But most importantly, all staff are very helpful with me- I am handicapped and walk with a cane. Ed is my personal trainer; totally recommend the In-Body assessment that comes with personal training. Daniel the sales rep is awesome. He took care of my transition from regular member to Silver & Fit member. Also showed me the hydro massage table which unbelievably healing!! There's two tanning booths available as well. Of all the qualified Silver & Fit gyms in the Antelope Valley, this In-Shape has the most included benefits like towel service. A bit disappointed! I switch from the east side In-shape to the west side In-shape, thinking it would be a bit better. I understand that you have to make reservations for a cycling class. But people literally save bikes and put their belongings on a particular bike . Each time I have gone in to use the bikes there is somebody's jacket towel on the bike even when there is no class in session. If I wanted to take a class and get a full experience, I would never be able to use a bike in the front of the class, because they are all being reserved with personal items. This should be a first come first serve basis this should not be allowed and it's not OK and very unfair. read more

New equipment and layout in gym I'm super stoked about. Less crowded and less groups of young guys, more serious atmosphere. With the recent hike in price I feel like I'm forced to write a review. I've been there for about a 9 months now I believe. They've removed cleaning stations. Which is kinda gross. Now it's paper towels but there's never really any and spray bottles are usually missing. This is creating a lazy culture in the gym when it comes to cleaning the machines. I've never seen staff cleaning the machines I'm not sure if they do it at closing but I constantly go wash my hands during my sets to avoid getting sick. Another thing I've noticed too is that machines are constantly down for at least 2-3 weeks. Steam room was down for weeks. The pull up station on the second level was down for weeks for renovations. I get that they are trying to improve but when it's alot of things not working at the same time it can be a huge bummer to hit the gym. Dumbells are always missing. Spread out across the gym. Especially in the lower weights like 15's-25's. The dumbbell rack upstairs is also missing a lot of pairs. Overall i still prefer to be here because of the people that go here are all actually there to exercise for the most part (depending on what time you go). I just wish the gym would address the issues that are there while they raise the price. Which is also weird because I thought we all signed a contract. read more

I am a senior with bad joints. I come here 3 times a week to take the aqua fitness classes. The pool temperature is adequate about 50% of the time. There is at least 1 day, and sometimes all 3 days that the pool is in the mid to lower 70's for a temp. It is much too cold, causing aching joints all day. Management doesn't seem to care. I'm paying for a membership that I can't use a lot of the time. Due to back issues, I can only use the pool for a workout. The instructors and fellow people in the class are great, But a cold pool sucks. read more

Child care continues to be an ongoing issue that could be resolved by adequate staffing. As a mom, my schedule is limited and when I arrive to the gym I expect to be able to get access to the kids club. When there is a waitlist, not only am I waiting for me to POSSIBLY get in, but it also cuts into my gym session or eliminates it altogether. Having a 24/7 kids club would greatly benefit all moms who have tight schedules or simply cannot make it before noon or after 4pm. I feel like as a family gym, it could be more family friendly and accommodating. PLEASE on behalf of all moms: OPEN THE KIDS CLUB LONGER! I have continuously contacted management to add more baby changing tables without success. There is ONE changing table inside the kids club. NONE in the women's restroom and NONE in the family restroom. Staff is friendly but at times you'll find 4/5 people in the front desk chatting and a waitlist in the kids club due to low staffing. Love this gym. The people are great. People are so nice to help. The front desk is great. They say hi and sometimes engages in small talk which makes you feel like a person. I love this gym and I do like the new setup they did. It opens it up a lot and it makes it flow a lot better. The cleaning is great. I always see them cleaning and keeping the gym nice. I do see a lot of people leave a bunch of weights where all the ab machines are which is terrible. Clean your mess people come on you use it you put it back stop being lazy. The morning is busy anywhere from 8am-10am is very busy. When I go around 10:30am it's pretty slow and after 12:30pm is slow. 4pm I heard it gets very crowded. Ps. Please don't sit on the machines on your phone people are waiting for it be nice and hurry up. read more

DISAPPOINTING FIRST-TIME EXPERIENCE As first-time visitors, we had a very negative experience at this gym. We mistakenly entered through the wrong door (which someone opened for us), not realizing it was a fire exit -- an honest mistake. We immediately went to the front desk to sign up for the 3-day trial that was advertised. About 15 minutes into our visit, a staff member approached us in a very rude and accusatory manner. Instead of calmly explaining the issue, she accused us of being "suspicious" for using the wrong door and abruptly told us we could not use the trial and would need to pay $15 per day or sign up for a full membership. We had already apologized for the misunderstanding, but her tone and attitude were completely unprofessional and unwelcoming. First impressions matter, and unfortunately, this one made us feel uncomfortable and disrespected. There are plenty of other gyms in the area that understand how to treat guests with basic courtesy -- we won't be coming back here. 5 stars to the lady at the front desk though. Palmdale In Shape ignores customer complaints. One example is mens handicap shower (intentionally?) does not move to allow maxiumum heat whereas other showers do acheive the higher temperature. Several customers have complained about this over the last 5-months. Have other complaints about facilities and management but sure they are ignored. Apparently corporate does not care about customer problems either as they respond to complaints here on yelp by asking you to email them about how to improve their clubs; but then they reply with a form letter and never get back to you. read more

It's dirty. Old equipment, mats and cushions are ripped in the corners . always waiting to use a machine. Everything is out of place. Members don't bother to put back the equipment where it belongs. There is no personnel making sure the place is organized. It has a clear sign outside the sauna no shoes allowed everyone goes in WITH shoes. Some males walk around without a shirt. Personal training is a ripoff. Their sessions are only 50 min but since you have to wait for machines to be available its waisted time. They are in such a hurry to do all the sessions one after another not giving enough time to learn the routine. I don't have a lot of experience so it takes me longer to learn the assignments. And learning the machines. They give access to a special app where the trainer describes your workout for that day. I was told that the app will stay active for at least another month until I learned the routines My last session was Monday two days later they removed all the related information. Now I don't remember all the exercises had to do!!! I paid $400 for 4 sessions because I didn't want to sign a 3 month contract for $340 and honestly feel I was ripped off. not too much to complain about but the only bad thing about this gym is that they always have their weights scattered and I can never seem to find a pair together. They only have a limited amount of adjustable benches and dumbbells throughout the whole gym. the bumper plates or any sort of plates are scattered as well and some are even left on the barbells. The gym etiquette is not being enforced at all whatsoever. makes me take time out of my day to go on a scavenger hunt to find these weights. read more

My wife and I are seniors. We attend In Shape's Young At Heart classes on 10th St W in Palmdale four days a week, and love our good-humored and highly skilled instructor Laura. She subscribes to an up tempo music service that keeps us moving and fit at the right pace. We use calisthenics, stretch bands, balls, discs and weights. The Wednesday class is aerobic and a more serious full body workout, but she encourages everyone to move at their own level. If you're a senior and want to get or stay in shape, I encourage you to sign up for Laura's class, YOUNG AT HEART, on the In Shape app. The class name sucks but the workout is just what we need. read more

I canceled my membership many months ago and they've charged me twice the last 2 months. I called to get some help and they were pretty much useless and said they were reluctant to refund money and made it overall difficult. I had to resort to call my bank and report it as fraud. TERRIBLE SERVICE on their part. And on top of everything even with their support services which haven't contacted me back. They still want to charge an extra $174 for cancelation. Ok so I love the gym, I would give it 5 stars today but I was so disappointed to find out they are gonna cancel less Mills sprint. Why ???? We all adore Cyn she is amazing and gives us the best pep talk after class is finished. This class is part of why I love the gym, it's my stress reliever . I take bodypump and spin always , a boxing class would be amazing with some bags. Another thing , please fill up the containers with sanitizing sheets at night . We go clean our bikes and machines and all containers are empty during morning. Another thing ? Why do I hear from different people , don't speak to the manager , she is young and knows nothing. Been coming here for almost 2 years now. My mom & sister had a membership long before I did. Love Loretta's, Lady T's, & Amy's classes especially, but all the instructors are awesome. Antonio is an amazing personal trainer. It's funny because I used to be a part of Planet Fitness, and I joined this gym because of the pool, which I ended up using only once. Their aquatics area is a joke. Swimming in the pool is like swimming in pee water. Very cloudy. I have yet to see the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and pool all operational at one time. At least one of these is out of order. One time the jacuzzi was inoperable for 6 months! The excuse that I got was they were waiting for a part, got the wrong part, couldn't get a repairman. I originally joined when they first opened but have quit because of this issue. Their machines are looking pretty raggedy too. The 29 minute workout machines have broken pulls for the weights and the seats are torn. Place has gone downhill fast. read more

I have been coming here for a year. The only thing I use is the pool. You have to make reservations to get a lane. Which is a waste of time because nobody really does it and they just use your lane anyways. So now as I write this I am waiting for a lane to open up. And nobody regulates the pool. Its always cold. The jacuzzi is always having issues and never a hot tub. Its a warm tub of water. Also ever hear of a lifeguard. Don't need a tower just somebody who works here that stay's only in the pool area. Not someone that checks the ph every few hours. So annoying. What if someone drowns. I guess your on your own. As far as the reservations there shouldn't be any. It should be first come first serve. Is it me or more treadmills broken monthly. We do tell front desk but seem they are staying broken longer lately. I'm starting to question what my yearly fee is for when signing up about two years ago they said to keep maintaining the machines start to wonder what machines are they maintaining. Need more clean rags to wipe down machine went first thing 4:15am this morning rags were really dirty Please everyone I know our first thing to do is get our music ready to work out No WRONG safety is first tonight I was getting my music ready I assumed the treadmill off or at a pause because someone just got off seen it happen multiple times no biggie for them not wiping of the equipment but tonight it was on and I straight up flew off the machine I wanna say the only thing from flying is the other machine in line I'm not mad at the poor gentleman that left it on if anything he was the only person that took knowledge that I fell.
