get for you?". Watching this level of customer service made my day.
