From day one, the instructors have each been welcoming and fair to all kids in the program. There is no question that the instructors all enjoy teaching jiujitsu to children of different skill levels and ages, it's definitely a passion of theirs and because of that, the kids safety and instruction is tailored to challenge each kid on an individual basis. As a parent, watching your children develop life skills, gain confidence, improve their fitness, respect others, enjoy competition, and have fun/laugh at the same time is all you can ask for - and that we get with every class we send our kids to. But like swim, we think of this sport as a life skill, a sport that we want the boys to do for their lifetime. Coach Alex is patient and very thorough in his demonstrations and examples. The other instructors are just as wonderful in their instruction and flexibility in working with the kids. Life lessons of anti-bullying, social responsibility, and being a good citizen are discussed with the kids in here which is a huge bonus. The classes go at the right speed that doesn't intimidate or burn out my sons and encourages them while learning. There are advanced students here who probably compete or are looking to do that. My sons are athletic but not on the aggressive side and this dojo is perfect for them and all types of kids looking to learn and excel in this sport.
