In-Shape Family Fitness in Palmdale are complete rip offs... only giving a 1 cause I couldn't go…read moreany lower. I cancelled my membership (which was on hold for a few months) due to medical reasons and the membership had continued to show active... The crazy thing about this is, you can't cancel your membership if it's on hold the only thing you can do, is make it active, then cancel it. The issue with this is, like me, once you make it active, they charge you in full for another month, I would suggest: 1. You put in a tech enhancement to allow customers to make a cancellation from a hold... 2. Put the information upfront where it's clear during your on hold flow, that if you decided to cancel later on, you will be charged for the following month... And let's not forget, you guys sent me an email saying I would be charged for $1.87, then sent another email 3 days later saying, I would be charged $50.57 for something I have not and cannot use... you guessed it, they charged me 6/2 for $52.44. I sent you my medical information (which is beyond me over a month ago) that outlines I cannot workout, and I'm stillllll waiting for you to confirm that I won't be charged. Never again! #BBB #FraudAlert #scammers

I did appreciate that he didn't stop messaging me before setting a day for the tour and a workout. I was working long hours and can't really text while I'm at work. I was glad that he would message me back when I was able to text. Once the tour was over I was able to take the group class. I really liked the group sessions in a circuit . I haven't worked out so I was looking to modify most of the workouts. Carlos was the trainer and he was great. He was attentive since I'm under 5' he came over to help me out. He gave modifications when I told him I was not comfortable. The group was very nice even helped out a bit when I looked lost. You clean as u go to the next circuit so that was nice. Cubbies are provided. Gonna use the app to book my next sessions. So that kinda holds you accountable. Just make sure to cancel if u can't make the session so someone else can take ur spot. I really liked it here so will push thru 21 days. 21 days completed!! Can't wait to return to this gym. It really kept me motivated and not bored. I did feel intimidated bc I'm not familiar with the equipment or movements. The staff was very encouraging and engaged to keep me going. Thank you Tom and your staff.

When I called and asked for my payments to freeze because of my trip, they refused. So if you sign up, they will lie to your face and tell you what you want to hear so they can take your money. Once you sign, they will get your money no matter what excuses you will have. Be very cautious on signing a 1 year contract. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND! Bad business when they lie to their customers. You have been warned!

I started working out at Lift two months ago, and I absolutely love it…read more The workouts are effective and efficient, and, if you're a nerd like me, it's interesting to hear Dirk and Chenell talk about how the movements strengthen different muscle groups. They're always nearby to make sure my form is correct, and they never lose patience when I ask them to remind me how to do certain moves. Speaking of supervision, I went to Lift today for the first time in about a week and a half, and I told Chenell that I've been experiencing some pain in my left shoulder. She sent Dirk outside to talk to me about it, and after I described my symptoms, he re-wrote part of my workout and continued to check in to make sure I wasn't in any pain. I felt super safe and respected, and there was ZERO pressure for me to push through any discomfort. Hiiiighly recommend this place!

I started working out at Lift Silverlake seven weeks ago and my experience there has been 100%…read morepositive, far exceeding any expectations I had regarding the process and results I might see. It has been years since I've stepped foot in a gym, and I'm not young, so I had misgivings about how the training would go, but those misgivings have disappeared. I have always been active in one form or another, first as a (modest) school athlete, then in the military, and finally just interested in general fitness, but my time with Chenell, Dirk, and Emilie has yielded results (already?!) I've never felt or seen before. Going into this, I submitted information about my background and goals, and I feel it's clear that the team really listened and that I am on a tailored program directly addressing my goals. I am by no means an expert in weightlifting, and thus far have needed many reminders about which exercise is which, what the movements are, etc. but I always feel comfortable asking for those reminders. Dirk and/or Chenell, and/or Emilie are consistently close by for those reminders, or to help with adjustments to form, and pointing out if it might be time to increase resistance (weights) because of increased strength over time. I told myself I was "only" going to do two workouts per week when I started, and almost immediately (and eagerly) bumped it up to three workouts per weeks since I could feel and see positive results almost from the very beginning. I've since discovered that some close friends have also had great experiences at Lift Silverlake, and I've already found myself recommending it to friends based on my experience there.
