I know Gordon Ramsey visited a few years back but if he improved the place...I think that's questionable. This is a nice place for people golfing or anyone wanting to sit outside and enjoy the scenery (much like sunset pub in Lincoln Park), but it is pricey bar food. The nachos had all ingredients that were definitely store bought and everything else is simplistic on the menu. The buffalo chicken wrap was fine, nothing special or outstanding. The servers were all very sweet. The drinks from the bar are very Instagram worthy and I have to say the sweet tea was delicious. They have bands and trivia night so this definitely would be a nice bar to go to for a night out but wouldn't return solely for the food. read more

The scenery is beautiful and you are able to watch sunsets as you eat. The restaurant is on a golf course which also makes it have a fun vibe to it eating as people play in front of you. The service was average, waiter took our order promptly, very standard procedure. We ordered cocktails, which were tasty however I do think they might've been watered down/not very strong (which isn't a bad thing, but if I'm paying for a drink I shouldn't be questioning if it had alcohol in it or not). The chicken tenders and sliders were good, but standard nothing special. However, the avocado special sandwich I thought was delicious and would most definitely order again! What a great find! Live music, great view, surprisingly good food! Staff was friendly and casual. We went for Open Mic night and the talent was amazing. We started with wings and nachos, both hot so be warned for wimps like me. I had the salmon over rice, friends had salad, Avocado sandwich special and skirt steak. All good! We also had quesadillas bc the waitress recommended them. Every night they have drink specials and entertainment and live music on several of the nights. Sitting outside was great for the atmosphere but bring bug spray. The mosquitoes are brutal. Ping pong and TVs in the bar and plenty of room for seating or hanging at the bar. Love this small, local establishment. It's our go to place for a great night out, close to home. The staff is friendly, especially the hostess Joyce. The food is good and the atmosphere is perfect. Live music on Friday and Saturday just pushes this rating over the top. The only way it could be better is if they expand and make seating right on the putting green. I know the golfers aren't going to give that up. Make a reservation or be patient. It's so popular these days because of all the details I previously mentioned that it gets quite crowded. They are doing what other restaurants have been doing since Covid and reserving seating in time frames. If you come earlier you may have a time frame of 2 hrs in which to eat. However the food and the service need to get it together. Slow service although you may not mind due to the views. The orders are usually wrong. Ordered nachos with no beef and they came with beef. No limes no lemons for drinks first and second time. Drinks are super heavy handed which you may or not like!! T 2nd time nachos raw cheese not a bit melted. Lettuce was a little wilted and old in my salad. I really hope service improves because obviously the patio is a huge draw. Try again in a few weeks. I just had the worst experience at "In The Drink restaurant bar" in Wayne NJ. The night started out great meeting friends and sharing our table with new friends who didn't have reservations. Then things quickly changed.... We had reservations for 5:30 and at 730 were asked by our waiter to leave by 7:55 as he brought the drinks we ordered ! We complained to the manager about this and were told that we were notified by text and when we were seated that we would have to leave by 8:00. Not true... nothing was noted in the confirmation text nor did the hostess say anything when we were seated. All around us people who were there before us were not asked to leave. We asked about this and the manager and hostess said we "randomly" ask people at tables to leave....huh? I guess the other tables' bar tabs were exceedingly higher than ours.....could that be why we were the "random" table asked to leave! Not only was this inconsiderate but the manager and hostess were extremely rude. We will never return to this place given the way we were treated. Horrible service, treatment favoritism and GREED Also, a member of our group was in a wheelchair and no consideration was given to her to gain access to the patio except for wheeling her through the mulch. Not acceptable. essentially they sold us alcohol and were fine with us leaving within minutes of consuming it so they can sell more drinks to the next party. Wonder how many people are driving drunk immediately after leaving In the Drink. Will definitely not return. I went to In The Drink this past Saturday to have drinks and food on the patio with my family being it was a nice fall afternoon. First off service is really not existent. We had to wait for one of the bartenders to come out for a drink order and being I don't drink beer I had to ask for a drink menu. I noticed some of the few patrons going inside to get their own drinks and one group had a large bottle of wine which I think they brought with them. My daughter got a dirty disgusting martini and my drink was to be an Arnold Palmer but didn't taste like one nor was there any alcohol in it for $9 in a skinny small glass. We looked at the menu for appetizers and when we finally had the same bartender to take the order we were informed 10 minutes later that we couldn't have the nachos because they had no tortilla chips, and that the owner went to get them but wouldn't be coming back soon. Ordered fried greasy calamari and sliders that were so over cooked that without ketchup it wasn't even edible. It's really a shame that this establishment is mismanaged because this place should be a gold mine being it sits on Passaic county golf course and has beautiful scenery and is a great spot to get together with friends. So happy we found this hidden place. They need to advertise! Outdoor atmosphere was beautiful with a view of the golf course and nice live music. However, once the live music was over (8:30)...there was not any other music outside. They need to get speakers! Unfortunately the minimum I can give is 1 star. If I could give worse, I would. Just left after having dinner at In the Drink and the word disaster comes to mind. The service was terrible. You would have thought this was the first time our waitress ever waited on a table. My wife ordered the Mexican salad which advertises lettuce, tomato, avocado, onion, chicken, etc... The order comes out missing avocado and onion, so we asked for them and we get the salad brought back with 2 small slices of avocado and 3 small slices of onion. I asked for curly fries with my burger which I asked to be cooked medium, only to have it well done. When we told the waitress about the fries, she took my plate away, only to bring it back 5 minutes later and said you're fries will be out in a few minutes. 20 minutes later, my fries came out. At that point they were sent back. The topper of them all is my daughter ordered a seltzer and the waitress brings her ketchup. . I said something to whoever was in charge of the place and her reasoning was, we had a lot of people call out sick. Not my problem. If you are in charge you are responsible for ensuring customers have a good experience. If you need to be out there taking orders and serving food, then that's what you need to do.
